If you like Gin, this is the app for you!

This is the best Gin app I could find and I tried a lot of them. The features that make this one outshine the competition are great graphics, a level up program with rewards that keeps you working toward goals, the ability to play against real people, and the chip system which provides actual consequence to the games.

The best part is the last item on the list - the chip system. How it works is you start off with a certain number of chips and you have to give some up to play. If you win, you get more chips then you started with. If you lose, the chips you paid to play are gone. If you lose all your chips, you have to buy more with real money to keep playing. Don’t worry, it’s cheap. But that real money element helps the games actually mean something. Here’s the best part though - you get a stash of chips once a day for free just by logging in. So if you never want to spend real money on the game, all you have to do is log in once a day for a few days and you’ll be back in action. It’s a system that keeps you coming back for more as compared to other apps where you just stack up meaningless points.

This is truly a solid app all around. If you like Gin, download it without hesitation!

Fun

This is a very fun app. I have one issue, that is big enough to make me keep leaving the game and deleting the app. I’ve tested this 3 times now and it cannot be a coincidence. When you first start using the app you have the free coins and it seems as though you are mostly winning and/or having some good game battles even if you don’t win. Once you, at some point, run out of coins and you purchase some or let the coins build per day, the games suddenly and dramatically change. You lose a lot more and quickly. If I had not gotten suspicious of this the first time I uploaded this app I am now. I deleted the app and tried again months later by re-uploading it and started fresh again as a new player. Same thing. I deleted it and actually forgot all about the game for about a year. I recently remembered it and re-loaded again with the idea to test and confirm. It followed the same path. For me to have an enriching game experience I have to delete the app once it gets to this point and start fresh as a new player. This prevents me from leveling up very far, but gives me a better game playing experience. After this 3rd try, I’m convinced your game is set up this way to purposely try and get you addicted and then get you to try and spend money. I realize that most games want you to spend money but to make the odds become noticeably different makes me feel
As though nothing about the skill needed to play is worth a darn. Very disappointed.

Win rate extremely low

Smooth graphics and good UI, but always lose in games, win rate is extremely low. Cards that I received are always hard to match and the system just don’t give me a good time to draw the cards I need, waste too many chances and opponent win easily. That made me wonder why the opponents are always have “better” luck than me? Why the system always give good cards to opponents that they always can easily have the right match. Enter a game with 300 coins, and daily bonus is only 80. Do the math, and the game just try to get your Facebook connection and make you easily lose, when you don’t have enough coins, you’ll purchase. Low win-rate to make people purchase coins to keep playing. Good economic strategy, but at the end I’ll just lost any interest to play. End up just delete the game. Sympathy is, when a person downloads a game that keep making him/her lose, how can that person ever have hope? Only frustration left, and customers are not blind to realize the low win-rate is a way to make them spending money to buy coins and keep playing. Turn out, I feel sorry but I had to delete the game. I feel pity on it, since the graphics is so nice. I like the UI anyway. Nice try, but not much nice memory for me to keep.

Love the game but no way to ever get ahead

When I first started, I won often. At least held my own. The problem lies with the fact you Pay say 4000 chips for a game but can only win 2000 extra or 6,000 including your initial bet. So one game nets the "house" 2000 coins automatically. Yet the give tiny daily coins (no where near enough to play one game. Even if you win 75% of your games you will likely run out of chips. When you play different levels you will see the same "people". With names like Rose, Winnie, Betty which just don't sound real. Once in a while you know you're playing a real person but often it feels like a bot. Even though I'm playing the same person I just left (i.e.:Rose) on a 6,000 entry, on an 8000 entry shell beat me. I've only won one game in the highest entry. So won't play them any longer.

It's fun. I'll have to be satisfied playing practice modes or 300 coin levels from now on because I refuse to buy more coins. Which is sad. I wouldn't mind buying some occasionally but there is no incentives or specials. Just not enough interaction for the cost. Plus you can't type anything except send an emoji. I'm absolutely not convinced I'm not playing a bot.

They shouldn't take so much from each game played for the house. They should offer special incentives for those who did purchase. They should do small tournaments at decent entry's instead of mega tournaments. I did love the game. But was short lived.

Easily frustrated

Great game don’t get me wrong, but when u get on the losing side of it, ur losing! Sure the deck is ‘shuffled’ every game, but the dealer really needs to shuffle more. I’ve played long enough,I can call it before ‘my real opponent’ is gonna go out. Sure it all evens out in the end but I don’t wanna lose 7 times in a row leaving me with 4 credits so I can’t play for 3 days. The return on a game is off. If I put in 200 and so does my opponent, I want 400 back. ‘The house’ don’t need that 250, it’s a computer game. Every Monday u get free credits, so what when u get 200 and it costs that much to play 1 game and that don’t matter once ur pounded in 2 hands by ‘miley’ or ‘gertrude’ or ‘Stan’. Don’t ever buy credits, ull be so mad about throwing your money away! I’m uninstalling after this review, too bad, the games fun, but I don’t want frustrated to overtake fun. ‘Hope ur stay at the hotel is memorable’

Btw, ud think after all the negative reviews and people saying the same thing, it would get changed. I’m sure I’ll get the sane answer of ‘we reassure the deck gets shuffled every hand... it all even out in the end... blah blah blah!’ CHANGE IT!

