Description

The Intermountain Connect Care app allows you or your child to visit with an Intermountain Healthcare clinician for certain urgent care conditions using your phone or tablet. If you have cold or flu symptoms, sinus pain, sore throat, painful urination, a minor rash or skin issue, upset stomach, or other minor symptoms, use Connect Care 24/7/365 to quickly and conveniently get the care you need from wherever you are – just $69 a visit. Many insurance plans accepted.

Connect Care is a convenient, affordable way to get care from Intermountain clinicians. Our highly-trained, board certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants have many years of experience in urgent care, clinics, and hospitals, and are specially trained to provide care using telehealth. Your doctor will also be able to see the results of that visit in your medical record, and can incorporate it into your overall care. When appropriate for your condition, we can prescribe and deliver your prescription to your home or nearest pharmacy.

Connect Care is not appropriate for all conditions. If you are unsure of whether you are having a life-threatening medical emergency, or are experiencing any of the following, please go to your nearest ER:

• Chest pain or pressure
• Uncontrolled bleeding
• Sudden or severe pain
• Coughing / vomiting blood
• Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
• Sudden dizziness, weakness, change in vision, slurred speech, numbness, or other neurological changes
• Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
• Changes in mental status, such as confusion
• Assault, physical or sexual abuse, or child abuse

If you use Apple Health, you can choose to import your health information - such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose levels, weight, nutritional information, and respiratory rate – into your Connect Care account.

Love the iPhone tv dr visits
Even with a doctor in person, when you are talking to them you don’t have their undivided attention. And they seem like they are hurried. This phone tv visit they look at the camera right st me the whole time. Try aren’t looking at their iPhone or at my charts. Then they wait like they want to hear everything in your mind. They don’t make me feel rushed.

The only thing I don’t like is all the pre-visit stuff. That video at the beginning with the Intermountain big wig is lame. The wait time should give you a countdown. At the beginning it says a certain person is available. But by the time you do all the stuff, they are busy. Then you wait wait wait. Afraid to press cancel to not have to start over. So time until connection would be great.

Or, first do the interrogation, then show who is available.

I was a little hesitant about the whole thing but I’m visiting family out of state and just needed some help for a sore throat and swollen tonsils and the doctor was awesome! You can attach pictures before you connect with the dr so she could see that my throat was red and swollen and she was so nice and helpful. The wait wasn’t bad either. Much better than in a drs office or an urgent care that I was considering. The one thing that happened was it asked for my home address which I put Utah because that’s where I live but put California as my prescription pick up location because that’s where I’m visiting, and so the dr had to cancel our initial call because those need to match. But! She said to edit that info real quick and get back in her waiting line and she’d put me in the front of her line so it all worked out great. I’m very impressed and will definitely use it again

Awesome option!
I’ve used Connect Care four times now and had a positive experience each time. The providers have been excellent, compassionate, listen well, and have helped me. Connect Care has saved me time and money. My copay is cheaper when I see an online provider. I can wait in the privacy of my home and the wait has always been faster than when I have gone into physical clinics. I don’t have to worry about taking my kids with me or finding child care for them. The visits take less time. The providers have also given me notes for my employer when needed. It’s perfect for things that a doctor doesn’t need to actually conduct a physical evaluation to diagnose. If only they could find a way to do strep tests digitally! 🤣🤣 I will definitely use Connect Care in the future and I highly recommend it to others.

Why bother leaving your house if you don’t have to?
Just a basic sinus infection...
This was the most fantastic experience! I spoke to a provider from the comfort of my own home. What could be better? I didn’t have to drive anywhere or sit in a waiting room exposing myself to any new cold bug. The app was super easy to use on my iPhone. I pre-filled some medical information and then just waited about 10mins to be connected to a provider. When she came on, we had a split screen showing the two of us with her wearing a headset with microphone. She was incredibly nice and patient and gave me some good advice. The whole thing couldn’t have been simpler. Will definitely use this again!!

