CLiechty,
Very helpful in learning ASL vocabulary
This app has been an important tool to help me learn ASL over the last 7 years. It doesn’t have all the signs I want, but as I don’t have fluent ASL speakers around very often, it is a good source for new signs and to help me remember some I once knew. I’m a Dad with 2 deaf children who have cochlear implants. They are mostly oral and in mainstream school, but we want to be bilingual as much as possible. This app is a key tool.
Neurotic Atheist,
Not many signs
I am a DHH long term substitute teacher for who is not fluent in ASL. I know, I know, but the district was desperate and I know enough to teach kiddos who are very young and don’t have much language since their parents don’t sign. Anyway, this app has been pretty much useless since about 90% of the time there isn’t the sign I need on here. Thank goodness for my aide who is hard of hearing and is fluent in ASL, but I feel bad always having to ask him. Also, I have an awesome paper dictionary but it takes longer to look up words and the drawings aren’t always easy to understand. If you added more signs, this would be an awesome app since the signers are very easy to understand.
Armando Gimenez,
Needs Updating
This is a great app and one of the few of it's kind. I like this app because of how many signs are provided, but some signs are either outdated or incorrect. One that i know is incorrect are the signs for "Missouri" and "Montana", they're actually backwards (Missouri is M-O, and Montana is that sign that's listed as the one for Missouri). It would be nice if the signs could be corrected or updated, maybe even include different ways of signing them since there are often regional differences in signs.
Tzme,
Use at work all the time!
This app helps me fill in the many large gaps in my ASL vocabulary. I use it almost daily with young children who receive speech/language services and their parents. I’ve referred many parents and other professionals to the app, as well!
sandee20,
Love it!
Yes I love it, and it is very easy to use. It has lots of words which are easy to find alphabetically. Because I am deaf on one side and heard of hearing in the other, I am learning ASL. The ASL Dictionary is very useful and I highly recommend it especially for ASL learners.

It is now two years later and I still love this app.
tsimonds,
Solid App for the Price; Hopefully to Improve
A good app. One major thing for me is that it doesn't explain similar signs—how they differ, or if they ARE the same and one can figure it out by context. For example I just looked up “day in and day out (everyday)” and it looks like another sign I’ve seen. Unfortunately I’m worried about doing it wrong. No one is here to help me move fwd.
Chaoscrow,
Awesome app
This app works perfectly for what I want. I just wish it could send me a word of the day or week or some notifications to remind me to practice. Other than that this app has almost every word I have needed in one way or another.
hei20hei05,
Pretty good
Some of them don’t seem right and I don’t have someone who I can ask because im not around deaf or fluent asl people also she doesn’t have any facial expression which bothers me a lot. And there should be notes on some where it can mean different things depending on the face. Just a thought but it’s pretty good
PatteeAnn,
This app helps!
My granddaughter lives with us and is deaf. We use it everyday for past 5 years or so. I wish the photo of the interpreter was bigger or a written explanation of the sign and where it comes from (memory aid) was included.
JakAlaska,
Wonderful and useful
I recently started a job with a coworker who is deaf. The whole crew is really cool about learning ASL and this tool has been great. I only wish there was an option to save signs to flash cards or a shortlist to study them more easily when you have specific words to learn.
