WHY I LIKE THIS GAME:

*easy to learn, but hard to master - difficulty increases logically
*fun and challenging (but not impossible) combat encounters
*gameplay provides tons of ways to use action economy
*several diverse classes offer different ways to play
*extra classes can be earned by achievement or purchased
*cool magic items that are fun to experiment with
*experience a different dungeon every time you play
*can easily play for 5 minutes or 5 hours
*no NPC dialogue screens to read through - it's just combat!!

COMMENTS:
Probably the best mobile game I've bought in a really long time. I knew after 5 minutes of playing that I would love it, and I totally do. I'm trying to resist buying the extra classes (even though it's only a couple bucks) so I can try to earn them with the in-game challenges. Either way there are no paid features that you can't earn for free through gameplay/achievement. I won't buy any mobile game that offers P2W/recurring micro-transactions, and this one doesn't, so huge thanks to the developers for not including these scams in their game.

DOWNSIDE(?):
My only complaint would be that if playing on an iPad, you have to hold in portrait orientation....I would like to have the option to rotate display to be able to use it in landscape orientation.

BOTTOM LINE: highly recommend you buy this game right now

I got this game a long time ago, in addition to a bunch of other text adventure and old classy style games (idk why I love them, it wasn’t even like my childhood or anything I just love the simplicity and style of the games). However this one stood out significantly as a really good game, and became my favorite mobile game pretty quickly. Fast forward to a week and a half ago, got my best friend into the game and now he’s addicted too. I cannot state how amazing this game is, and I mean it’s free. Like you can’t get much better than that for value.

Small bug I found, is when you play the card that says the next one does double damage, it only applies to cards already in your hand so if you play that card that drew in its spot then it does normal damage.

And that’s my only negative thing to say about the game. A tiny bug.

I really enjoyed this game. I was searching for fun new mobile games and saw this one. I finally downloaded it and played to check it out. To my surprise it was a lot more fun than I imagined. The run through of the dungeons was smooth, collecting cards or rejecting them was cool. I enjoyed that there are merchants. The combat was super fun, it was simple, and the bosses did provide a challenge, even some rooms could be challenging at times. I do wish there was a way to retreat from combat and I want more! I completed the dungeon fully and I would like to see new levels added, or maybe a secondary dungeon; furthermore, it would be cool to one day have a story mode, not only involving completing the dungeon, but also have side quests.

The old school graphics almost made me put it down but after getting killed by a multiplying devil 3 times in a row I was going to get beat the game at least once! Then I wanted to unlock all the characters and along the way found ways to win using defense, poison, magic, and my favorite fire! Each game is a challenge but by the end I won 5 games in a row and unlocked every character. Biggest tip - don’t take every card you find, be strategic. Definitely exceeded expectations - may you also become...a card crusader!!!

I like this game, but it’s incredibly difficult most of the time.
It’s a cute little card based dungeon crawler, exactly what I’ve been looking for, which is why I was so disappointed when 15 runs in I realized that if you don’t have enough damage to win on turn one; you’re very likely not going to win.
Or at least that applies to the bosses, who summon more enemies each round and deal massive damage. If you can’t kill the summoner on turn one; you’ve lost. Which is really disappointing. I started abandoning runs as soon as my turn would end with a Boss still alive, just to restart and have it happen again!
I like everything else, and would pay for a full game where the designers ideas could be more fleshed out.

This is a really solid deck builder with multiple classes and interesting combos. Download it if you are a fan of deckbuilding roguelikes or roguelikes in general.

Some critiques:
I would love to see even more content in this game and some added options would be nice.

Specifically an option to quicken walking and especially fighting animations which can become somewhat tedious to watch after a while.

Breaking pots can also be a bit tedious, because if you want to play optimally you really should be breaking every pot on the floor as it will more than likely add up to a good amount of gold over the course of a run. It could be good to add something that makes doing this feel like less of a chore? Maybe add some risk/reward to it, such as potential enemy encounters or traps/curses but also greater loot incentive.

Overall this is a great game and for the price of “free” it’s 100% worth your time. The above criticisms are only because I would love to see this game become even better. It’s closer to 5 stars than 4.

I like games that are difficult. I’m not giving this three stars because it’s hard. I believe if you make a hard game it should be forgiving, and the sole fact that I’ve had runs that were entirely ruined because I accidentally clicked on the stairs or the end turn button is too unforgiving for me. Let me climb back upstairs. Don’t put the end turn button where my thumb meets the phone. I click it so often without meaning to. Full energy and I end my turn accidentally. Make a confirm screen for choosing every spell but not for your action in a battle? It’s frustratingly difficult to play without these unforgiving designs. I like the game. Don’t ruin it with its mechanics.

I have had this game for a while. I have beaten it multiple times, with multiple characters, but I haven’t done it with all of them yet. I play this game almost daily, and I usually end up playing it for about 1-2 hours at a time. Sometimes more. The graphics are nostalgic, and the quick play through makes it a perfect game with just enough challenge to make you want to play more. The new alter update has made the game even better.

This may just be me playing it too much, but there is a poor amount of different cards and alters, and I find myself running the same two kinds of decks ( heavily defensive with Theasourus and metalisize or trying to find and abuse the Horcrux). I know the team is small and this isn’t the prioritized game, but I love it. Please some updates to the amount of the game would be appreciated by all. Love the game

It is so incredibly rare to find a truly engaging and fun mobile game that isn’t pay to win these days. This on does have in-app purchases ($2.99 to unlock every character right away), but you can also earn each character through in game achievements. It is challenging, but with enough different stackable builds to be fun. It’s a great deck builder and I highly recommend.
