MY STORY
I am Norbert, and even as a half-German, I struggled with der, die, das. As my daughter was born and I started to talk in German with her, I wanted to make sure, she hears the right articles from early on.
Grammar books are not much help, and even if you find some rules, they are incomplete, dry and hard to remember so the idea of the best ever Der, Die, Das app was born."

$3 for a good drilling tool
Genders in German is one of the hard things that you just need to drill to get good at, so having a simple game like this that lets you do that in short bursts, and explaining WHY each word is what gender, is pretty great.
The only improvement would be to add audio too, even if it’s just a robotic voice generator. Those sound bits get stuck in your head like music does, which can help you memorize words and their attached articles better. I hope the developer adds that at some time.
But despite that one thing, for the one time price of $3 this app is deserving of 5 stars. I highly recommend it to any German learners. The free version is also good for the price, so you might as well try it out.

Beautiful and more engaging than most!
I am appreciating this game and it was worth $3 for the adless version! A couple suggestions:
• The new noun appears as a layer underneath the Der-Die-Das buttons, and has an ease on its upward movement which creates some drag in the game as I have to wait to see the word and especially its definition. I would love if the new nouns were positioned to be fully visible right away.
• there’s also a lag issue for me as the more complex (yet very beautiful) scenes load, such as the Brandenburger rainstorm.
• if the game could tell which nouns you got wrong at first and show those more often than the ones you always get right, this could be a more helpful study tool.
• I like that levels are gradually unlocked. Further motivation could be created by the words moving faster as the points go higher, as well as a definite end to each round. When I got to the third category in a set, I played it way longer than was fun because I was waiting for another “unlock” reward that didn’t come.
This game is well on its way to be one of the best in its category in the app store, and a few of these gameification tweaks would really help it shine and solve the big issue foreigners face learning noun genders! Thanks for you hard work!

Super helpful!
I grew up hearing German from my relatives, but not enough to be fully bilingual, and my biggest weakness in speech production has always been that I never memorized articles. If you are in a similar situation where you already have a big German vocabulary but need reenforcement of articles, this app is ideal. Well worth $3, provides very helpful tips, and you can see improvement with your articles by playing for just a few minutes per day. Thank you!
I can see that this would be harder to implement, but I would love a similar game to drill plural forms, since that is also a point of difficulty for me!

The app enables a quantum leap for German genders
This app makes it great fun to learn the german articles. The fact that everytime you make a mistake it links you to the lesson that applies for the noun is what really made it all connect and reinforced what I learned. Other apps where I just get things wrong but don't know why just lead to frustration.

Having trouble getting the premium version
I am having issues trying to pay for the premium version. It first wants me to confirm my payment at the Apple Store, then it asks me to confirm again with a PayPal account. Two problems with this. First, I’m not using PayPal for this. Second, the PayPal account that pops up isn’t mine! I tried deleting it, but it won’t let me do that. At this time, I’m going to pass on the premium version. 🤔

Best learning app!
Got the upgrade for only 2.99! Really cute and fun to use. Have a lot of memory rules that are easy to remember and a huge number of vocabulary. If you are new/intermediate level learner. Get this app! You won't regret.

Love the app, please fix the bugs!
I’m having a great time and learning a lot, BUT please fix the Basic Animals. I’m popping balloons because the app is scoring different words than the game is showing.
One other thing, does it go on for all eternity? I took my first 3 games to 200, got bored and moved on.

Unsure how to complete
This app is really helping me to learn articles, but like other reviewers said, I don’t know how to complete a level. I completed one level seemingly as soon as I got all the words right in one go, but I have streaks of 101 and 71 for two other levels with under 30 words each and they haven’t been marked as completed.

Get ad free it’s worth it!
This is a great app. Without it I get zero right (it’s like I’m perfect for getting these absolutely wrong). With it I get them a section all correct in 10 minutes. Well worth it and fun!

Errors
I love the concept but it keeps popping balloons (saying it’s wrong) then telling me it was what I picked. It isn’t teaching the wrong use it’s just not seeing that’s what I chose. It’s the same words every time so it’s really frustrating since the point is to work up your number of correct answers.
