Simply slide your finger across the play pad to record and tweak catchy drumbeats, memorable melodies and fat bass lines. Just bring your inspiration and Figure will help you take care of the rest.

Ho ho ho! This version fixes a bug that sometimes caused Figure to rebuild your song library when it didn't need to. We've also added three new drum kits and a lead sound. One of the drum kits is holiday-themed! The other two are not!

We're looking forward to hearing your renditions of Jingle Bells, sleigh bell style.

We discovered Figure would sometimes crash when tapping to open the Allihoopa app on iOS9. That bug has been eliminated, and order has been restored in Allihoopa land.

- This version improves the error handling so we can solve crashes and bugs more easily in the future. Not that the app will crash or has any bugs. This is just in case.
- The drop success view has been made a lot more fun! You'll see what we mean when you drop your next beat.
- We've also fixed a bug that caused some Pick Ups with incorrectly sized cover art to be undroppable. It was a weird one, but we managed to solve it thanks to great help from some of you, so thank you!

- Tap New Song and Browse Allihoopa to find inspiration and starting points for your next Figure song. Remixing your Figure buddies is now easier than ever.
- You now see which user you're logged in as when dropping a song, and can switch accounts by tapping on your face. Don't tap too hard, it might hurt.
- We've made some improvements to the Drop flow, so you now get a proper update on the upload progress, and can cancel the Drop if you change your mind.

We’ve been getting hyped on the retro trend of this winter's reissues of old video game consoles, that plumber guy now being on iOS, and whatnot. So we made some sounds so you can sound like those classic games too. Try combining the new Syntax Error kit with the Bassboy bass and Eight Bit Vibra lead and you’ll see what we mean. Soon you’ll be jumping head first into question marks and eating mushrooms.

Looking forward to hearing what you'll make with the new sounds on Allihoopa!

New in this release:
- New drum kit: Syntax Error
- New bass sounds: Bassboy, Future House and Thicke
- New lead sounds: Eight Bit Vibra, Hedgehog, Saw III and Triple Waves
- Fixes an annoying issue where you couldn’t 2D touch the left side of the screen if 3D touch was turned on, no matter how hard you tried.
- Rich notifications. Did someone build on your song? Listen to it directly from your home screen. Building on theirs is just another tap.

Cheers!

Figure 2.2.2:
- fixed an issue where songs could not be uploaded on older devices
- fixed an issue where Audiobus play triggers would not display the correct state

From Figure 2.2:

You won’t believe how much cool new stuff we’ve put in this version. Ableton Link! New kits! Remote triggers! And more! Keep reading to get the full scoop.

- Sync Figure with other apps through Ableton Link. Play Figure with friends, or sync with other music apps on the same device.

- Two new drum kits, Bern and Leeloo. Bern is a city in Switzerland. Leeloo is a Mondoshawan weapon against evil. We hope they’ll inspire lots of new songs!

- Although we don’t condone ever putting Figure in the background on your device (it’s so much harder making music that way!) Figure now consumes less battery power when you do.

- But we didn’t stop there! We’ve also introduced support for remote triggers through Audiobus too. Yay!

- Lately we’ve been getting a lot of requests from Pono users and dogs to improve audio rendering to 48khz on iPhone 6S, so we did. Shoutout to all our canine fans out there!

- ...and scores of minor fixes and improvements crafted during the Allihoopa summer of love.

We've fixed some bugs and made some improvements. You probably won't notice the changes we've made, but we're pretty sure they'll make your life just a little bit better. At least one Figure reviewer will be happy to know that tap tempo now should work on all devices :-)

New in Figure 2.1.2:
- Profile tab! Tap Allihoopa to find your profile. Make it even prettier by adding a photo of yourself, a description of who you are, and a tag line.
- Double tap on a patch name to bring up the new patch browser. You can also hide a patch you don't like by pressing the eye icon.
- David on the Figure team suggests hiding the Kamelen lead sound, because "it's useless". I (Leo) kind of like it. Well, I made it. Don't hide it please.
- Improved Facebook sign-up and login stability
- Some of our dialog boxes were quite confusing. They now are less so. We hope.
- The in app settings have been moved to the iOS system Settings.

