Description

Welcome to the world of Augmented Reality (AR). Meet our virtual trainer and your avatar. With the help of AR, they can appear at your place whenever you need them. Whether you’re planning your workout or working out somewhere, they will come handy. Set the avatar to represent your gender, height and body fat percentage. After you log a workout, all the muscles you trained will appear on your avatar. And the more you train during the week, the less rested muscles you'll have. The app will show you which muscles are ready for training. Use the virtual trainer, our model, to check how to properly do fitness exercises and to see which muscles you’ll use while exercising.

Gymaholic is the ultimate fitness app. You can use it with or without AR, or with or without an Apple Watch. Either way, the above-mentioned avatar and trainer are there for you on iPhone. The app for Apple Watch gives you the freedom to track your workout without your iPhone, in a way that no other app does. And the iPhone app is the best tool to help keep you on track. Both can effortlessly walk you through your training. It doesn't matter if you work out in a gym or at home. It integrates with the Health app.

Track any kind of workouts and sets:
- Supersets, tri-sets, giant sets, drop sets, pyramid sets, fail sets
- Bodybuilding, weightlifting, HIIT, cardio, bodyweight training, TRX

We work extra hard to provide you with the best features. We’re proud to say that in the App Store 94% of Gymaholic users have given us 4- or 5-star ratings, from this 80% was 5*. Please find some reviews below:

- 5*: "After almost 10 years of iOS workout apps someone finally made THE workout app for bodybuilders."
- 5*: "Best Workout App by a Million!!"
- 5*: "Homerun! Gymaholic has the best combination of features, customization capability and Apple Watch support of any exercise App I've tested."
- 5*: "Must Have for Lifting."
- 5*: "The Apple Watch support is amazing and it's miles ahead of any of the other Apple Watch workout apps."
- 5*: "This is the single greatest workout companion app you can get."

The app is full of features—70+ features, 800+ exercises with 3D-animations, many workouts and 65+ statistics are waiting for you on iPhone, and 25+ features on the watch. You'll find everything in the unlimited Premium version. Download the app for free. Use the Premium version free for 7 days—then stay with us if you like what you experience. You can select to pay monthly or yearly, both start with the free trial. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. You'll find a feature list in the Settings menu, the price of monthly and yearly fee in your currency in the Shop. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Subscriptions can be managed by the user and auto-renewal can be turned off by going to the user's App Store Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication.

Updated Watch app:
When you start a workout on the watch, you’ll see an option. Select “Animated” to try out the new tracker (new Watch hardware is recommended). It’s restructured and redesigned. There will be one circle which indicates the rest time, and you’ll see all the infos you are used to see.
The functionality is the same, complete the set, then tap the screen and the app will log the set and start counting the rest time.

If you prefer using the previous tracker on the watch, go to the Settings/Apple Watch app settings menu on your iPhone and set it as default. You can leave the option as it is after updating, providing you with the possibility to decide which tracker to use directly before tracking.

On iPhone the ‘…’ provides you with quick exercise infos.
New assessment feature is added to the app, RPE values can be added to sets.

Thanks for all the help and feedback connected to the iOS update, please make sure to always have the very latest iOS and WatchOS and Gymaholic.

We made some changes and bug fixes with the app to provide you with the best possible version. After iOS updates it happens that unexpected issues appear. These can be bugs that we can fix or iOS bugs that we usually solve using some workarounds. Please feel free to report any issues you run into. We’ll be constantly working on the next release as long as any issues appear that we can fix.

On the watch you might still face two bugs:
1.) Global workout timer doesn't update: Please swipe right to another page and back or you press firmly on the tracker screen to see the menu and the timer will update.
2.) Black page appears after swiping: tap on the black screen and swipe back.

General solution is to avoid using more pages while tracking (remove 3D and music player pages in the settings). WatchOS 6.1 is expected to solve these issues.