Terrible!
I wish I could give this a negative number! My daughter had impetigo symptoms and her face was breaking out. It was painful. We saw the doc on telehealth, he prescribed a topical and oral antibiotic but then never submitted the prescription!!!!! We waited half the day until we called the pharmacy and they said no prescription ever arrived. Meanwhile my daughters sores and discomfort continued to worsen. When I called to see if we can talk to the doc again, we were told we would have to pay for another appointment. They told us we needed to be approved for resubmitting a prescription and when I asked how long would that take, they couldn’t tell me!?!? So my daughter is in pain and instead of getting the medicine she needed to stop the spread of the lesions we waste the whole day getting the run around! I wish we could have emailed the doctor directly and ask what happened to our prescription or been able to call a receptionist and get a message to the doc. This was a terrible experience, a waste of our money, and everyone’s time.

waste of my time
I have had flu like symptoms, high fever, extreme nausea and vomiting, aches, etc. for three days now and finally contacted the doctor today because i wasn't making any improvements. The doctor told us he was sending in a prescription for anti nausea medication. My dad went to our pharmacy to pick it up, but no prescription had ever been submitted. We then went through two tiers of customer service just to be told it may take them 24 hours to get back to us and the best bet would be to do another online visit (pay more money.) We called and got a message to the doctor who proceeded to put a prescription in, yay! right? Wrong. The prescription was for a pill my insurance wouldnt even cover. We are now waiting for this to be resolved and its been a waste of me and my family's time. Just trying to get medicine to make me feel better has taken hours and we still have yet to have any solution. Absolutely ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

Interface needs more platform testing
The care I eventually received was great, but the user interface of the app was clunky to say the least. I first tried to enroll on my ipad, but couldn’t even scroll down to the bottom required item on the form. A sit button pops up while there are still more fields of the form to fill in and floats over the prompts, making them difficult or impossible to read. Alas, once you forget your way all the way to the last quotation, you can’t fill in the required field because the persistent floating button obscures the entry field.

Then, after giving up and going through the process on my iPhone, and after inputting my insurance info (that last field I couldn’t get to) and proceeding, two screens later, I was prompted for the same insurance info AGAIN.

The care was great, the app needs some serious UX love!

Intermountain Connect Care is the best thing ever!
I have kids who are high risk for flu, one of them tested positive today at instacare and negative for strep and after a thorough evaluation with an on-site doc, the one child who has Influenza, then the PA with connect care was then able to check the records, evaluate the medical histories and I was able to get my other high risk kids prophylactic coverage without having to drag the entire family into an urgent care. 🙏 Saved us all from being exposed to who knows what else was lingering in the waiting room. By the way, she was very nice and completely understanding of our situation. Love it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So Grateful!!!
I always forget about Connect Care even though I have the app on my phone, but I am so grateful that I had this option today! I logged on at 6:45 am and saw Susan Dougherty at 7. She was patient and thorough and spent a long time helping me determine my best course of action for my awful cough. The thought of getting down to an urgent care office and sitting and worrying that I was going to have my uncontrollable coughing fits for all to worry about, just stressed me out.

But, I was still in my pajamas with my coffee in hand and my trusty pup by my side when I was able to be seen. I used my phone. I will go pick up my prescription when the pharmacy opens and be ready for my day.

Since I had set this account up a couple years ago, I was able to just log in and all of my information was already in the system.

It is well worth setting up! Such a relief!

Oh my gosh! This app saved me! I had woken up 2 nights in a row with symptoms that of course subsided when during the day. At 2:30AM I was miserable and my only option was a very expensive trip to the emergency room for a simple anti-biotic. The app worked seamlessly! The doctor was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, asked great questions! Now I’m off to the 24/7 pharmacy! I have meetings starting at 8:00 AM tomorrow which would have further delayed my ability to get help! And no waiting at Urgent care and risking getting someone else’s sickness! Thank you!