By the way: we've been getting some questions about who Allihoopa is. It's us! We were previously called the Propellerhead mobile team. We're now the Allihoopa mobile team. Same people, same owners, more colorful logo.

dysamoria,
Fun music toy/tool
I admit I misjudged Figure. I gave it a second try a while back and it finally clicked for me. Maybe it was the inclusion of the "intro" in the current version, which wasn't present in earlier versions (and needs a switch to enable after it’s been dismissed!). Because Figure is simplistic, it was easy to misunderstand.

This isn't a professional musician's tool. You cannot edit the patches, and exporting stems for a DAW is probably clumsy (no automatic multitrack export, but I bet soloing a track and repeatedly exporting works ok). Still, there's no reason why Figure can't be used as a starter for a professional project or as inspiration. It certainly is fun to play with, and you can double the available tracks (or jam with a friend) by synchronizing two iOS devices (if you have access to another device).

I must apologize to Propellerhead for my earlier bad reviews. I get it now.
Waffleganger,
I love Figure.
I’ve been using Figure since it first released, and I still using it on a daily basis. Why use journals when you can say how you feel through easy to make melodies? I’ll still go back to old songs and either fine tune them or remix them entirely. I have no musical experience, mind you. I know nothing of song keys or structure. Choose a key, you’ve got eight bars, make something nice in a matter of a few minutes once you have it down. Devs, I would absolutely love to see the ability to two things: 1) Volume automation. Similar to how I can record the tweaks of different pieces of the song, I would like to be able to crescendo certain parts of the songs. 2) This one is a stretch, but I want the ability to send my song files to other friends with the app. Back when Propellerhead had the ability to share songs online, I’d share, have a friend download, then they remix it, then I download, then remix it... very lengthy process. Let me share my songs easily!
#iwonttellyoumyname,
I used to feel empty…
I have spent countless nights laying awake, craving some form of purpose. My thoughts and consciousness consume me from the inside out, leaving me an empty corpse of meaningless prayer.
All those nights I questioned what only the brave would dare to do, and found no answer just like those before me. This pondering lulled me into a deep haze where everything felt like nothing.
I scoured internet, hoping for someone who could save me. But the truth was it was only myself who could save me from my own thoughts. Or was it…
I recently downloaded this spectacular app called Figure. On those lonely nights I open Figure and let my mind carry itself away from depression, into the comfortable realm of sound. The looped beats drown my itchy wonders of meaning, and engulf my dehydrated body with beats as replenishing as water.
No other app has supported me this way other than Figure. It’s simple interface and deliciously addicting instrumentals are the backbone of my current mindset. Without Figure my recently discovered positiveness is squandered completely, dragging me shamefully back to square one, a shape with only sorrow that fills myself.
I thank you for everything you’ve helped me through, Figure, and I hope to see fresh, complex, and exciting updates in the future. I love you more that I myself can even comprehend
PC Sketcher,
So glad it’s back
Still the best. Hey can you please release that update you mentioned last year involving integration with Reason? I bought Reason at that time with the hope that soon I would be able to move the hundreds of figure files I have onto a more robust platform so I could edit them more thoroughly.

By far the funnest and easiest musical app; my favorite out of many great ones.

A couple things would be good to see. The first is to fix background audio. It stops playing when I switch to another app, which makes it tough to play along using ableton link.

It would also be very cool to see an expanded workflow including the ability to automate every editable parameter, including key changes, the slice wheels, and everything in the mixer. You could also allow for volume adjustment for the separate drum sounds, maybe even mix and match between different drum sets.

A nice feature would be the ability to export .fig files for back up purposes. I have hundreds of loops that I can't remove from the phone and save as an editable file; if I could just export .fig, I could keep things tidy. Maybe alphabetical folders would be nice in the songs panel, so one could organize large numbers of songs more easily.

Such an excellent app, back in its original hands.
Dan with the Plan,
Great app with even greater potential
I have used this beat making app for years now, before and after Alihoopa came along. Figure has never disappointed me when it comes to sheer ease of composition. Ideas are easy to generate and if you know your scales and modes, you can have a lot of fun here.