Bug fixes:
- bug is fixed by image sharing in the History
- long album names appear properly
- we updated the rest time editing method on iPhone and watch
- disable sleep mode on iPhone is fixed
- we improved the crash protection on watch

Features back:
- possibility to skip rest time on iPhone is available again
- Light and dark theme can be set independently from iPhone settings

- New workout editor and tracker screen: you'll see more of your settings without having to tap submenus: notes, rest times, linked exercises (superset, tri-set, etc.) and some more changes.
- New rest time system
- Feature to replace an exercise in the workout (use the '...' button)
- Add notes to your workout
- You can add more lines of notes to each exercise

midwestsierra,
The Best
I very rarely leave feedback, but wanted to thank the developer with a 5-star review. I have downloaded dozens of weight-tracking apps. And I’ve even paid for multiple. None come close to the functionality that is built into this great app. A few of the things I love include Apple Watch integration, live tracking of heart rate, ability to easily customize weight and sets during workouts, the customizable pause settings between sets, the visual interface of the Apple Watch app, the visual interface of the avatars that actually represent your body weight, the tracking of past workouts on the phone, and the ability to copy/paste sets and weight information easily. And on top of all that, all data is synced to the cloud and across multiple devices. There are only a few things I would like to see added. It would be nice to be able to see history on the Apple Watch app. I would like more “recommended” workout routines that are customized to you and progressively change weights over time (like in the Workout App). And it would also be nice to have a “lifetime” subscription option (like in the Workout App). But I won’t take off a star for any of those because this is truly a best-in-class app. Thanks again to the talented developer!
Esplin Family,
Original Pro User
Well since the 6.0 update with iOS 11 and WatchOS 4 they decided to make “Premium” and displease all current Pro users. That is what dropped the app from its original 4.8 to now 4.3 stars. Here’s where things get good. The developers actually LISTENED! Version 6.1 was released. They gave Pro users back all their features, after all we are the reason for the success of the app. If there is any one thing I expect from an app and it’s developers is LOYALTY. 6.0 was a swing and a miss. They got back up to bat and hit a homer with 6.1. I know for those of you that were not Pro users and are considering the $32/year, let me tell you this is the best weight training app that has ever hit the App Store or that ever will in my opinion. I can’t believe it’s not an Apple “essential” or “editors pick.” With that said is it worth what they are asking? I’d say YES. Adding a few bucks a month on top of your gym membership with this app will change your gym experience completely. Apple Watch users: this is the most functional and well put together app for the Apple Watch that has been developed thus far. I don’t bring my phone to the gym and I love it. This app has everything you need to be successful and progress in your fitness goals.
Shobe1Kanobe,
Congrats to the developers of Gymaholic!
Congratulations to the Gymaholic app developers for creating this amazing tool to help me with my goals! If you’re considering to download this app as a trial, then I highly recommend it! Once you see how well Gymaholic is designed to be used as reference tool, a digital personal trainer and to document your physical progress....then signing up for a subscription is a simple decision. I downloaded 6 other workout apps first and was ready to purchase a year’s worth on another app for twice as much $...and have since deleted on those other apps after I tried Gymaholic. I use my Apple Watch with this app and it’s well...really cool. Each night, I create my own customizable workout for the next day and actually look forward to going to the gym to use it! (although there’s plenty of downloadable workouts to choose from as well). The workouts can be created to be used in several locations based on the equipment and it really makes it an enjoyable and useful tool for me. Devenyl Gabor....you guys did a GREAT job on this app and it shows how much effort was made to do it right. Congrats!

samson13708,
Worth it?
So I’m am the furthest person from being fit; although I do try to work out and I have downloaded several workout apps. I have downloaded this one in hopes that I would 1) not quit 2) get stronger as well as recovery, and 3) giving me work outs plans as well as feedback on my weight loss. Be warned though, I have only been able to use this once. The work out that I did kept track of all exercises in the gym so I liked that as well is that I didn’t have to carry my phone as it has a Apple Watch link so I just had to put all info in on my watch. Next, I got this app to get stronger for sure but also recovery. I was diagnosed with a femoral neck stress fracture and also to do my physical therapy with it too. It’s a plus that I can keep records for the doc on what I’ve done. Last, I like how the pro version offers several work out plans so I never had to guess on what I want to do in the gym. Last, I like with the weight measurements, it gives you a visual of what you look like and see how much you have lost. My recommendation is to get this app and if you can afford it, get the pro version.
realsole,
Absolutely the best gym app out there!
Over the last year, I’ve downloaded practically every major workout app on the App Store and put each through at least a weeklong trial run: Strong, Fitbod, SmartGym, Jefit and too many others to remember. All of them had something lacking. And when I wrote their developers, they almost always had some sort of arrogant reply, like they don’t have the time to work on my request (after agreeing it was a great request!), or they just didn’t think making their app more user-friendly was the right way to go. Then, I stumbled upon Gymaholic. And it’s just awesome. They’ve thought of everything. And although, at first, you might think their screens are too busy, try it for a week, and you’ll quickly see how intuitive it really is. I love how it works great on my Watch. I love that you can choose to use or ignore their bells and whistles, I love their animated views so you can capture the best form. Gymaholic has all the best features of all the above mentioned apps, and none of their bad features. Plus, it’s less than the cost of a frap at Starbucks a month. Way to go!!
jvalentine1,
Subscription App! The Search Begins...
I thought Gymaholic was going to be my final workout tracking app. All I really wanted was the ability to create folders because I create my own workouts and like to keep them in categories. My request was finally heard by Gymaholic but now after already paying $15 (which was already a little steep comparatively speaking), they want me to spend $32 per year just to get folders and a white background! Forget that! And maybe I would like some of the other features in the new premium version, if I do that’s great but if I don’t...I can never downgrade! It’s just not worth the chance, so goodbye Gymaholic and hello HeavySet (I kinda missed you anyway). Don’t be sad Gymaholic I’ll keep you on my phone in hopes that you’ll come up with a better pricing model (Gymaholic 2 for $30 and I own it).

