jeepdon,
LOVE THIS GAME!
What an incredibly addictive game! As other shave noted, the difficulty is SPOT ON—you do have to think your way through most puzzles, but you don’t have to be pixel-perfect every time, and there’s usually more than one approach that’ll get the job done. I’ve only run across a half-dozen levels where I got less than 3 stars, and I’ll definitely be revisiting those at some point. The fun of watching castles crumble, without having to bang your head against their walls and get frustrated, has made this one of the most enjoyable Arcade games yet.

DEVELOPERS: PLEASE consider making an app, or an expansion, that lets us build our own castles and share them! I don’t know if you’re familiar with the old “Incredible Machine” series, but Castle Crumble has a lot of those same vibes, and being able to build our own levels (and share them) would be SO much fun, and add so much play time to the game!
GDD9000,
So buggy it’s nearly unplayable now
This was my favorite game. Knocked it out in two weeks (it’s a easy game). Was happy with it. But then they recently came out with more levels. At first I was stoked because this game is/was quite fun. However, the game is practically back to alpha stage. Buildings hang in the air where you have to expend more ammo to destroy them. Shots just disappear, wasting ammo. Balloons will just spin in the air. I even had one ballon where after I hit it the dynamite shot straight up in the air and disappeared. And often when I’ve destroyed every building the app doesn’t acknowledge it and I realize I just wasted ten minutes on a challenge. It’s frustrating and has changed my favorite game to my least favorite game. Steer clear of this until the developers fix it and save yourself some frustration.

I updated this from 1 star to 4 stars. It appears the developers has addressed all the bugs I had issue with (or those bugs were in the levels before Crystal Vale. Since I got to this level the gameplay has been great). My only complaint before all the glitches was that the game was too easy. Not anymore lol. This level is hard!! Really loving this game again, strongly recommend it. After I best this level I’ll probably change my review to five stars, but I want to make sure the bugs are fixed first
Mudak326,
A bit on the easy side
I’m reviewing this app in its initial version, which consists of four worlds, each with sixty stages. This game is exceptionally easy as in under three days of casual pick-it-up-and-play during downtimes, I completed all 240 levels at three stars each. There were only a handful of levels that I had to return to because I didn’t get three stars on in the first go-around.

The game is well animated but the real appeal in the game lies in the haptic feedback it gives you as the castles collapse. That’s a nice touch. Occasionally when you destroy the towers on either side of a bridge, the towers may collapse but the bridge might remain suspended in midair with nothing to support it. The developers might want to look into that flaw in the game rendering engine.

Finally, there is one Game Center achievement that should be unlocked after you destroy ten balloons. Since I have finished literally every stage of the game, I feel as though this achievement should have long since been unlocked and yet it hasn’t. The developers should look into this too.
melissapete24,
Please don’t make it any harder! The easiness was a pleasant surprise!
I love being destructive in video games, so this is quickly beco, ing one of my favorite iOS games. I’m GLAD it isn’t as hard as most games like this are! Those games get WAY too hard WAY too fast, and then they are no longer enjoyable, and I find myself hating and deleting them. I LOVE that this is so easy; I find myself trying to figure out how to “optimize” my destruction rather than getting ticked off because that final star seems impossible to get by just a hair. Devs, for the love of all things castle-y and crumbly, PLEASE ignore those saying the game is too easy. Not all of us like nearly-impossible puzzlers!

I haven’t tried it on iPhone yet, only iPad, but seeing reviews mentioning the satisfying haptics, I think I’ll try the next few levels on that!

