MUST GET FOR TURRET DEFENSE LOVERS!!
YOU DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY OR WIN!! Now one of the last few levels you may have to watch advertisements and get 100 free coins for each video and you get 2 videos every so often. I can’t remember how many minutes it takes but if you be sure and watch the videos even on levels you don’t need coins than you can stack plenty of loot for later. This game has it all from lots of really cool turrets, upgrades, enemies, lengthy levels, turrets that don’t do well together and others that were a match made in heaven! Let’s not forget the SUPER fast response from the app creator himself. I NEVER write reviews but I was really impressed by the guy who made this and his quick response when I had an issue, like same day AND on a weekend. Thanks man and keep up the good work!!!

Easy?
Much to like about this game, but why, with four modes from Easy to Nightmare, is “Easy” mode not completely easy for every Mission? How are the other modes going to be fun, if I can’t even beat Mission 10 on Easy mode? Get good, right? But what the heck is Easy mode for anyway then? So my suspicion is that in-game money for upgrades must be purchased with irl-money to make a noticeable difference. I had to build up a lot of in-game money (via the free if you watch an ad system (that stops working after you’ve done it a few times)) just to beat Mission 7. Either that or the programmers messed up on a few “Easy” Missions.

Was....One of the best
Still no endless mode for some reason? I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of the Defense Zone series. I even found that with practice I could eventually pass nearly all maps on hard. That was until DZ3s latest maps (16 and up) came out. Mission 16 is impossible even on easy mode. This maps version of “easy” is what most others would call nightmare or super hard mode. Unless passing map 16 requires IAPs, it cannot be completed on even easy mode. The balance is so out of whack you’d have to be able to use the special weapons several times each and not have any cool downs. Anybody tells you different is lying and could only pass 16 if they sunk many more dollars into the app for special weapons stock. Not cool. This long time fan and DZ vet (Play nearly all paid TD games on mobile and computers for a decade+) knows a broken economics & difficulty balance when he sees one. No longer recommended. Too bad....was almost great.

My 2nd review about TD 3 HD
Unfortunately, this game has been designed to induce you to pay real money to gain credits and buy weapons and life to survive each level. Even on Easy Level, the game is very hard. If you refuse to pay money you are locked into watching advertisements that give you 100 credits 2-4 times a day. Then you have to wait until the next day to get more free credits. Eventually, you save up enough credits to buy more health and hopefully survive the level or complete the entire scenario. Yes, the graphics, sound and gameplay are high caliber and enjoyable to experience. It just takes too long to save up enough credits to move on. A very disappointing experience. Play TD 2 instead. It’s not quite as polished, but at least you can progress at your own pace and enjoy the game.

The ultimate pay to win. Don’t even bother
Even the “normal” difficulty makes it practically impossible to beat even stage 3 unless you watch ads to get free coins. And the coins don’t stick around even if you didn’t spend it when you restart the round. No instructions anywhere except for a random tip that shows up for two seconds before entering a level, so literally everything must be learned yourself, which wouldn’t be a problem if the entire game wasn’t built with such blatant money grab schemes. You don’t get enough money at first to try the high priced towers, nor do you know the mechanics of each special weapon, and you have to waste time and potentially money to find out each thing just so you can restart the round all over to fully utilize each item. Every little thing in this game is designed to discourage you from winning in a normal way so you end up paying.

Challenging and addictive
I’ve played plenty of tower defense games and I have not found a “new to me” one in quite awhile that has held me as this one has.
I am still learning and regularly losing, free ads to watch if you want to get coins for things like an airstrike or napalm (enjoy figuring that baby out). I’m stuck on the level I’m stuck at, and playing back levels to beat my times and score. I think that says a lot about the game.
I won’t be deleting this probably until they stop servicing it bc I suspect it’s going to take some time to beat the last level on nightmare.
I wholly recommended this tower defense game. Don’t be afraid to restart your Round even when it’s wave 12 of 30 when you smell your tactic is wrong; immediately test your theory. 👍🏼 (the more you know)

Way Too Hard (at least for me)
The first few maps aren’t too bad, but then it just gets way too challenging that it’s not even fun anymore, I like strategy games with challenge, but this one is on a whole different level, I’ve only played in easy and normal modes so far, I can’t even imagine playing on hard or nightmare, you definitely have to spend to get help from the extra weapons, at that point it’s not even a strategy game anymore, just an all out barrage of weapon deployment throughout the map. After days of trying to beat missions 16-18 and failing, and failing, I finally decided to spend money on extra weapons to beat those missions, it just starts to get repetitive and boring. Here take my $4, I’m done.

Un-winnable
First the AI of the turrets is the best I’ve seen. There is very little wasted munitions. The UI is well done, but…
The developers made this game Un-winnable! I played this on easy, still Un-winnable! I got to mission 14 out of 26. The only way I got there was to buy coins to get more lives. I spent 9.00 plus watched ads for countless games. I think the developer should be ashamed releasing such a potentially great game making totally Un-winnable. I’ve been playing tower defense games for a long time and never played one where you had to pay real money to have any chance to win.

Menus get in the way
Great game. Good graphics. But the menus get in the way. Even if you hide them it’s still a pain when you try to see the battle ground or even a turret that your trying to upgrade the menus are in the way. Make extra space around the battle ground so you can pan around with then menus still active. Placement of some turrets near the bottom is impossible when zoomed out.

Pay to win, it’s a shame for a formerly Fantastic game series
I loved the perversions versions of Defense Zone, they were tough and it took a long time to beat levels and longer to beat them perfect on the highest difficulty but I was able to do it after much trial and error.
Unfortunately this version is different. It’s clear they’ve arranged the higher levels to make them impossible to beat perfectly without spending those dumb coins, which I refuse to ever do. This is on “normal” difficulty.
In my eyes this makes the game unplayable.
