Fade In Mobile is a companion app for Fade In Professional Screenwriting Software for working with Fade In (.fadein) files. It is specifically designed to work with the unique interface and capabilities of your mobile device.

Ok
Good to get extra work done by changes don’t always save. It said my work was last modified at 3 PM. I exit out of the app, change the font, and all my work for the last thirty minutes has been erased.

This app is the worst I’ve ever had to endure yet it’s better than other screenwriting apps
Yo let me tell you something about this horrendous app. Warning my experience with the app “Fade In” is absolutely painful! Whenever I type my script using it lags or receives glitches and in worse cases it DELETES SCRIPTS from the app that I’ve wrote previously. It shocks me how actual screenwriters use this app to write actual films yet the quality isn’t that good, it’s just a mediocre app that has a only a few better qualities! At worst the app is the worst app I’ve ever used. I’m trying to deal with it for now but if this app doesn’t receive any updates I’m giving this a 1 star rating. I don’t care, I won’t hold back!

I love FADE IN but the Mobile app is now a hassle vs an asset
I have been using Fade In pro on my computers with no problems. However I have recently switched to the iPad Pro as my main work horse and I have issues with Phantom Caps Lock and problems with scripts opening as well as just navigating the script.
When I first got the app it was fine never had any issues but then I recently had a problem where caps lock randomly staying on after I do a scene heading or type a character name.
The app gets stuck when opening a project i have been working on. I have to close and open the program back up multiple times and just pray every time that it opens. I have been exporting my script every time I exit just so I know I have access to the fade in project else where.
And lastly I have been having an issue just navigating the script and a delay when typing. The delay in typing (Not my keyboard because i don't have delays in any other app on my iPad)
I really do love this app but Its becoming a hassle more than an asset at this point.

Great and Convenient, But Outdated
I use the app on my ipad and phone and I just love it. It’s a great alternative instead of carrying a laptop around, but my only gripe is just the lack of updates. I can’t type in real time. I don’t know if it’s my phone or the app itself, but trying to type on the app is a nightmare.

I was going to get this app for my Mac book…But. I might have to rethink that
The app doesn’t work fully on the iPad. You can’t create a project on the iPad only edited as long as you uploaded it with your iPhone. There is no dual dialogue, you can’t create a title page. You delete a file when you go out the app it will be back up on the list of projects.

Runs to slow
Unfortunately this app doesn’t even work on my iPad. I have the latest iPad Pro 12.9 running ipad OS 15.3.1. Up to date as of the time I’m writing this. Also running the latest Fade In version and I closed all other apps. But this app runs way to slow. I’ll type 4 or 5 words and I just sit and watch it write 1 letter per second. All I want to do is write my script and this is so frustrating.

Bluetooth Keyboard Lags.
While using the app on my iPad Air it lags DRASTICALLY while while typing with a Bluetooth keyboard. Keyboard is great and works perfectly well with ANY other app. This is an odd glitch. What am I missing? Love the desktop/laptop version of the app but sometimes it’s a lot more convenient to travel with iPad.

Love Fade In, but I need to be able to export.
So I have all of the usual suspects for cloud storage: OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, etc, but FadeIn won't let me export to any of them for some reason.

Keyboard lag on iOS
Functionality worthless. Typing a word on iOS stutters. I’ll have input an entire word and be starting on the next and this app will input only certain keys and drop others, all the while locking the phone and being unresponsive.

Convenient but I would love it if...
This app is very convenient. I recently replaced my laptop with an iPad and that is the sole place where I write so I needed to move to this Mobile version. It’s simple and doesn’t glitch. After leaving Final Draft behind, FadeIn is a wonderful program that I can’t recommend enough.
Since this isn’t just an app that I use while I’m traveling or away from my laptop, it would be great if it included the following:
Auto capitalization - if there’s a way that I can change that in the settings, please let me know. I am totally spoiled by that feature in the full price version.
Character name recognition and auto fill - It’s VERY tiresome to have to type in full names each time, especially in a dialogue-heavy scene. Again, spoiled by the paid version.
Sync to the paid version - If someone purchased the full price version, it would be nice if this app would sync to it and allow us to pull our existing work from it. It took me a long time to figure out why my files in Dropbox weren’t showing up in the app until I searched through the FI website’s help page and found that the folder containing your FI files needed to be a sub folder, not a main folder. I created one called WORK and drug my WRITING folder into it and voila!
All in all, this app is more than worth the price and I will continue using it but I hope that some of the conveniences of the paid version can be incorporated into it.
