A Whole Mew World
The free Mew World update adds the much requested ‘Mew Game’ mode, as well a whole host of quality of life improvements and even new abilities and enemies! This is our way of making a great game even better, and saying ‘thank you’ to all our fans!

#1: Mew Game
This is a new mode that lets you play the entire game with ‘meowdifiers’! These can range from a ‘Level One’ playthrough, to an ‘Only Spells’ run! Challenge yourself and see who is the best catventurer of all! Purr-lus, there will be never-seen-before armor and weapons that you can only earn from this mode!

#2: Inventory
The inventory just got a whole lot better! Now it allows you to more easily switch between gear tabs, and even helps you sort your items much better! Furr-thermore, items now display their rarity and better show what elemental damage they do! There is also now a new tab for your Royal Arts!

#3: Elements
Weapons that do elemental damage are now better displayed in the game! The damage numbers now change color depending on the elemental damage you do! From white(physical) to purple(arcane), you will never not know what elemental damage you are doing ever again!

#4: Sprinting
Want to travel around the world even faster? We’ve added the ability for your characters to now sprint! This happens automatically once you run for more than a few seconds, so you can now cover great distances much faster! Run, kitty and doggie, run!

#5: Royal Arts
We’ve revamped the Pawer Smash! Now this Royal Art lets you do a new, devastating attack that is unique to each weapon type! Simply roll and attack right after to trigger this new move! Have fun seeing what it does! And furr-et not, the original Pawer Smash is still there, but in a slightly different form!

#6: New Enemies
Felt that the oceans were a smidge empty? We’ve added water enemies to the mix! These furr-some monsters will now make your travels across the Pawcific Ocean much more dangerous! Try fighting them and you might even find a new source of gold or exp!

#7: Difficulty
One of the biggest feedback we got was the game got too easy near the end, and this tweak will improve that a great deal! Enemies get tougher at high levels, but weapon upgrades and stats have also been tweaked to account for this! Experience a much more tuned difficulty with this update!

#8: Defense
We’ve revamped the Defense stat, and now it works much closer to how it did in the original Cat Quest! A shield now appears over your life bar, and the shield will take damage first. Don’t worry, it will recharge slowly, so it’s now up to you if you want to go full HP, or Def!

#9: Quality of Life
So many improvements! Now the map shows what level quests and dungeons are before you enter. The Kingsmarker displays the general direction it will teleport you, and we’ve added a way to finally delete your save files! These are on top of many other smaller tweaks we made to make things smoother!

Fixed a crash that happens when device language is set to Thai or Arabic.
Fixed some bugs.
Added some optimizations.

Shimien,
Use a controller
It doesn’t say that it does but you can use a controller. Just go into options and change it, I used an Xbox controller. The game is very straight forward and fun if you want a simple RPG. You can tell if you have completed a dungeon if there is a question mark or a half filled diamond you need to go back and complete something usually if you can’t figure it out there is a unmarked path you can walk off somewhere to get a chest. After a while you figure out you can skip all the dialog and just follow the on screen Cutser to see what to do next. You need to do as many level appropriate side quests as you progress otherwise you aren’t always strong enough to easily defeat the next part of main quest. Otherwise once you have completed a dungeon nothing will show on it. I finished with 100% on all Game Center categories. Using a controller and making your character use magic like shield, health restore with the black hole spell and the space beam or trap really does the job. Make the other character your tank.
NSException,
CQI was perfect. CQII is perfect-er.
Cat Quest was a beautiful distillation of the adventure genre, compressing an entire game’s worth of content into a large, beautifully realized overworld and several dozen brisk, fun dungeon instances. It’s hands-down one of my favorite mobile games.

Cat Quest II is somehow even more delightful. It has the same gorgeous artwork, energizing cinematic soundtrack, quirky dialog, and hilariously stupid cat (and dog) puns, but it smooths over a couple small deficits in the original. The additions of a companion, ranged attacks, elemental resistances, and dodge rolling give this sequel significantly more interesting and dynamic gameplay.

The only developer suggestion I really have is to include easily selectable equipment loadouts or favorites. If my cat is running through the desert wearing all ice mage gear and suddenly encounters one of those tough little (ice-resistant) ice wyverns, it’s tedious to change into another set of equipment just to switch back after the fight.
Callunairis,
Way too hard
I use a controller so no complaints about that, but geez I keep dying within minutes of a fight. This game is way too hard to be fun. I’ll keep trying a bit more and see what happens (maybe I need more upgrades I don’t know about) I’ll change the review if it gets easier, if not I’ll just move to another game; I don’t have much patience for constantly dying. Edit: yup no this is ridiculous, I keep dying after half a minute fighting any enemies except hedgehogs. I can’t do anything anymore as I ran out of them and not enough money to upgrade my stuff. I restarted the game to easy mode (can’t change to easy mode in the middle of the game, have to start over) and that was definitely better in the beginning but now I’m reaching that point again where I keep dying. Also, though initially the graphics seem great, until you discover it’s all a bit of the same and the graphics get boring. The collectible items aren’t all that great, (besides one weapon) you can only wear 2 items and you have to switch between everything the whole time (not just switch weapons). I really can’t be bothered with this game anymore… too bad because the concept is great.
KiwiTheTuber,
Cat lover- obsessed!
This game is simply incredible. It’s challenging, but not in a bad way- and the characters are adorable! Anyways, I’m going to list pros and cons

PROS:
-Beautiful art style!!! Simple, yet amazing!
-Adorable characters! Love the idea of a world of cats and dogs!
-Funny Jokes! There is some humor in the game-which I love- but just enough to where the game is still serious
-Never crashes (for me, at least. I’m not sure about other players)
-SAVES PROGRESS! That is a HUGE deal, since I feel like a lot of the Arcade games don’t.
-Just really addictive!
-Fun to play- I don’t really get stuck that much
I’m sure there’s more, but I’ve listed A LOT

CONS (is there even any?)
-Sometimes the places you have to go have harder enemies, but there’s no way to level up your armor or strength. (I’m not sure if that’s just me missing something though)
-The maps are huge, and sometimes it’s really hard to find where you need to go.