This DAW only allows for one kind of meter, so nothing beyond duple. No 3/4 or 6/8 which is a glaring omission. Other apps share this dissapointing limitation, but Propellerhead can do better.

I love their onscreen controls. The ribbon-style synth control is great, with the root notes darker on the control surface. The drum sequencer is remarkable.

My only want is for MIDI control as well. I could spend all my time using this app if only I could play their excellent sounds using my 88-key controller. I can do this with other apps like Groovebox and Gadget , which is why I am prone to using those more often than Figure. Of course, Figure is great on the train 🚃 where it may be difficult to use a midi controller. I just think it could be great for both home and mobile use.

Thanks for reading!
Uselessdetails,
Plummeting
I used to love this app. Absolutely loved it. Wrote a lot on it. Thought it was genius, had just the right features, looked good, performed superbly. That was before Allihoopa. It's no longer Propellerheads. It's Allihoopa. Allihoopa has zero support and they *really*, *really* don't want you do to *anything* with your projects except upload them to Allihoopa. You can't get your files out to back up anymore, or to move from one device to another. There's no manual. And... no support, so no one to ask or talk to about it. It no longer operates in real time. You touch a pad and the response can be anywhere from instantaneous to a number of beat fractions later. The delays are obvious and annoying, not the sort of thing that requires a trained ear to notice, but noticable by total novices. This is no longer a tool for creating or producing music. Now it's just a front end for Allihoopa. It's still kinda fun, but also, sadly, very disappointing.
Oct 2012,
Relieved!!!!
Glad it’s back in the right hands! Would love to see the new integration with Reason! I hope there is a way to transfer Thor patches into figure. I think that’s the engine Figure is based off of. That would be a game changer for me. Also a batch export function to get figure’s individual instrument wavs/aiffs and.... midi data (omg plz) quickly into Reason. Or hopefully you’re adding live midi out from figure into reason to control reason rack synths with figures wonderful sequencer.
On a side note, it would be nice if the Reason compact app (not this app) could match the same scales and swing as figure songs. This is my one main gripe with RC.... that and the auto save. Dear heavenly synth father, please get rid of auto save in reason compact. Love you guys
uofaw6!u3,
Such a good app for sketching ideas
I have used Figure for years and watched it get sold off and now get bought back by its original creators again! It makes me happy that Propellerheads is back at the helm.
This is a fun and deceptively powerful app that keeps your head focused on the task of making 3 track beats. Each track has LOTS of recordable parameters that add effects and change the sound. However, all of that complex parameter recording is managed by a simple interface that makes it very easy to use. Now that propellerheads is back I want to humbly request that they consider adding the ability to record the global and mix pages so that I can sequence chord changes and volume levels.
72!iiebsn,
I love this app, but PLEASE fix this issue.
I’ve used Figure for SEVERAL years now, since 2015. I’ve used it since I was a very young kid, and now I’m in my mid teens.

I remember when Allihoopa was around, and its community. I was very active and I miss it.

I know you guys haven’t updated the app in over a year, but if anyone sees this, do you think you could fix the feature to export songs?
It no longer works, and anytime I try to export a song to any app, even Files, nothing happens. Nothing at all. In fact, when I try to export a song to files it just flat out won’t let me.

It’ll give me a white screen and then go back to the page with the songs.
The only way I can export my songs as of now is to screen record them and painstakingly change the format to an MP3 using a website; which sometimes causes compression issues and quality loss.

This is very likely a shot in the dark, but if anyone at all sees this, please fix it. I’m not the only one with this issue and there’s still a community.
ragnorok2342,
Good and fun easy to use
I actually can come up with some pretty interesting stuff on here but let’s be honest it would be cool to transfer these ideas to an actual daw. I wish you could export midi data so you could at least import it to a daw session and at least be able to get the exact rhythms and notes and then try to recreate the synth paremeters on your own. That would honestly make this an must have creative tool. It’s very easy to play based more on feeling then thinking too much about the technical aspects of what you’re doing which is really nice.

Please devs if you’re reading this implement midi export! That would be amazing!
