y me?,
Good app
So far so good, I was prompted to give it a rating less than five minutes in to using it so I guess you know the value of those stars I gave it at this point. We shall see how it goes from here...tbc.... I find the app very useful after having used it now for almost a year. It does direct you to the website for certain access to parts of your account for security but I don’t mind that since it is keeping my PII safe. Update.. i’ve now use this app for well over one year going on 2...it’s very helpful in finding care. It’s also very helpful and links you to the website to your online health coach in order to earn more incentive monies for use on prescriptions and health care products. Due to the incentives that I have her I was pretty much able to get my prescriptions for the entire year free! If there’s not some glitches within the app and sometimes it loses your fingerprint for account access. But they stay up to date and rolling out application updates and as long as you have your update set to automatically enable then you should have minimal issues with this app I highly recommend it.

Ginger from Nurseline
Ginger from nurse-line helped me so much, she listened to me carefully, asked important questions, answered my questions, and told me to go directly to the ER— which is where I needed to be. I am so thankful to have someone so nice to call, I was scared, and I couldn’t get anyone else on the phone for assistance, thank you Ginger!!
The scary thing is how difficult it is to actually speak to someone at a hospital or dr office when the on-call dr is unresponsive. I was experiencing severe vertigo and vomiting and did not want to go anywhere unless necessary as I was alone, unwell, and dreading having to move, given my condition.
As a normally very healthy person I will be forever grateful for the care and concern Ginger and the BCBC nurse-line and app provided — I could only use the app and press the button to auto call because my head was spinning way too much to read or stand and locate paperwork/phone numbers—- you really never know when you may need help and a real live person to speak to helped me understand I needed medical attention immediately. Thank you again!

Inaccurate Question Follow Up
As a medical professional I find the questions To general . There is no place to expand on your answers. Asthma is not going to change but is managed, I’m a Dr. what do you actually think a nurse /coach would have the education to manage it! I have ADD it is in my profile, the medical reasons behind have been treated for 30 years under a Physician trained in adult ADD. You do not know any history. Vaccination’s considering I am retired DOD given most while in service you have no record! As far as MS, I know there is no one other than a MS Specialist that should be giving any advise. Considering I’m 64 I believe my BP , weight, activity level, and lipid profile are above average for anyone my age. You pay an Insurance Actuary only to benefit your existence . So you group people rather than treating each patient individually. If insurance would quit trying to practice medicine and let Doctors treat patients correctly the first time you’d see less claims. Making patients go through try this first , then if you fail we’ll ok what you need. I’ve practiced and worked for Insurance. I’ve had to correct more bad NP and PA’s That don’t know their drugs or how to read labs .
Richardjhead,
Anthem helps keep me healthy
I have Anthem insurance and use the app daily. I must admit I am hooked on earning the cash rewards, and really enjoy using them for my copays when I go to the pharmacy and the doctor. More important, however, is accessing health benefits that are available to me that I wouldn’t have known about. I have been enrolled in a weight loss program, losing 12 pounds, while getting a free scale and Fitbit, plus active coaching and program monitoring. I received a free blood pressure monitor, that helps me keep track of my health. I have had physical therapy sessions that I didn’t know were covered, and have had other benefits that were for the purpose of keeping me healthy instead of helping me recover from being sick. Anthem is a great insurance company, and I appreciate all that it does for me and my family. I like staying well, instead of recovering.
yldiydoyf,
Cannot ‘agree’ to terms so cannot get in
I spent WAY too much time going through the endless terms and conditions, noting the instruction to ‘scroll to the end and select Agee’. The problem is, there is no place to select anything. Going back to the user/password login showing the box for ‘Agree’ just keeps taking me back to the 5 million word legal mumbijumbo that all these apps have. The box will NOT allow me to check it. So, I cannot access my data. Thinking using this app might resolve it, but no it does not. Due to a ‘security issue’ I am required to logon via the website and go through the entire process again and again. I give up.