Awesome but 100% rigged game.

What Kristi wrote is absolutely true. You get great “luck” with free coins and as soon as you make a purchase, or when you gamble big, your “luck” changes dramatically. I’ve spent $90 playing this game and am at level 50. $90!!! That’s nearly double the price of an Xbox or PlayStation game I can play forever. And the daily free coins aren’t even enough to play one game. Also... The emojis you can use to express yourself remain the same, yet some of the players I suspect to be coin-robbing bots always use a horned-kitty emoji that the rest of us don’t have. Suspicious. And to top it off, multiple people have user names like GAMEISRIGGED or RIGGEDGAME meaning this isn’t an uncommon opinion. I love the game. It’s done so well and has hooked me in, but the price is too high for a game that I’m certain is cheating us out of paid coins. Sure. You shuffle. But it’s a game and it’s programmed to cheat. Period. Last comment. My 3 year old got into the game and spent $20 of coins “playing”. Literally lost all my coins in the 20 minutes he gets on my phone. I sent a message to the programmers because I’m sure they can see the games were played without any know-how and probably were never even finished. No refund. Just advice to lock my phone. I’ll be deleting this app when my last 200 coins is gone.

Fun Game but disappointed

I agree with others that the game is graphically very beautiful...awesome 20’s and 30’s feel to it. Initially the game was great fun. When starting out you are given a generous amount of chips as well as another descent amount by connecting to Facebook. Like other reviewers, it is painfully obvious if you are not willing to make frequent purchases, you will run down the chip amount rather quickly. Everyone here certainly understands this is a business and the developers clearly want to turn a profit. Unlike other game developers the daily amount hardly keeps a player in the game unless they stop playing and accumulate daily chips. I would request the game developers to consider an increase on daily bonuses, increase amount of flash sales on chips and possibly include another option out there to keep players playing and not feeling as though we have to give up our life savings in order to play. I play many other games that I buy boosts when there’s a great sale but also appreciate the generous daily prizes that allow us to continue to play and to keep us coming back. I literally will only continue to play this game when I can save up enough chips from daily chip awards....certainly not what I was hoping for.

Card shuffle is rigged

It’s clear that the algorithm used to deal the cards in this app is rigged to pick which player wins. Perhaps they think they can make you buy chips. Perhaps they are trying to find players that are gullible or can be manipulated. Perhaps they are trying to steal your credit card number/identity.
After reporting this problem several times, they dismissed my concerns and told me to “f___-off”. Either the GameDuel programmers don’t know how to write a truly random card shuffle algorithm or they are actually malicious or only willing to work with players that pay-to-play.
FYI, the only reason I’ve played this version of Gin Rummy-Oklahoma for as long as I have is to study how they are shuffling the cards to control the deal-of-cards to ensure a winner/loser in Oklahoma Gin. I have enough data to prove the deal is consistently biased in a game between two players (which removes the fun/intrigue of playing the real game on Oklahoma Gin). But now the fun for me is studying how they are doing the scam-deal-of-cards and trying to discover what they are really up to.
If you download this App, know up front that you are being manipulated by GameDuel to pay to play or that the card-deal is NOT random nor is it a fair-deal ... you are not winning/losing based on your skill/intellect to play the game.

A response to the developers response-

Going to be brief because trying to talk to any kind of company people is usually useless. The further you go, your really just pushing the ‘support person’ to look up more of the ‘company pre- written responses that you cannot usually discuss any more. The consumer now gets completely rung dry everywhere you turn.. so if you give them free advertising or boost their Facebook visits -they’ll throw you a little bone.
I must join Facebook for a tiny payout, even though a game later I’m now buying more chips. Oh yeah 2.99$ per game not to have an ad. Hold up the game every time or two you restart!
Take the phone service, WiFi, 2.99/PER GAME(no ads). in app purchases, & join social media(more complications) and you can enjoy a few games rummy on the phone. Seems the more you spend- the more they want-like they aren’t collecting a fortune - but they can’t adjust anything- you can’t pay just once in a while- no you must jump through hoops and join things you don’t really want-I doubt you’ll get to read this-

Fun and Frustrating

I agree with all of the other people with the bad reviews. I have never played Gin and had an opponent Knock after pulling two cards and this occurs multiple hands in a row making it impossible to win. I think a lot of the players are bots with stacked hands so you will lose and have to buy more chips to play. You don’t win enough chips when you do win to be fair. The free chips you get are not even enough to play a game. I think the owners of this app are trying to make a lot of money fast instead of trying to retain its players who enjoy the game and will pay for chips ongoing if this game was fair, but it is not. There is no customer loyalty. I have read the owners responses and I don’t believe any of them and if you play this game then it will be evident that they are not being honest about the stacked hands and the players not being bots in some of the games. I really loved this game but I will be downloading a different Gin app that does not cause me such frustration. It is no fun to lose in a way that feels you are being cheated. The owners need to take these comments seriously and make the necessary changes.
