It’s increasingly rare to find a mobile game that plays like a real game, nevermind one that’s truly free. This game has no ads and no paid currencies, for now, that I can see at least. It’s designed to be one-and-done, and this Hill Climb Racing-like can offer a small burst of entertainment for the exceedingly bored.
Unfortunately, it offers little more than that. The game feels incredibly low-effort, with the same identical location and tiny smattering of obstacles from level to level, and it takes little time for the 35 levels to ramp up in difficulty in intentionally frustrating ways, a likely effort to tack longevity onto what would otherwise be a short experience. Some especially dedicated or bored people will power through, but most of us will drop the game pretty quickly.
If you absolutely have to kill fifteen minutes or have a masochistic side, Chocobo GP’ may be for you. Otherwise, this soulless advert for the upcoming console game can be safely ignored.
