Crooks2002,
Thank you for updating to 64bit iOS 11 compatibility!!
Thank you Square Enix for the timely update. I have raised my rating from 1-4 stars!! Quick save was awesome, if that can be fixed too, all the way up to 5 stars~ I was really worried that you'd have a more "business minded" approach to fixing this game if at all. Kudos for you for making the customer/gamer first. :)
My previous review is below:

This game is great and I love coming back to it time and time again... but if it is not updated to 64bit, in the next iOS update whether it's iOS 10.3.2 or 11 we will not be able to continue playing. Please don't release a whole new version and make us pay for it again too. This game was expensive as it is. Release an update, fix some bugs and my rating will go back up to 5 stars. Square-Enix, you're now able to respond. It would be great to hear if you'll be continuing to support this amazing game. Please don't leave your die hard fans in the dust.
Liz959522,
This was my favorite on PS1
I waited and waited for it to come down in price because it was my favorite ps game and I lost the disc. I agree with people who complain that it’s not optimized for the iPhone. I don’t have an iPad and it is a bit small for me to read on my phone. That seems like an easy fix via settings. But you cannot change the font size. I’m also not a huge fan of the touch controls as they are so small I often hit the wrong thing and that can be frustrating. But my biggest issue is that the enemies’ battle speed is way too fast for me to follow. There is no way to slow it down. I would upgrade my rating if we could adjust that in the settings because I like to see what’s happening on the battlefield. If you liked the original, you’ll like this port, and these little annoyances will probably not bother you. However, I can’t give this beloved game more than 3 stars due to the difficulty in playing due to the things I mentioned. On sale, it’s ok—I wouldn’t pay $14 for it.
Conjob2084,
Fantastic Port!
Hands down, one of my favorite FF games and it still holds up. Touch screen control very good, although I’ll grant that sometimes it’s not perfectly precise but I don’t think that’s to do with the game but more the nature of touchscreen control in general. I would definitely advise anyone with thick fingers to use a stylus. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a five star review is a glitch with the Belias Tor map. Every now and again, you’ll be faced with fighting a large pack of chocobos and without fail the instant I input an action after moving a unit, the game crashes. Also the auto save system is a little weird. It’s been a saving grace when a fight goes pear shaped but I’m not a fan of being given the option to start a paused game when returning to a saved game because the paused game is always in a state before the hard save and that’s messed me up a few times before I understood what was up.
Guiseppi Paulino,
Sets the Bar for Tactical games
I loved this for the PS1 and the remake was amazing but one thing that is lacking is the support for online playability like the remake had. Also idk what your online team has in the works but the same way that you have weekly updates and new adventures in WOTV FFBE maybe add that to FFT WOTL. I know I can’t be the only one who wants more Ramza and adventures in Ivalice. I mean I best Vagrant Story twice and FF12 three times. Along with the GBA games too. I’d love to see Ivalice expanded upon and maybe even the 50 year War in the WOTL universe. Or the fall from the golden age to FFT all the way to Vagrant Story. I know that’s a lot to ask but this would be amazing. I’ll even help write it lol!
AMillah,
(UPDATED) SQUARE, UPDATE(D) PRONTO
I’m updating my review back to 5 stars. I’m very happy Square released an update day 1 with the iOS 11 launch. To help preserve this all-time classic on mobile for a new generation. This game is a treasure, and I’m truly happy to have it remain on my iPhone and iPad for the foreseeable future.

If you buy this game, just be warned that in its current state, it will cease to run on the next release of iOS, iOS 11 due roughly in September 2017. So that only gives this amazing classic 3 months of life left.

Given the prices Square charges for their games on iOS, I thought this was a fair warning to give to users. This is also a call for Square to get their act together and show these amazing games some love. Apples tools makes it pretty darn simple to modernize a game to run 64-bit, and Square frankly has no excuse to not update games they charge $20 or more for. At least in my view as an outside observer.

I really hate to lose access to this amazing game on my iPhone, but this change has been a long time coming and warranted. If a developer cannot make a simple compatibility update in over 3 years, then what business do they have accepting money from customers anymore?
Burnelli,
Great game but poor control
I get that the developer did everything they could to make this touch screen friendly but that it’s the only option makes no sense. Most other Final Fantasy iOS games offer controller support but this one does not. While I appreciate they wanted to make it touch friendly the controls are still clunky and difficult to use on smaller screen devices like smartphones vs the larger tablet screens. I found myself frustrated trying to select the appropriate square or action at all times. Meanwhile half the screen is left blank which could have supported an onscreen controller layout for those who preferred it.

If the developer we’re to add controller support to this title it would immediately change my review to 5 stars. Until then I can only give it a bonus star for being a great game that just happens to be too frustrating to play.
Hungry4therich,
Update idea
The cutscenes looks blurry on the iPhone XR - I’m sure they’re also blurry on newer models as well.

If a dev took the original PSP copy of the cutscenes and were to edit them, one by one for each screen size for every iPhone/iPad size (tedious work, but here me out) you could add a slight 0.9% blur with photoshop, then add, maybe 2-10% noise - the videos would turn out nice and really freshen things up.

Then remove all cutscenes from the original download, and have all versions of the new cutscenes in the cloud - when, let’s say, an iPhone 12 user downloads the game, they get an in game download for the iPhone 12 version of the cutscenes. Just an idea. 🤍

No longer Mobile Friendly!
The update to 64-bit was great. However, the auto-save feature in the middle of battles has been removed in the update, and I have not advanced in the story a single battle since. Zero video game progression on a $15 iPhone game! The game is already challenging enough (which is great!) but I simply don't have 15-20 minutes to exclusively focus on my phone every time I wanna open this app to play. I used to progress through the story in small chunks with the previous auto-save feature storing all of my progress mid-battle. Now, I haven't seen a cutscene in ages as I simply don't have the time to fully commit to the game’s lengthy combat. I love Square-Enix, Final Fantasy, and the Ivalice world. But it’s 2017! A feature like mid-battle auto-save should never have been ‘outdated’. Make this mobile friendly again, or please give me a refund.
hdjshcci,
The negative reviews are the honest ones
Terrible port of an incredible game. Expensive and yet not optimized for iPhone at all. This game *will* hurt your hands. There’s no controller support and the touch screen controls just aren’t what they need to be. If you’re familiar with FFT you already know there’s a lot of grinding, which was arguably really fun in the original version but on IOS you’ll be re-selecting over and over again in order to move to the desired space or attacking the right enemy. The camera is quite bad and the poor controls exacerbate that issue as well. Potentially more playable on IPad but if you’re planning on using a phone for this I would urge you to find a PSP or use an emulator instead. Don’t give this piece of garbage your money. Screen mirroring might help too but where’s the controller support? Crazy that in 2020 they charge 15 bucks and you can’t even use a controller
Treva Kiros,
Needs An Update
There’s no controller support, so your hands will hurt after playing for a while. Trying to adjust the camera, zoom in, and select the correct panel to move to is a challenge in itself for this version. In some battles, one mishap like that could mean the end. Also, while the improved graphics are a plus, the characters move really fast, as if they’ve had haste casted on them- in their natural state. Another issue is the auto save feature. They did away with it, and that makes saving a priority over anything else after a battle or cutscene, considering you could lose hours of progress because your phone died. Lastly, I definitely wouldn’t recommend you play this on iOS.
