Great, but could be better

This great is great. Very entertaining, a lot to keep you busy. The idea of the co-ops is nice because it can be difficult to farm alone and having help getting supplies and energy is an added bonus. I have two big issues with the game- exotic animals and decorating/editing your farm. Exotic animals add almost nothing to the farm experience. They are only needed for a select few items, however it is very difficult to level up and progress without spending a lot of gold. Missions are far too hard and it is way too difficult to level up animals to make them easier. I have a level 56 farm and can’t make it past level 11 exotic quests. Additionally it is very hard to edit and decorate your farm. Each item must be selected individually meaning if you need to move a fence, you have to move it piece by piece and it is not possible to completely zoom to see the extent of your farm so it’s very time consuming and difficult. This would be less of an issue if you unlocked sections of farm in a normal pattern but that would be too easy. If they could find a way to adjust the difficulty of exotic animals or make them easier to level up and improve the dynamics of editing your farm, this would be a 5 star game

Good game but needs some adjustments

I like the game a lot, it’s really good and there is a lot to do and there are always events which is nice.
My issues are exotic animals and decorating the farm.
There needs to be a better way to edit and move items. Like the fences, you have to move each piece one at a time and if you have 100 pieces of fence, your clicking and holding to the drag and drop 100 pieces. You can’t zoom out very farm so you only see a little bit of the farm and have to wait for the screen to move while your trying to drag and drop each piece. Exotic animals are dumb, the houses for them take up a lot of space and they don’t do anything for the farm other than help get a couple items needed to make other things. It takes a lot to lvl them. It’s ridiculous how much gold has to be spend to lvl them just a tiny bit. It needs adjusted and made easier to lvl the animals for exotic quests. There are tons of lvls for exotic missions and I’m stuck on lvl 11. I have probably spend close to 100k gold just trying to lvl a couple of exotic animals. Evolving them is ridiculous too. Even more gold you have to spend to lvl them. Gold is hard enough to save in the game as everything costs so much. Just to build a leather shop is 20k. You won’t be able to get very far in this game unless you can spend real money on diamonds to turn into gold and use on other things. I’ve gotten to lvl 46 and have had to spend plenty of real cash to get to that lvl.

Log, Weeds, & Rocks

Isn’t the whole point of a leveling system, to be able to eventually use your energy more efficiently. It’s pretty ridiculous that the three things you need the most level up with you. What the point in leveling farm hands if the consumption is going to get more and more the harder you grind. There’s no winning. You’re simply creating another maddening algorithm to cause players to have to buy gems to spend on materials to hopefully get enough farm hand cards to level up just so they can have to spend more money to level up again. The game is already a money pit. Plus, y’all removed my last review which was about the quest system. Kind of funny how you have such high ratings. Guess that’s easy to accomplish when you remove the lower ratings. This game is friendly to people that have lives and want something fun to play. I’m all about throwing a little money in to a game to get the upper hand. But There’s no end to this games ability to empty your wallet. Why would anyone spend money to end up in a harder position then before. It’s only worth my money if I get to feel like I’m accomplishing something. Which I don’t, when the logs on the ground level up with me?!? This one aspect is absolutely crazy. Give it a break. This game is probably worth millions already. Let players feel like they didn’t waste there money just to get beat by a weed they can pull without using a days worth of in game energy which cost a ridiculous amount of gems to refill.

Frustrating.

Update: This game is fun but so maddening. The bottom portion of my review is from 2 months ago where I describe my experience of the game freezing and I deleted and reinstalled the game of course, losing everything I gained in 20 levels. After reinstalling, it was great. I get up to level 43. Now (again) there’s a mandatory update and it’s stuck… again. The exact thing that happened the first time I installed it. So now, I can’t get past the upgrade tutorial. SERIOUSLY?! I’ve made SEVERAL purchases for this game and if it doesn’t resolve within the next few days, I’m deleting it and I will NOT reinstall it. It’s ridiculous!!

2 months ago: I’ve been playing FV3 for about a week. It’s been great but there’s been a hiccup. I paid $5 for the season pass. The game FORCES the player to go through the instructions to the season pass event and how it all works and the bonus perks you’ll receive. Great! I’ve bought season passes multiple times on another game. Here’s the issue: the tutorial will freeze up at the same point every time. I can’t get to my farm. I cannot do anything on the game UNTIL I go through that tutorial. Either allow experienced players X out of the tutorial or fix the bug that’s making it freeze. I’ve closed the game and opened again 3 times. Freezes. I went to my App Store to see if I can update, nope. Everything else is great with the game but fix the freeze. Surely I’m not the only one who has had this issue.

Pacing of game seems off.

Very addictive game, and I am enjoying it so far. The animals are adorable and I like the filling orders aspect. Although there seems to be a big pacing issue with the game. You can’t earn coins fast enough with the levels you gain. I am constantly having to debate unlocking a new area or building a new building/animal pen. For example, I currently have 2 new spaces to unlock as well as 3 buildings, and still need to buy apple trees. I never open the chests I get because I never have money or gems to spare. So they all get sold for 10 coins. The order board constantly asks for items you haven’t unlocked yet. Some items are locked behind animal quests and you don’t get enough strong exotics or elixirs to proceed with the quests, plus half the time you use your energy to get the fruit for orders instead of attempting the quests. I am constantly out of room in my silo and barn, and the tools to upgrade it come by pretty slow. Plus when you have to have 4 of each tool in your barn, it takes up 12 spaces of space you are already lacking. There’s also so many things going on at once.. sky race, food truck, boats, orders, visitors…. I would love to have some nice stockpiles in my barn to prepare me for all the different types of orders but I don’t have room. All in all I feel like the only way to keep up is to buy coins and gems, which ruins the game for me in a way. Happy farming!