I reset the account twice because the site demanded it. Now I am willing to check the box, since there is really no option if I want to see my own data. And I know that means that the fact that this is a worthless website, and a worthless app is all my responsibility, and that BCBS shall be completely irresponsible for any problems arising from my attempted or actual use of the site or the app.

In any case, I do hope they decide to fix this mess anyway, as I have no way to do so myself and I do need access to my health data.
Gods Goofy Girl,
This is awesome
I never gave tine to do things to really help me with perks. I stay so tired and never feel well. I’m going to try my best to do this. It would help me. Upon calling BSBS, a vet nice young lady informed me I could set up an acct for my husband as well. Thank you Jennifer ( CSR) I had no clue. BCBS has been so good to us I Praise God for having this Ins. Although I’m scared my annuity per month I only get .15 cents. I had to change my Ins. Benefits last year. I’m scared as to what might happen to us next year. I’ll be 61 in November of 2021. My Husband is 67 so his Primary is Medicare. We are so Thankful to God we have Ins. We are Blessed , but I am scared. I hope someone can work with me next year we just Can’t lose our Ins. God Bless you. 🙏🤗
adegriselles,
Nothing but a clunky web browser
It is nothing but a clunky web browser. It looks like and works similar to the web site, but is in its own difficult to use and limited package. It is difficult to search for providers. It never knows where I live, even though it has my address set in my account info. Whenever I search I have to reset where I am located, or it will search a 25 mile radius around some new random city throughout the US. Then after finding a possible provider, there is no way to save the provider for easy reference and I have to remember exactly how I found the provider last time so I can search for them again. In the menu of the search feature, it says there is a” Favorites” section, but I can not find anywhere to save a provider as a favorite. When I click on “Favorites” in the menu, it tells me to click on the “Favorite” button, but there is no “Favorite” button to be found. This restricted web browser is not an app and is not useful. It has been an exercise in both patience and frustration.
aa11qq11,
it is a "work in progress"
I am glad that FEPBlue has an app, and it does provide a lot of information about my account. However it is not fully functional, by any stretch. If using the Health Tools, as an example, it will not function to update your progress...it just freezes up, you must log onto the web version to get full functionality. Even the web program falters in some functions...still after all these years. Today neither the app or the web site would access "find a provider" function. That is a gross failure. Three stars for making progress, but progress is slow and still has periods of outages.

Edit: now after several hears the app is still not fully functional with iOS. Come on folks. The screen stays small and cannot bE enlarged, the touch id does not work either...I have downgraded my rating of the app from 3 stars to 1 star for your continued failure to fix the app, much less make it more user friendly.
SirNotworthit,
Borderline fraud for patients
Since the launch of this app, it has been plagued with bugs and errors that could only be explained as intentional from a company/budget this large. The prioritization of fixing simple redirect issues when attempting to access claim information appears to be attempting to hide information on the explanation of benefits to get a clear understanding of insurer/member responsibilities.

The website isn’t far behind with similar inconsistencies such as the constant error occurring in excess of 6 months being given an error of “empty pdf” when submitting overseas claims after filling out properly. The forcible action of the website and app not allowing submission of claim forms appears to be an exercise from BCBS to persuade members not to file claims out of frustration and assume the full financial burden.

Will be dropping the entire insurer this season due to their sheer lack of transparency in coverage displayed on this app and website, the severe delay in claims processing, and an overall loss of confidence in the company.
Roses & Lilies of the Valley,
BC/BS FEP
I recently moved from one state to another. I was, and still am in the position of having to find a variety of new doctors. I use this app to find participating physicians that are taking new patients and accept Medicare. I have actually been told that I was to old to be accepted to their practice. One glitch I have run into is that, when looking for a doctor in my vicinity, the app automatically has me located in New Jersey. I enter my information; however, the app continues to locate me in New Jersey. The steps need to change my location are not clear and I need to figure it out each time I log in to find a doctor.
I also track the information that’s being added to my account. I have found it very helpful figuring out what services are being reported to my two insurance companies ... BCBS FEP & Medicare.
