Marly-o,
Wonderful Reminders Throughout the Day
I love Chill. Even on days when I say to myself, “I don’t have time to meditate,” The little reminders pop up throughout the day to remind me to pause and breathe.

My only complaint is that the reminders that pop up through the day can’t be pulled up by opening the app. When a reminder comes in, my screen is usually locked. But when I open the screen it’s gone and I can’t find it anywhere. Every once in a while if I swipe right they’ll be there along with all the other daily notifications, but that’s rare.

Chill, if you’re reading this, please add a feature that allows people to pull up all the mindfulness reminders that come in during that day from the app. Then it would be perfect!
Rhia Jarvis,
Lovely and minimal, but after a year the daily quotes just repeat
I’ve used this app consistently for a year, and I can say that I enjoy it much more than some of the other similar apps (like some other reviews noted, those tend to be more Hallmark-y). I like the simplicity, the reminders to turn my focus back to my center, etc.

However, now that I’ve used it for a year, I’ve realized that the daily quotes and accompanying images repeat on a cycle. I know this for certain, as I had saved a good number of them on the first pass, and now when I open my daily quote, it’s often already saved. In addition, I had taken screencaps of some quotes to share with others, so I can see that the same quote is displayed on the same day this year.

With all the Zen and Transcendentalist writing out there, I suppose I’d have expected the cycle to at least last more than a year!

Just What I Need
In this dizzying world of constant stimulation and demand for action, this app has given me the instant sense of peace and mindfulness I have needed countless times. It is exactly what I need it to be and nothing more, providing a daily graceful quote, an alluring picture, and an overall simplistic vibe. It has helped me with my phone addiction; when I am seeking stimulation to subconsciously escape from the present, I either just see the app logo or open the app and read the quote and I am immediately centered. What finally prompted me to write a review was the chuckle-worthy April Fools joke. These folks have a great vision and tasteful humor to go along with it.
MindfulInquiry,
Great app, questionable ads, especially for a mindfulness app
This is a delightful app with lovely quotes and reminders. I appreciate the content, variety, and the option for pop up reminded throughout the day.

For the creators, I keep seeing the ad “Is he cheating?” In big, bold text at the bottom (and similar types of ads). This is more bold that the quote, and although mindfulness does require choice and awareness in my thoughts, it’s less than helpful to have a wonderful mindfulness reminder competing with a fear campaign in the ad on the same page. I recognize and understand that these ads are necessary to generate funds/support for the developers, but is it possible to choose sponsors more mindfully?
Thank you for the consideration. And thank you for the simple and sweet app.

P.S. After writing this, I dug a little and found that I could pay $2.99 to remove the ads altogether. Worth it :)
Vpboland,
Really Wonderful
I've never reviewed an app on here before, but feel so strongly about this one that I decided it was warranted. I look forward to getting my new quotes in the morning and it puts me in a good mood when I receive them.

I work in a hectic, fast paced job environment and have the app set up to send me a few reminders throughout the day. I'll be racing around and get a reminder to be present & appreciate the moment or one that tells me to stop & take a deep breath, which might seem like a simple concept but it has helped reduce my stress level tremendously.

Thought Provoking and Beautiful
I have had this app for several years now and love that you can a) set a reminder to view daily inspiration, b) count on consistently inspiring and thought provoking sayings, c) rely on the images to be beautiful and unique, d) highlight your favorites for later, and e) count on the quotes to be different (I think I have seen two repeats ever).
I love how they recently started using more human imagery. When I see the beautiful and unique imagery of human faces, I feel more inspired to try to embody and put forth the inspiration provided.
Great app!
Nunyadamnwax,
Amazing
You wouldn’t think getting mindfulness reminders during the day could make a dramatic difference but I’m not exaggerating when I say that it has had a notice impact on my serenity.

I suggest actually taking a full 60 seconds or more to be mindful when the messages show up. I just couldn’t be more dumbfounded by the change in my attitude as I go through my day by such a simple thing. Have gotten 4 friends into it and we all love it.
Panda89Fox96,
Stupid quotes
This app used to have awesome quotes and I gave it another chance for like 2 weeks but every single quote is by a.) 90% of the time someone you’ve NEVER or will you EVER hear of and b.) absolutely useless or completely stupid quotes. I’ve finally broken down and deleted the app. Won’t waste my time with giving it a chance again. Like I said the quotes used to be awesome and whoever decided to change things up made a grave mistake. Download the Buddhist quote app or Bible quote apps. I mean seriously, anything but wasting your time on this. Reading these no name quotes is like reading fake quotes from the office know it all. “...... Hey Jessica, don’t forget that we cannot love ourselves unless we touch each other first.... deep huh?” No. Not deep at all. Dumb af. Bye.
GetWithBecca,
FAV app- use EVERYDAY
I have used this app for over 3 years, atleast. The quotes are some of the best, and they keep coming. I love that I can save them to my favorites as well as set up Daily mindfulness with an alarm 3 times per day to keep my mind filled with positive vibes! I hope the app eventually expands with more goodness, whatever it may be because it has become such an important part of my daily routine!! Wake up> chill app
sfraide,
Beautiful app inside and out
Searching through mindful apps I came across the Chill app. What initially stood out to me was the minimalist design. Beautiful typeface and sounds as well as the messages it presents throughout the day. I have told all my friends and even convinced one to download right then and there. A wonderful addition to the day.

Update: I’ve been using this app for years. Still one of my favorites.
