UPGRADES
The game is mostly free to play, but you can upgrade to take control of your experience - choosing which side and how much territory to start with. You can also blow off steam with fantasy battles between any 2 cultures - and as many warriors as your device can handle! For what it's worth, you can also edit every character in the world - but please note that this game uses up to 1,000 of them that are regularly replaced.
CONTROLS
When controlling a specific character, this game offers either the "Classic" 1-handed control system or "Dual Wield" where each hand is controlled separately. If you are not already familiar with these from previous games in the series, you can pause the action at any time by hitting the dateline and then study the "Controls" guide. Also look out for in-game hints from scrolls or books that you can read.
In this game, you can change which member of the team you are controlling at any time by either tapping the health meter or literally pointing to them on the battlefield. By tapping the arrows at the bottom of the screen, you can also activate "Commander" mode where you step back and direct any active member of your team by simply swiping from their location to another. Whether you intend them to relocate, fight an enemy, or pick up an object, they will try to make sense of your instructions. But please bear in mind that they can only do so at their convenience and may have other priorities!
Whatever device or control method you are using, you can always zoom in or out by pinching at the centre of the screen.
MAP
The main "Campaign" game mode requires you to increase your territory by moving units from one area to any connected one. You can either "fortify" an existing territory or attempt to seize a rival territory. Note that only 50% of the units in a territory will be available to travel - which necessarily makes it harder to invade than it is to defend.
The population of any inhabited territory may grow after each round, so it is important to control as many as possible. Notice that units will also gradually heal over time, so it is a good idea to work with different locations each turn.
PERFORMANCE
Please note that this is the largest scale game I have made yet, and may require a high-end device to run at 100%. Consider keeping the "Population" low to reduce the number of characters on screen, or tone down other features in the "Display" options.
I regret there is more to this game than I could ever explain here, so I hope you enjoy figuring some things out for yourself!

Fun game with annoying problems
Back Wars is a fun game and I enjoyed playing the campaign. Fighting against the present, future, and zombies was fun with good variety. There are ads but only after you beat a level. The weapons are good. But there’s also problems. As the past, you can’t learn to drive a tank like you can learn other weapons. The animals are really annoying because they randomly attack you. In the other games you could ride deer and tigers, it’s impossible in this game. Also, there’s dialogue in this game. That would be fine, but you can’t move while there’s dialogue on the screen. The enemies can! And you can’t defend yourself while someone is talking. When someone is dying, you’re supposed to be able to grab them to save your life. Half the time it doesn’t even grab them and grabs in the air instead.

Mat makes really great games and I’ve been playing for years I literally get google play cards just so I can get the best editions but he should make another game where it’s like school days but you are in college you can drive cars,play sports and you are on a college campus I really want him to focus on the sports it’s like college sports home and away games but you can customize the college how much space you want you can also visit your parents have a girlfriend or boyfriend have sibling you can choose how many years you want to go you can also go to parties I want him to make it like college the sports should be basketball,football,baseball,lacrosse,track,wrestling,volleyball,and field hockey but it’s also just a game where you can have fun you can also decide to have roommates and could you make it if you buy the better edition for this hope to be future game you have full customization I hope you can make this a game.

Way too difficult
I like the idea, I like the game, but oh my god how unfair it is. The weapons that you get are nothing compared to the enemy’s. You get sticks and small knives while the other team gets rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and TANKS. And if you dare try to get one of the better weapons that the enemies have you get swarmed and immediately killed. It doesn’t help that when you grab weapons from the enemies you have to stand there for like 3 seconds observing the weapon because your character is from the past and is intrigued at the futuristic weapon. But that’s unfair because by the time I’m done observing the weapon, enemies blew me up with a rocket launcher, shot me twice, stomped and punched me so that I can’t get up, and died. I gave this game 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 because I still think this game is fun when it isn’t constantly making you rage and I believe that I would give this a better rating if it were more balanced. Other than the unfair advantages to the enemies, it’s a solid game.

I really like this game and extra lives but there’s still a couple of problems that would make the game better if fixed like the grabbing, someone’s begging for their life after being shot 5 times with a rifle and you try to save him by grabbing him and you end up grabbing the enemy right next to him or just grabbing the air and boom… your comrade died. One of the other problems is the animals, the animals are fine except when they’re constantly walking on you and moving you or just trying to block you as if they’re secretly a part of the other side. Aside from that the games pretty good… wish there was an update with more sides and weapons tho

Great game with minor problems
It start off the game is excellent with the past present and even zombies there’s a great variety this game hold which is great, To begin with the problems the animals such as the tiger and bear randomly attack you which can be quite annoying, second the time it takes for the past characters to understand the present weapons this can be quite difficult when your playing the game, third there should be a option to change the map without costing money, I believe this used to be a option before, fourth the past should be able to ride tanks

Too difficult
The purpose of a final boss type mechanic it to challenge the player with a difficult opponent to make them feel rewarded. I struggled through defeating the present and was actually enjoying the difficulty of the game. I like a challenge so I planned on giving this game 5 stars but after I defeated all the present the future came. They literally have Plasma guns, freeze guns, flamethrowers, and electric guns. Fighting against machine guns with swords and shields was hard enough. But cmon bruh one opponent from the other team comes out with a plasma gun and literally stomps everyone from my team. And what makes it worse is that I can only use half of my people in a county yet they attack AND defend with all 10 people. Yes, 10 people with long range super powerful guns vs. my max of 5 with swords and a few spears and treasure maps. Unbelievable.

Great game
I think you should disable the thing when you go away from the map it says you retreated and that you should add more games on the App Store and you could try to even add some to gaming consoles but i understand if that would be hard to do so just pls stop the retreat thing and also make the a.i smarter cause when I won the game I tried to purposely lose by retreating every time they attack but know it just goes crazy for like a hour and when it finally attack I reteated but it just made them go crazy longer the next time

Why only past?
This game is amazing! I play it all the time it’s so much fun to play. But the thing is that when you take over all the country’s with the past then the future comes and when it’s the future vs the past it’s so hard to win. I lose every game because of this. The weapons just aren’t fair the future has lasers, freeze guns, lightsabers and all the past has is Spears, Shield s, and the bow are the only good weapons. And I don’t want to spend 3 dollars just to buy the present and other stuff. But still great game and I love playing it

Huge fan
I been in love in mdickie games ever since I was like in 3rd grade and now I am in 10th grade. You should download this game. Don’t mind the graphics because it’s just his style. He worked so hard to release this game. However when it came out it wasn’t able to be released on the apple store because they thought it was the same as his other games. I felt so bad for him because it seemed like his effort was wasted. But, it’s back now. So please download this game because it’s a great game and also it will support Mdicke as a developer.

Western or pirate and attack on titan
Matt I love your work and I’m a big fan! So I’m writing so I can suggest 3 genres I think would be AWSOME for a kid like me! First a western game. I love Rdr2 so this is why, and let it have a big map size like extra life, or super city, another idea is a pirate game where you can have your own crew and do pirate activities. One more is attack on titan. Now, if you haven’t heard about it you can watch the show or read the book, but it is about soldiers trying to kill giant naked creatures that eat people.
