You can now set the bells to ring at random times. Just tap the "Ring Bell Every" button and then tap "Random".

There is also an option to use a quieter bell sound for when the normal bell is just too loud.

palomnik,
The Best One at the Best Price!
“I just sit by the river selling water” - saying of some Zen master.

The above phrase must have captured the imagination of a whole bunch of people who now sell mindfulness apps with ridiculous subscription prices. Those might be useful for beginners, but once you know how to meditate in a few different ways, you have it for life, and all you need is this app. This is the one to get for simplicity, but it is also highly configurable. For people who want to do the “Stop” exercise at random points, this one is also good.

The only improvement might be to connect the app to log meditation time to the Apple Health app, which has a mindfulness log function. Otherwise this one is perfect in its Zen simplicity.
awakenwp,
Hope this can be fixed…
Unfortunately when I click “get support” it opens up the developers website to allow me to click what app of theirs I need support with, and when I click it it redirects me back to the App Store where my only other recourse is to leave a review. So here it is..

This would be a lovely experience except for the fact that the bells do not fade out naturally, it instead are abruptly cut off. I cannot see any setting on my end to allow the bell to resonate to its natural conclusion. The abrupt and premature cutoff of the bell completely undermines what would otherwise be a fabulous experience.

I’ll update this review to reflect improvements if said improvements occur, or if I’m given guidance as to how to adjust something on my end to eliminate the issue. I have searched all options and don’t see how I could fix it via settings adjustments, but if I’m wrong, I’ll be glad to be proven so if it means I can fix the problem.
recoveringmale,
works, but...
This app works well enough for what it is. I grabbed it primarily because it was one of the few apps I could find that offered bells at random intervals; while these do work fine, I wish the app would actually display the correct number of remaining bells as they progress. Example: If you set it to ring randomly twice an hour, beginning at 10am and stopping at 9pm, it'll show a list of upcoming bells which all simply read '-random bell-', and shows the remaining bell count at 22. But as the bells begin to go off, this list remains unchanged, and the remaining bell count stays locked at 22. In other words, no indication of progress at all.
Again, this is a fairly minor issue considering they the app does what it's meant to do, but I wish they'd fix it so that the random bell times were actually displayed, and the remaining count kept accurate.
Zendeeno,
Mindfulness Bell is a pause I Love
Along with the Bell 🛎once an hour (I set the time) from The Plum Village App, this Mindfulness 🧘🏼‍♂️bell gives me Joy 🥰 as I PAUSE ⏸and reset 🎬or just SMILE. 😋Whatever gets us through whatever time we’re having each hour, I set my Bell to random. This makes it unknown to me when during the hour it sounds.
I recommend this TOOL to bring happiness, and as a reminder that any moment may bring suffering, yet not every moment can we come back to our self’s without a reminder to do so.
Free yourself for one moment of the hour as this beautiful sound engulfs your heart. ❤️
Be Well Friends.
Wuzfat10,000,
I like the simplicity and the bell sounds Some of the functionality does not work
I found this one looking for I’ll singing bowl chime as a meditation timer. The app had everything I wanted. It’s simple and straightforward which I appreciate. The only issue is that setting a custom time for meditation does not work. The functionality seems to not be there although there is an option for “custom“. This locks meditation and to 10 minute increments. It would be nice to be able to set the timer for 25 minutes for example.
PJ-S,
No go
I tried this product because Insight Timer doesn’t use the internal clock but relies on elapsed time, which gradually lags due to being interrupted by other audio programs (y’know, like the phone? Mindfulness Timer at least uses the internal clock...sorta.

I set up a timer schedule for every day, using the free default bell, but got sporadic results on my iPhone 6plus and my iPhone 8plus. Sometimes it would ring, most of the time not. I decided to try the subscription version. Major change: no results whatever and even at initiation it fails to ring the bell I chose and paid for. So I logged onto the mfg site, only to be very strongly warned that it was not only insecure but suspected of data theft. For my own protection I removed MT from both iPhones and requested a refund from Apple.

Wish I could give it a negative star or at least zero.
TooBusyByFar,
Very useful
This is very useful. I have trouble with my hands and need to do dexterity exercises frequently. I have this set to ring every 15 minutes. It rings once only so if I’m doing something I can’t interrupt it is easy to ignore, but otherwise it is enough of a reminder to stop and do the finger stretches.

The free version is excellent, no obnoxious ads or anything. I finally decided to upgrade the bells just to support the app.
Ryderrrrrrrr,
Help please
I LOVE this app. I’m a pretty tech savvy human but for the life of me I cannot figure out why sometimes the bell dings and sometimes it just vibrates. I’ve gone through all the settings I can find. Some help would be sincerely appreciated and I will update to 5 stars.
I use the bell every 15 minutes. It reminds me to breath deeply and drink water and has become a peacemaker in my life. I wanted to do every 10 minutes but that produced “too many bells per day” and I don’t know why one would add this limiting feature. Probably iOS limitations because this makes no sense to me for the apps sake. Still so awesome though THANK YOU!
D.Tuba,
Great app but drains battery
I like using this app for frequent re-centering reminders and for my daily meditation. But the meditation drains my battery. Just 20 minutes of meditation sucked more than 26% of my battery’s full capacity. And that’s with location disabled. Is there any way to have the meditation timer run in the background like the chime notifications? I think the meditation screen with the spinning globe keeps eating up my power, and while I do like having this screen up, it’d be nice to have the option of running the timer in the background.
PNWBond,
Company no longer exist???
I paid for the upgrade. It is not working. I have tried all troubleshooting options, reached out to apple, tried their troubleshooting links, nothing. Tried to contact the developer, and have been prompted several times, “no connection to server,” over a two week period. Tried googling the company and dead end there as well. I have used this app in the past and LOVED it. Was trying to use it again and then share it with a large community I am in but have hit a point where apple is just going to refund me. I am sad! If this company is still in business please fix! I, and others, want your product! 🥺