Edit: I have to say thanks to the developer for hearing our concerns and addressing them so quickly! I’m changing my rating to 5 stars for the customer service alone, and I plan upgrading to the premium (just for a year) to show support to the developer. Thanks again!
turdferguson.md,
I rescind my last statement
I'm going to echo some of the previous reviews here. I have been a loyal user since the beginning and I have to credit this app with making workouts easy to track and have helped me get into shape. 16% BF to 11% and looking much better than I did before. When the 6.0 version came out I was a little bothered. After having supported the developer with the original app then being asked to pay for a subscription, I felt betrayed. Well, the new version addressed this. I understand money needs to be made as this is a business, but going back and giving the loyal base their premium features is a big move and I appreciate this update. I look forward to further developments and will be proud to support future endeavors by the app writer. For those who didn't get on board earlier, I would recommend supporting the developer. If you have an apple watch the ability to track your workout without having your phone in hand is awesome. It takes away the notebook and pencil and helps with linear progression on lifts. SUPPORT THIS DEVELOPER!!
95 Bulldogs-RG,
Best Workout App by a Million!!
App not only what I wanted, but it exceeded my expectations by a Million...
I never buy Apps, let alone review them - Bit I had to make an exception this time because I was blown away after trying other Apps and then using this one.
After downloading the Free Version, and using it on my first session - well I could not wait till later, so I bought the full-version right their and then ($5.99). Best money spent... and I absolutely Love It! So much I had to write a review, because even though I never write reviews, I'm one of those who always uses and guide myself with reviews. This is my way to pay back to those who write their honest reviews and that have helped me in the past! So here is my review for this Awesome App! Not only do I recommend it, but I will say that if you are looking for a Workout App., well you will 'Not' find a better one out there. My Opinion, and I'm sticking with it! LOL - So I would rate this App a Million if I could, but since I can't, then I'll rate it a Million anyway! LOL :0)
Brian 0311,
Best overall weight training app on the planet!
I have downloaded at least 10 lifting apps in the past 3 years, and Gymaholic is by far the easiest to use, easiest to adjust to whatever type of program you’re running (Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, functional, etc). The premium features are way worth the price (which if you compare to Fitbit, Strava, Wahoo, Gymkeeper, GreySkull, or Stronglifts 5x5 it’s cheaper!!!).
This app has a boatload of exercises pre-loaded, but if you want to add one that’s not on the list, it’s a piece of cake. You can even snap a picture of the exercise from the internet and add it to exercise description!!! I haven’t seen anything like it!
You can adjust rest times on the fly, be notified when rest time is over, it’s fantastic!
The augmented reality feature is wicked cool, because it will tell you when each muscle group is ready to rock again after self-adjusted or recommended rest days! I will never use another app!
Elepianka,
Worth it with a subscription
I switched from another big Apple Watch fitness player on the App Store after my annual subscription ended for that one. I did the 7 day trial for Gymaholic, and I immediately loved their watch interface. I can actually change the weight, # of reps, # of sets easily on the watch.
I’ve also had no issues syncing between the watch and the phone at the end of my workout. My last app would sometimes sync and sometimes wouldn’t sync until my next workout. I enjoy how Gymaholic does post workout analysis and gives a rough rating on your muscles’ status. So far it’s pretty accurate. Usually the first day it says I’m back to 100% on a muscle like my quads then it’s just so happens to be leg day.
Overall, this app is a much higher quality app then most I have tried. The graphics aren’t phenomenal, but sometimes you have to sacrifice the ascetic for the processing throughput especially on an Apple Watch with a little processor.
