Fun without loot boxes
The game is a good balance of free to play and possible pay to play. I’ve enjoyed dozens of hours and am still progressing in the PvP and canned challenges. All without buying anything in the game. You can’t binge too long for free but the recovery pace and earnings for advancing your team are appropriate and keep pace with the people obviously paying for the specials. You just have to pay more attention to the strategy and tactics.

Money Grab
As a huge fan of Fieldrunners 2, it’s disappointing to see the developer switch to a blatant pay to win, money grabbing, IAP model designed to create maximum anxiety and addiction. In order for this to function as a normal video game, you would have to consistently shell out hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a regular basis. These types of games should be avoided at all costs. I purchased Fieldrunners 2 and Fieldrunners 1 at full price and never made an IAP. Those games were fun, engaging, rewarding, and deserving of the multiple awards they received. This is pure trash, designed solely for the purpose of transferring as much money as possible from your wallet in to the developers coffers. Wanna speed up the wait clock? Just buy more gems! Want to build more buildings? Buy more gems! Want to fight more? Buy more gems! Want to upgrade your heroes? Buy more gems! Need more resources? Buy more gems! Want to heal your characters? Buy more gems! Subatomic Studios has created something that is little different from a slot machine, except you don’t win anything. There is no finish line. Only more chances to purchase more gems.

Fun game. Bugs are not addressed in a timely manner
The forum to submit bugs doesn't work. For more than almost 2 weeks, I can't view how the alliance is doing on stars nor can I view leaderboards. This is unacceptable. Many times the barracks start countdown at the start of seeing the map.

I refuse to buy anything from you again in this game until you start caring about it. I'm getting hopeful that things are back on track but am not fully convinced yet.

Last thing: it might be in your interest to rethink your pricing model. I wouldn't give my sons $20 for a game upgrade but I might give them a few dollars. I think you are missing out on income with the current pricing. Drop the price and give less value per purchase. It'd be worth trying out. Also, why not look at some "special deal" pricing on some item(s) when you reach some milestone (say every 5th level). Just my $.02.

Ruined a classic 😤
I love, love, love Fieldrunners 1 & 2!! I happily paid for them and thoroughly enjoyed both games.

This game, however, is terrible. It's nothing like its predecessors and is nothing other than just another "pay to win" cash grab attempt that nickels and dimes its users to death. It's a copy of Clash of Clans and is just another basic "build, attack, wait and repeat" freemium junk awash in a sea of app clones. There's no real strategy like Fieldrunners 1&2. This game is only how much money you can be suckered into paying to win.

It's truly a shame. I had so much more respect for Subatomic Studios and the Fieldrunners creative team until this came along. Do yourselves a favor and create Fieldrunners 3 (a paid app which I would gladly pay for) before this terrible game irritates enough people that you lose your entire following. Redeem yourselves in the eyes of your fans and followers and let this game die. It's embarrassing.

Good but still needs a lot of work
First off the lag is so bad most of the time. Whether I'm playing on my iPhone 8 Plus or iPad Air 2, you start an attack and then the lag takes over and screws you up.

When attacking bases, barracks will automatically spawn troops before you even drop a troop.

When using certain troops like Ace, the troops won't spread out to attack defenses, they bunch up and push the troops in front into the defenses area of attack. Horrible physics there.

The hospitals need serious work. Multiple heroes will go to one barracks leaving one completely unoccupied. 2 heroes heavily devastated will go to one barracks, while one hero loses one troop and will go to one. I would like to see the hospitals completely taken out of the game.

I would also like to see once you reach a certain level with walls, you can use gold and wood to upgrade them. I get stuck with so much gold and nothing to spend it on very quickly.

Was great. Now many bugs. No longer supported.
I would no longer recommend a download. When this game first came out it was amazing. While it took themes from other games that wasn’t engaging take on tower defense. Spent a lot of $ and eventually got frustrated with the lack of progress without spending $. I deleted the app. Just reinstalled about two weeks ago. My setup was preserved but now there are several big bugs that make the game almost unplayable (i.e. cant upgrade heroes). The developers website is no longer active, broken links in game, and they are not responding to support requests.

Game needs update!
EDIT: The bugs are too bad to tolerate, and still no update in sight. Changing title and revising score down from 4 (pretty good) to 2 (barely usable). That is after spending some cash on 5he game...

Your typical build your base game, with funny animation and characters. With *some* wisely spent real money, you *can* make progress into the higher ranks - and hey, you gotta pay for a service here. Hint... buy builders, not consumables! Good potential for different battle strategies but sometimes the many bugs and less than optimal AI of the troops frustrate.

All-in-all recommended (even addictive) but in need of an update!

Crashes all the time - no support
Their first game was their best - never crashed. This one crashes all the time (5 times so far) trying to play it today.
I would have given it 3 stars instead of 1 but you spend $5 for 500 gems so you can open a crate, the game crashes, you lose your $5 and you lose the gems and you don't get crate contents. I would have given it 2 stars but I have to give it 1 star because when you go to support the game shoots you out to a web page that never loads and if you search for the game title and the word support - nothing. Sad, their first game was great, they should make new levels of that.

It’s a great game but only for patient players!!!!! I think that this game is fun but needs to have a better way than gems to speed up buildings and construction.... maybe ads. Also can it be like you don’t have to wait for one construction to finish to do another? And could you make more defense? Thanks, and please think about it... overall this is a great game

Want to play a game that makes you wait a stupid amount of time to build anything? This is your game! Want to play a game where you have to spend money, a LOT of money, to make any real progress? This is your game!

Developers have quit making fun games in order to sell their cheap souls for the almighty dollar. This game is no exception. It’s another run of the mill time waster. No different than any other clash of clans style game. It’s a waste of time and the unbelievably overpriced in app purchases make it a zero. You can play this same style game ANYWHERE else for better prices and a whole lot less wasted time.
