One of the best RPGs
I have been a fan of this series ever since finding the 3rd installment back when it was new on kongregate. Each new game continued to impress me, and this one is no different. I have over 140 hours on the steam version of this game, and can say it is easily one of my favorite RPGs I’ve ever played. The combat system is truly refreshing, offering many different strategies that are all viable. The characters interact in fun ways that make the party feel more alive and dynamic. Plus, there is so much content to this game. For free, you easily have dozens of hours of content, with the option to purchase extra content that adds on dozens of more hours. Also, for those that like a more challenging experience, there are tons of difficulty options and very satisfyingly difficult bosses, especially in the extra dungeons and beyond. Overall, a terrific game with a passionate developer.

Love. This. Game.
I may not have that much gameplay time on the IOS version, but I played EBF 3 and 4 a bunch; and I have at least 20 hours in the desktop version. I positively love the series, references, silliness, music, and the developers. This would always earn a five star from me. Only thing I’m wondering is an issue with the sound.
There is this odd audio skipping, I don’t know what else to call it, that happens with the music. There’s occasional moments where it really does just sound like a skipping record with brief bursts of static in those skips. It’s happened to me on all forms of audio, and I have to wonder is it because of my phone model? I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max; so I’m sure it’s possible that the issue is related to that. Otherwise, I’m clueless. Still love the game though! Just wish the audio wasn’t skipping on the music; because I’ve always loved the EBF music.

ITS FINALLY HERE
Glad to see so many others have bumped this to an instant 5. EBF as a series caries with it the legacy of Flash Games on the internet, the original Indie scene. It is the culmination of many years of one man’s testing and playing with RPG designs. It’s fun, funny and most importantly, free. You will be getting a full 50 hour (depending on how long you spend messing around with item load outs) game for free. And if you pay for the full version, new weapons items and optional dungeons will be opened up. And this isn’t some run of the mill RPG maker game with static assets either, it’s lovingly animated, everything is always moving making the world feel quite alive. The fact that all of this is packed into less than a gigabyte is proof of Matt’s mad skills. Grab this game as a time waster, you will not be disappointed.

Truly excellent game
This is a wonderful game in every way. There’s so much to do. So much to explore. Never a dull moment playing this game and as I am reaching the end, I can only say that I can’t wait to replay it. I’ve been playing video games since the 80’s and I loved Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior (aka Quest) and Zelda. This game can rightfully take its place with all the aforementioned greats. Yes- it’s really that good. You can definitely play to the end without spending any money. But why wouldn’t you- for a small fee you can buy extra content. And game this good shouldn’t be free. The developer certainly deserves payment for this gem. I love this game and just hope the other epic battle fantasy games find their way to IOS. Thank you for a beautiful made game.

Great hidden gem!
I play lots of mobile games and well okay let say I delete lots of mobile games lol get tired of so many because of the whole gotacha design. I’m either gonna pay for a game and have the game of play a free game that isn’t full of nonstop add and PTW. This games is great from the start the story doesn’t take itself to seriously “tons of jokes”but there is still a story to hold you in. I like the turned based combat system that remind me of early console rpgs. Great upgrades, customization and overall depth to this beautiful game. Definitely one I would highly recommend picking up.

Great game, highly recommend
I played this a little while ago on a different device and had an absolute blast. I personally think that the combat is fun, the story is enjoyable (although I never finished) and the characters are lovable. Also just thought I’d point out that this is the first time in my life I’ve seen any game with a decent amount of ratings that has an average of 5 stars, not 4.5, not 4.9, 5, just 5 and that’s incredible and really shows how good the game is

Nostalgia and Joy
I remember playing EBF1 back when I was still in elementary and how much joy I felt. Growing up I kept playing each EBF that was released and cherishing each memory and experience I have growing up with Matt, Natalie, Lance, Anna, and NoLegs. Now I get to enjoy that experience on the go and now more people can experience the same incredible adventure and fantasy I went on growing up.
All I can say is…I’m so happy to see this game on mobile and that I can have more adventures with The Players.

Ive played all the previous games and when I learned I could play this one on mobile I was thrilled.
Does not disappoint! If you’ve liked the others you’ll love this.
If you’re new, the combat system is relatively simple, the tongue in cheek humor is hilarious. Most of the various Artwork is fan made from previous, or for this game.
This game is 100% worth of the investment of your time.

Your the best Matt
Much like many others, I discovered the 3rd game on new grounds and have been a hardcore fan ever since. Everything from Phyrnna’s killer soundtracks which keep getting better to all the attention to detail and beautiful graphics. It all culminated in this masterpiece of a game. Now I play it a second time on my phone with a couple new bells and whistles I didn’t see on release day.

This made me so happy…..
A little disappointed in the lack of good holiday season sales I turned to new games for something that might appeal. I was shocked—SHOCKED—to see this one in the store as I really loved the first few in the series way back in the day. The same fun humor is there, as are the gameplay mechanics…as well as the hidden chests and other secret areas. It feels like an amazing Christmas surprise—just…for….me….