Like I said though, not many cons!

This is my absolute FAVORITE Arcade game, and I would get arcade just for this game. (Well, that and Guildlings)

Five stars FOR SURE, since this is a long adventure game that’s hard to get bored of!

Meow3691215182124,
Deleted some progress
I would give this game 5 stars, and it deserves it, if not for one thing. I opened the game one day, and it said to choose one file to overwrite. I didn’t even click anything, and there was no exit button, and I had no choice but delete a file I worked really hard on, and beat the game on, and all kinds of things. PLEASE FIX THIS! I am ok with it now, but if it does this again, which it will and has, I don’t know what I will do. Otherwise, this is a great game, and I actually liked it better than Cat Quest 1, and so you should definitely get it, just be careful and patient, because it may delete your progress. Now, this might just be me, and in that case I will be annoying, but I’ll live. If you can fix it though, please do. I love the entire cat quest series, and it is terrible when it breaks or something like that. Please make more games like this, and if you have, tell me. THANK YOU.
Slickninja,
A (almost) full sized action RPG adventure
Cat quest II really feels like a full sized title at first, the controls are great with touch and even better with a controller. It’s not the deepest RPG but easy to jump in and play for minute bursts.

The only downside comes from a bit of lack of variety, as the game weights a bit long on tooth without much meaningful change. You’ll crawl the same style dungeons and fight the same handful of enemies and the same few enemy attacks from beginning to end. Then the payoff is one unique panel, not much of a close out with an advert for a sequel. I liked the game play but mostly I ended up just using a wand from afar, rolling away and healing whenever hurt. With only two weapon types, there’s not much toy with. The few pieces of music and SFX are also become a bit worn by the end. There’s a few secrets, one of which was pretty funny as it gave me pause for a second before agreeing.

That said, this is easily one of the better games in the Apple Arcade roster, that really gives a small screen a big feel. It’s easy to list the short comings but Cat Quest II makes for the best of the Apple Arcade and ultimately one of the best mobile games.

Hopefully more larger titles like this are on Apple Arcade, and hopefully they’ll fund even bigger and more expansive games like Cat Quest.
WatTheHellDoYouThink,
Controls are done in the least optimal way
Controls are super jank, first the dodge roll is a double tap in the direction you want to go, and attack is just tapping the enemy you want to attack, what this means is in tight spaces or where there are multiple enemies you can’t dodge in the direction you want. Additionally to move you have to tap where on the screen you would like to go or hold your finger on the spot to continuously move in that direction, this is extremely annoying as you have to use both hands all the time to properly reach across the screen, and it is annoying/boring just tapping and waiting. A touch joy stick type deal that is commonly used in these kinds of games would be much better, then you could double tap while moving to roll in whatever direction easily and can move more fluidly in combat or roam with one hand. Also the spell selection controls could be optimized better as well. I’m not really surprised by poor optimization, basically all apple arcade games feel rushed.

Forces You To Delete Progress
This would be a pretty fun game if I didn’t have the same issue as others have mentioned in these reviews. It’s a really bizarre issue too.

I downloaded and played this game for the first time yesterday. It was quite a bit of fun if not really hard at the same time. Yet, today I open the title and click Start and I’m greeted with a screen where I either have to start over from the beginning or overwrite my progress from yesterday and essentially start over the beginning again. Why is this game designed that way? That’s completely bonkers and makes no sense at all. Why can I not play from save point from the last time I played, Cat Quest 2?

So, considering that either intentional game design or ridiculous bug, well, I’m done with this title. I just don’t get why this problem has been amply repeated and the developer doesn’t seem to want to fix it? That or they designed the game so that you lose all that progress you’ve made every time you go back into the game? Either option is insane in my opinion.

If, Cat Quest 2, is ever updated so that we can play it normally and have it save our progress. Then I’ll be happy to play it again and update my review accordingly. As it stands now, though, I would advise other potential players to steer way clear of this video game.
ima cooooool cat,
AMAZING (spoilers)
I LOVE this game. I went in a vacation for my grandmother’s birthday, and I started on the car ride there. I am now about to end the game after non-stop playing it all weekend on the way home. It is very addictive. Although I do wish there is a way to get around the map faster. Even when you get the water walking ability it still takes some time to get from Felingard to Lupus. I absolutely adore the art style aswell as the puns included in the dialogue. It is a beautifully made game and I suggest it to most. I give the creators a thank you for making this amazing experience of a game. Even though I’ve never played the first one, it still tells a great story.
justsosilly,
Raiding lite 😎
This game is so much fun. Life changes and I just can’t spend four hours a night in a raiding guild, but this has just the right balance of difficulty and challenge that I can pick up and put down as needed to get my fix. I’m fully decked out in the three legendary items and yet I still find myself coming back for more. This is the first RPG on iOS to get the touch interface right so that it doesn’t require a controller and works on a smaller screen, but it’s not just a smash tanking game either. Range DPS gameplay is very well done and I found it more intuitive. There is a ton of content to play through, making this a prime example of the quality available via Apple Arcade.