Seriously, I LOVE this game!!!
iPhone iConnoisseur,
Not a bad game, a little buggy though
I have finished all of the levels available. The game is fun, or I wouldn’t have made it that far. Sometimes the physics does not make any sense. For example, objects shouldn’t float in space when there is no supporting structure. This happens often with bridges. Clear objectives would also be helpful. Sometimes, I am shooting a cannon ball at rubble or a gate to get the last few percent which doesn’t make much sense, but I understand the game is to destroy. I just wish the how much part didn’t turn into me looking with each collapse to see what my new percentage is. Another option I would like is the ability to zoom in. Some of the areas that need to be destroyed can be through a small window which turns into a lucky shot. You might find yourself yeet’ing stuff at a small opening and restarting until you get lucky enough to make the opening. That can be super frustrating.
mika(Lovelee),
Finished and looking forward to more levels
The training was great and I absolutely love the graphics, aesthetics, and overall tranquility of the game. It has reasonable challenges within each level and keeps you anticipating a little. Just the right measures and now I’m looking forward to the next adventure when they unlock the rest of the maps. I enjoyed myself so much and didn’t realize there would be an ending or a stopping point, however, it allows me to realize how much I have come to appreciate this game with little pressure and allows flexibility of restart a level or pause when needed and resume without cause for concern of losing place or anything like that.

Made for infants
Where’s the strategy? Where’s the difficulty? This game is ok, but fails to live up to its potential. I have never once been in danger of not getting three stars on a level, rarely ever have I been close to running out of supplies (if I have it is always because my thumb slipped, not because anything challenged me). The whole game feels like an intro to a game. I keep waiting for it to get more difficult, but at level 66, it still feels about the same as level 8. Nice try, but for something similar and way more challenging and engaging I’ll go back to angry birds.

Tips to make this better: allow us to only choose a few items to bring to each level. Give us the responsibility of placing our own TNT balloons. Make the balloons move more quickly. Require more precise accuracy. Hide more objects throughout the levels. Make getting three stars dependent on finding hidden objects or otherwise more difficult.
RQuinton,
So. Many. Bugs
I actually enjoy the game and would give it at least four stars but it consistently crashes and I no longer desire to keep playing.

It is a building destroying game that requires the use of limited resources to complete the level. The game makes you think of a game plan before you start using your resources. (Resources replenish after every level without the need to purchase anything). Overall difficulty is low, but I’m also only on stage 51 and it is possible the difficultly level will continue to increase the higher level I get.

It’s possibly a game out there is already is doing this, but I think it would be nice to be able to level up your resources in some fashion, either through continuing using that resource over and over, like an XP thing, or to have a shop where one can make purchases with in world credits. As an example making the cannon ball hit harder. Reduce ricochet on timed bombs, Acid splash with have a bigger splash zone, something like that. It would be an incentive to keep playing.

I’m afraid to waste in game credits for testing this out, but is purchasing of elite resources (is triple meteor a one time use for 600 coin or a permanent artifact you can use X number of times in battle?

As I said in the beginning though, way too many bugs. Hopefully I will be able to come back and enjoy the game once that gets sorted out.
loyal player 🤘🙃👾,
Not bad
I’m not that far yet only to level 23 so I can’t judge to harshly but it’s a fun way to pass the time and it can be a challenge to find the right way to bring down the castle with very little resources so you can get more points graphics are good and the haptic feedback when the bricks fall is a nice touch. Though it will probably drain my battery faster that way. I’m sure it can be turned off just haven’t looked for that yet anyway cool game guys keep up the nice work. I would like to see a zoom function if that’s possible even just a little bit more nothing crazy I know that’s part of the challenge but that’s all
ColinHuth,
Mechanically flawless, so easy strategy is meaningless
I feel people begging the developers to not make it any harder are forgetting there’s a middleground between “almost impossible to get 3 stars” and “get 3 stars for free, every single level, with less than half your shots used, entirely without thinking”… which is where the game currently resides. An optional challenge mode with a reasonable shot count wouldn’t take much dev time or playtesting to implement.

There’s no incentive to interact with all the clever mechanics or figure out fun solutions when out of the last 150 levels, in *149* the game actively encouraged brainlessly firing away by giving the highest marks possible for nothing.

The current balancing isn’t “a little easy,“ it’s one notch away from pressing a button that says “win the level for me.”
