Our MyBlue App is a simple and secure way for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts members to manage their health care.

Our app is the most convenient way to stay informed about your plan when you need it. It connects you securely to your health plan information when you need it. With a simple tap, you can connect to your claims history, recent prescriptions, and financial accounts balances.
To use the app, you must register using your member ID that is located on your member ID card.
Key features of the app include:
• A digital ID card, that can be emailed, printed and saved to your phone
• Access claims activity and details
• Doctor information and visit history
• Medication information and refill dates
• Find doctors, dentists, and hospitals
• Secure, HIPAA compliant access to video doctor visits using Well Connection for medical and mental health care*
• Connect with member service or our nurse care line
• View information for dependents under 18
• Phone numbers and driving directions to hospitals, pharmacies and doctor offices

When it works it’s still only mediocre at best
Have always used the app on and off when I need to look at my coverage. As of late I have been unable to even login to the app to do anything in it. That said, even when the app is working, searching for providers usually results in an error and looping back to the home tab.

Aside from that, and this may be a general BCBSMA thing, but there needs to be some better search features for types of providers and specialists or at least filters when looking for a provider. Oh and if you try to filter it’s hard to have more than one on at a time.

Useless for WellConnect
Well, my husband tested positive for COVID on a Sunday, out of state, so he wanted to call to talk to someone to see if there was something he could do to speed up the recovery process. We opened up WellConnect, which we’d used in the past, only to find that was no longer a working app and we needed MyBlue. The download was quick and easy. I was able to find a list of available doctors quickly, but then my screen went white. I closed and opened the app…twice. White screen. I restarted my iphone and re-opened the app. White screen. Ok, plan B. We got the app on my husband’s iphone and success! We found the list of providers again. We clicked on one to start a visit. It asked us to choose which family member the visit was for and a phone number. We tried to enter this information no fewer than a dozen times, to no avail. As soon as we would hit next, both fields would appear empty and it wouldn’t let us continue. Frustrating.

Well Connection video visit failed - I was charged
I was due to meet a provider for a Well Connection virtual visit and it failed. I was brought to a waiting room type page but when I tried to enter the room, I got redirected out of the app and to the the BCBSMA main web page with no further instructions. I tried several times, then shifted to PC, and also talked with tech support, but no success. In the meantime I was charged for a missed appointment. After complaining to customer support i will get a refund but it’ll take up to 30 days.

Tech support is telling me to uninstall and reinstall then try again with another appointment but there’s no guarantee it won’t happen again, leading to more cancellation charges. No other app I use for telehealth has this problem. They just work.

Can’t log in
Ridiculous can’t log in at all ! Useless Called number provided, I was told this is a known bug and to try back in 2 days it would be fixed Obviously not — any clue when you’ll have it fixed since it has not worked for at least 2 months You should just remove the app — it would be better customer service then asking what is happening when we are all expressing quite clearly you cannot log in through the app you should be able to replicate this if not happy to get on a call with you just let me know, give me a real phone number to call Seems like nobody really cares about fixing the problem but only seeing complaints wish I could just give it a zero rating rather than even one star

Terrible, broken app
Update 3/8: I didn’t think it was possible, but the latest update appears to have made this app even worse. I can no longer even sign into my account. This app is now entirely broken; if I could give 0 stars, I would!

Update 2/6: They replied to my review here asking me to email them, presumably to gather more specific error logs. Well, I emailed them and just received a generic response thanking me for my feedback and they’d look to address my concerns in a future release.

There are very few things in this app that actually work. The worst is the fact that practically every link (ex: express-scripts) seems to open in the Safari browser preview popup. This would just be a minor annoyance if it actually WORKED. Yet the webpages never actually load. Plus the UI has still not been updated to scale appropriately for newer iPhones with the camera/speaker area that extends into the screen. It’s been 3 years since the iPhone X... when are you going to update that? It’s become a bit of a tradition where I open this app every few months just to check in. Inevitably I immediately close it in frustration and login on my laptop.

Disappointed
Last year the app worked fine for me and was a great resource despite much difficulty initially getting into it. At the time with the initial login problems I was told IT was working through issues. All of a sudden I can’t get in again. App opens up then closes immediately. I’ve even offloaded the app and try all over again. Same thing. Very frustrating. It’s a shame bc the information on the app when working and consistent is terrific. I want to give it more Stars for the content within the app but the reliability of it working is a big issue.

Remarkably unhelpful
This is a pretty bad application from just about any standpoint it is possible to have. Somehow, finding a doctor in this app is even more frustrating than on desktop, which is truly saying something. The act of fighting with this apps completely non-intuitive layout and horrendous load times, much like the act of talking to a pile of bricks, is comically futile.

I suppose I shouldn’t be too mad about the fact that the app seems to have forgotten how to do anything but give me a loading icon, since actually using the application is like trying to hold a cup of water in the palms of your hands. It’d be cool if I could log in or whatever but honestly I’m not missing out. It’s time to delete this eyesore

Awful.
Easily the worst insurance app I have ever used. The app is incapable of providing the services they advertise. The website is just as bad. The app, when it can’t do something for you, will hand you over to the website which will then, in turn, route you back to the app. The website will also require you to sign in on each page it brings you to. Once you sign in it brings you back to the home page (not the one you were working from prior to signing in) and once you’ve routed your way back to the page you were originally working from it will need to go sign in again, completing the loop. This company is a scam.

Worst searching capability
This app is garbage when it comes to searching for providers. After too much of struggle, even if you can see the list of the providers, you are limited to 10/20 providers. Scroll for more? It will show you the providers you’ve already seen and then will show some additional. Scroll more? You get the point!

And I don’t want to mention the struggle you face to filter the list and even simply selecting the providers category is a hassle.

I don’t really know why an enormous enterprise like this does not bother to improve their app! There are so many similar reviews!

Amewll Visits fonts seem to work
Whenever I try to get a doctor to see over the phone, it tells me there’s a single patient waiting when there weren’t any to begin with, and then just sits and spins. Been on for over an hour and have tried various physicians.

UPDATE: developers told me to update the app but it’s on the latest version. Installing and reinstalling doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter what provider, just says oh they aren’t available after waiting 15 plus minutes being the only patient in their waiting room.
