sukioriginal,
So disappointing!!! Should be call idontCare app.
We went the extra mile ($$$$) and purchased the CoWay wifi “S” units - 3 of them totaling well over $1000 - so we would have the convenience of using the their app. We noticed the app had a very low rating which did not match up with the reviews on the purifiers themselves - but we trusted the company and figured the low ratings were wrong. Well, LOW RATING WELL DESERVED. This app is pathetic. It’s is a completely frustrating waste of time. Have to reset password almost daily and it eats up valuable time!! Cannot believe the CoWay company would allow it’s customers to experience such an abysmal app after working so hard to put out a decent highly rated air purifier. The app is supposed to be a convenience and would be if it worked properly. Get it together people. What’s up with this app???!!!!! Please FIX IT!!!!! Otherwise we want our money back and we’ll go with the non-wifi units. They can’t afford to get some good tech people to update and fix this app??? Shame on you CoWay. This is a poor representation of your company.

Literally the worst app ever - don’t buy smart version
The app recently updated and now it literally directs you in circles and will not permit you to access the controller on the app to adjust automatic programming. I have an Airmega 300s. The app has been clunky but okay up u til now. Now it prompts you to “transfer your coway membership to the new coway membership”. Ok, so I did that. But once you do that, nothing happens. It keeps telling you to update the membership again and again and when you do, it STILL will not recognize your login. Also to recover a password or ID you have to enter your mobile number. Presumably it is looking for a Korean number because it calls a 9 or 10 digit US number an “invalid mobile number”. The app sucked before but it’s a train wreck now. Save your money and buy the “dumb” version of this air filter. The smart version is useless.
karefree1,
Generally satisfied
I have a 400S.
It wasn’t clear that I had to set up an account on the web to officially register my product. The process to set up the app made it seem like my air purifier was registered when I finished. It wasn’t. That should be made clearer.
It took me forever to register my product on the app. After I scanned the barcode, it asked for the number under the barcode. I tried to enter it and was rejected a few times. I finally tried to enter it without the spaces and was successful. That should also be mentioned in the instructions.
The red dots on the air quality graph that indicate the highest readings for those time period are so small that I can barely see them on my phone’s screen. Just a point size larger would be helpful.
Other than those issues, I’ve been happy with the app.
Keetz24,
Airmega 400S wifi
After having this device since October 2020, I have finally able to connect it to WiFi(Google Nest Wifi). Here are the steps I took:
1. Create a guest network
2. Connect phone to the guest network
3. Force close all apps on the phone
4. Open the Coway app, if the device is already registered, delete it and register again
5. Put the device in Wifi pairing mode and start the wifi connection setup in the app
6. Where it says to wait for the chime, ignore that. Just keep going through the steps even if the device is not ready yet
7. Joining the device to the wifi will fail the on the first attempt. Just repeat the step it failed on again and it should connect
Note, I did not bother making sure I was on a 2.4ghz band, as the troubleshooting states. I was able to connect the device just feet from the router.

I tried connecting it on my main network, but it lost connection an hour or so after connecting. I have since moved the device back to the guest network and it’s been solid. Kind of a bummer I have to have a guest network now, but at least the device is connected.
Foad,
Don’t buy the “smart” version
I never write reviews, but this has been the most frustrating products I have used in years. I’ve had the 400S for the last 2 years, and the app has barely made any improvements. It used to be unusable, then it got a couple updates that made it sort of usable. It was barely working for a while and now, out of nowhere, it says the AIRMEGA isn’t connected to WiFi - which isn’t true because it shows up on my list of connected devices on my router and the WiFi light is solid. I’ve followed all the troubleshooting and none of it has worked. Save yourself the money and get the standard version. Even then, I would be cautious, because it’s unbelievable that a company that charges such a premium thinks it acceptable to not fix these issues after years of people complaining.
Mark Spivey,
WiFi guide needs a little clarity
As others have mentioned it doesn’t connect easily but once you figure it out it works fine. You need to ensure after the password is entered and it dings 5 times you answer yes at the prompt to use cellular data. If you don’t it will never finish. If you do it finishes. Tested this a few times just to be sure. Others having this issue be sure cellular data is enabled as your phone will be connected to the device and not your WiFi. Works fine on a UniFi AP with auto settings on which usually breaks some IoT devices.

Also helps to be connected to the wireless network you want it on and not auto joining others during this part.

Easy & Convenient - Works Good
Purchased Airmega 300S and installed the app. Setting up was easy and the app was also easy to use. Convenient app as I can control it through the app. (Power, Timer, Mode including smart mode, Fan speed, Light) Notifications for change of air condition were good. The Airmega is relatively small but covers over 1200sqft. I have 4 Dyson air purifiers and this my first Coway air purifier. I’m very satisfied with it and actually by far the best air purifier I’ve ever had even over the Dyson. Will probably buy another 300S or a different Coway air purifier model for experiencing more about Coway air purifiers.
kas7105,
Decent air purifier, but skip the “smart” versions
I have the “smart” versions of the 300 and 400, and both do a good job of cleaning the air, but the app to control them is absolutely worthless. Both devices go offline at least once a week, and while there IS a process to reconnect them that usually works, it’s unnecessarily time-consuming, to the point that I just don’t bother with it anymore. It’s definitely not a connection issue on my end; I have a house full of wifi-enabled stuff, and no other device gives me this level of grief. Also, even when the app works, it takes about 30 seconds to open (it’s “updating,” it says, but what, exactly? Definitely nothing that’s ever made the “smart” feature actually work!).
Jalhockey,
Horrible experience
I own the airmega 300 smart version and after the last update my machine is now not connecting via WiFi. Before this I’ve used the app which constantly needed updates and was a little lack luster but worked. But over the last month whatever bug Airmega tried to fix rendered my Airmega useless via my smart phone. Nothing has changed on my end as far as router or setting to my network. I could get the app to see and pair with my router but then it would time out when trying to get to the internet. Now it’s connecting but dropping connection as I try to use my iPhone. When you pay as much money for this device as I have and then it doesn’t work you get pretty upset, I’ll be calling customer service tomorrow to see if I can get some help with this issue. Buyer beware.
10 Xbox User,
None of the issues others have had
This app works totally fine for me. I am able I control the device, set a schedule, monitor the air quality, and setup was totally fine. The only little annoyance I had was pushing the two WiFi setup buttons on the air filter at exactly the same time to get the connection process to start. That took me 5 tries, but once I got that you have to push both at EXACTLY the same time it was seamless to get the connection established. The only feature not working is the outdoor air quality measure. I will try to figure that out. It may be that I just haven’t waited long enough post activating the air filter.