Very cute game-but lose the exotic animals

The graphics, music and gameplay are engaging. The animals are cute (the different breeds are clever) and I like the idea of the co-op, competition with others but also a little community to help one another. My major complaint about the game is the exotic animals. They do not add anything to the farm feel. The challenges are a game of luck and too difficult for me to progress. So currently, with a farm at level 29, I'm stuck at 8 with no weather booster or water tower unlocked. Very frustrating. Also, the exotics only take up space, and if you want to add better animals, you have to sacrifice useable land to build their habitats. Maybe I approach my “farm” from a more aesthetic or ecological standpoint, but I’m not clear-cutting everything to set up CAFO’s. When I explore other members farm’s, that’s pretty much all I see. Ditch the exotics and find another way to incorporate the items you win by playing- Now I only use those missions for avocados/pineapples/mangos/resin, since it takes too much “energy” to play a guessing game in my order to advance in exotic levels. But like I said, the rest of the game is very cute. PS Maybe adjust the “make” times for some of the items. Allow some farm animals to be sold before breeding.

Greedy fun game- Zynga profiting off loyal players

October 2022 Update: my entire co-op is so frustrated I need to say something! And I hope the developers hear about it and thing about this. The new food truck/Halloween quest going on right now is so unobtainable. We have all been working on it, non stop, ignoring all other farm tasks and still won’t make it to the end in time. The bonuses are too difficult based on the time it takes to grow and make the cherrys. Did anyone there try this task themselves??! You would have to spend money, and a lot of it, because 50 diamonds an item?? My co-op and I are really fed up and disappointed in this. Do you want us to enjoy this game ?
Come on Zynga. Help some players out once in a while.

Update: after a note from the developers suggesting a “work around”- no- your servers were down most of the day for maintenance - not a work around situation. Lol Game won’t load today, gets hung up on start page and keeps saying it needs to reload……..and interesting my review of the game was deleted where I said that Zynga has gotten greedy, used to be rewards when new land was unlocked for free, like a treasure chest, now you are forced to buy it. Stop being so greedy Zynga. We spend a lot, and no real reward for it. The Cash gets you no where. If someone is willing to spend, at least make it a good value. Way to expensive. 40 diamonds to make one tiny plot of soil ready to harvest. SMH. Greed. Just greed.

Interesting

Easier version of original Farmville with lots of different quest going on but have to be smart and patient in this game if you are going to play without making a purchase. Hope you like pigs because you will get them 4 out of 6 creat drops to bad you are not allowed to sell them until they have mated and baby has grown.
You would think that a farm would have a TOOL SHED to hold upgrade part separately from regular inventory but as with Country Escape its included in with your other inventory items, which can eat up to 20 slots in your inventory, suggest pick the one you want to increase and sell rest of parts.
Use diamonds to increase work station slots Do Not waist earned diamonds on trunks not worth it, spent 100 diamonds on currency trunk got 200 coins should have been 2000. Keys are useless too because again will take up to 20 slots in inventory before you have enough to even use, sell those too not worth the items you will get and gives you more space for your inventory.
Be prepared to use more energy to clear items as you advance in levels, tells you to train farmhand to save energy but doesn’t work that way after level 20 they use more energy than they use too.

Needs a change

I’ve played FarmVille for a very long time. This version is fun however it’s redundant. I get switching up the events and everything but it’s the same prizes each time and it gets kinda boring. I love my co op but we don’t get high enough points to get more chests. So I’m finding it very hard to evolve these exotic animals without the manuscript or tooth. And I don’t want to purchase this. I should be able to win these more. Can’t you every once in a while have an exotic quest for those items and not just the acorn and leaf? The seasons pass is always the same prizes. You spend all this money and time leveling up the exotic animals and they don’t really do anything. I can have the highest animal there and I’ll lose. It’s the same prizes as well. It’s just getting redundant and it’s hard for someone who likes this game to continue to keep playing as the excitement goes away. Also when I do trade in my exotic tokens to get a new exotic animal it’s always the same ones….monkey turtle penguin. You can tell it’s a scam. Even when I have the blue one! You only are making this possible to get the best things if you pay out of your pocket. Not cool. Switch things up please.

Lots of problems - needs a lot of work to make it appealing

The game relies on the cuteness factor too much, and it takes too long to achieve most goals, the amount of currency or real money purchases is far too expensive for the items/upgrades received. That is one big disincentive so far. The energy needed to clear land, pursue the exotic animal quests, and acquire certain items (wood, clay, stone, etc.) is far too much, making play slow and arguably impossible at times. For instance, trying to clear land to rearrange or build is frustrating when you have weeds and wood reappearing but not enough energy to clear a space at one time. In my version, I have no means to make cream (at level 18 now) despite having all of the production buildings, cows, etc. I tried to contact Help & Support and the chat feature was atrocious. No means to email either, from what I can discern. In the chat feature, it restricts what you can input, demands my email (nope), and gives me choices not even relevant to my initial questions (about the cream). Oh, and acquiring animals is far too slow and expensive. They die after the baby is grown, and so it is a diminishing returns situation. Trying to acquire animals from deliveries is SLOW and you have no choice in the animal delivered - I don’t need more pigs. I’m already frustrated with this game and not getting enough satisfaction. Ready to delete.
