1.11.9
2018-09-23
This update provides a bug fix related to app widget.

With the 1.11.6 version the app has some great overall visual and interface improvements, added support to make full use of the iPhone X screen size, and the H2OPal Apple Watch app now has better graphics. We've also fixed some bugs that were still left over from the latest major Apple Watch software update.

Here's what's new in greater detail:
• Fixed issue on Apple Watch where intake recorded on the Apple Watch didn't transfer to the main app. (Please note that it can take some time for the intake logs between your Apple Watch and the iPhone to sync. Opening up the H2OPal app on your iPhone after making a measurement on your Apple Watch can make sure the measurement gets synced faster.)
• New radial progress bar graphics on the H2OPal Apple Watch App. It's the same type of progress bar you're familiar from the H2OPal home screen and the H2OPal widget so that we can provide a more consistent experience throughout all the apps.
• Small improvements in the layout of the Home/Profile screens for a more consistent design throughout the app and support for the iPhone X screen.
• The design of the individual contributions towards your total intake on the Logs screen has been significantly improved.
• Improved design of the weekly graph on the Profile screen.
• New design for the initial Tracker Pairing process. (More sections of the app will be updated to this new aesthetic with future updates.)

Small bug fixes and performance improvements. (Fitbit sync that got broken for some users with the last update is now fixed)

With the 1.9 update comes a new profile screen!
Here are some of its amazing features:
• You can now set a baseline for your daily goal as a percentage of your total calculated water intake. For most people, 20% of your water intake comes from solid foods where logging water intake can be difficult so if you haven't been able to reach your daily goal lately you can try setting it at 80% or 60% or lower if needed. (The "Daily Goal Baseline" can be adjusted under Settings -> Other Settings -> Daily Goal Baseline)
• You can also adjust your daily goal each day in increments of 8 oz or 200 ml by tapping the "+/-" button in the top right corner in the profile screen.
• You can now more easily see the components of your daily goal (profile + activity + weather).
• The new profile screen also features a graph of your stats over the past seven days.
• Better profile photo options.
• You can still set a custom daily goal in the app settings and it works just as before.

bwanc,
Great app, but...
Love the app. It really inspires me to drink more water by tracking the amount I drink and setting goals. Here’s the but - The only problem is the inability to adjust active hours. This app is perfect for regular 9-5 people. For those of us that work night shift, the app’s benefits are almost useless, unless I want to drink my day’s requirements as soon as I wake up in the PM and before 10PM. The developer said they can’t fix this because it wouldn’t work with associated health apps. How about giving an option to not connect to health apps to open the opportunity to adjust active hours? Beyond this, I love it. Re-syncing the bottle is simply turning it upside down. A couple things I have learned, If you have been drinking while not synced, the log will catch up when you do sync back up with the app. Lastly, you do have to remember to set the bottle down for a second or two before refilling to account for your last drink. But, if you mess up, make a manual entry. After approximately 20 days of daily usage, my battery is at 89%. I would recommend this to most people. Maybe not night-shifters.
Waggy262,
Useful app
I’ve tried other water tracking app and this one seems to be working best for me. I like that it’s a basic app without a lot of “extras”.

The only thing I would change is having the ability to edit a past entry. The other day I forgot to log the last of my water. Realized I forgot the next morning but couldn’t update the day. It’s more of a mental thing for me that when I look at my statistics it shows this one day I didn’t complete my goal. Maybe they will fix this in a future update.
MrJeffreyGee,
Love It!
I use this app the most on my iPhone multiple times a day to ensure I hit my daily goal. I also love the bottle as well, but broke the glass part one day and replaced it with a stainless steel bottle. Love how you can use the tracker on the bottle of your choice. There’s no other automatic water tracker like this out there and I’ve bought other ones, but they aren’t accurate since they don’t use a scale to weigh the bottle like H20Pal does and just give you an estimate of what you drank based upon how long you’ve held the bottle up. I’m getting a second H20Pal cause it’s so awesome. I am concerned though since the company hasn’t updated any of their social media sites or this app for a while, so I hope they aren’t discontinuing it. ❤️💧👍👍📱⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
KiwiniD,
The Best I Have Found
I have tried several free hydration apps and this is, by far, the best.

First, there are no annoying ads.

While there is a complicated system that can be used to calculate a daily hydration need, I selected the option to just enter a total, 64oz. (8x8 oz)

Another app I used had me create different volume “glasses,” 8oz, 10oz, etc. I could then select a combination of glasses to enter the amount I drank. With this app, I just move a slider to the amount and I am done. There is a dashboard which shows, at any time of day, how many ounces I need to drink in order to be on pace to meet my goal. And, it is easy to see how many of my 64oz I have consumed so far.

Finally, it is possible to set reminders to appear throughout the day. Some of them tell me how many ounces I need to drink to be on track.

This app makes it as easy as possible to meet my daily goal. The only thing I have to do is actually drink the 8 glasses a day.

App 4/5, bottle 5/5, some issues
I’ve had 0 issues with it. Curstomer Support is great. Tracks my water intake perfectly. Pretty customizable. I think it’s a 5/5 bottle, 4/5 app.
Missing features:
1. Ability to post date water intake. Sometimes I forget to manual add water to the day before it “locks out” that day.
2. Latest that your day can “end” to reset is 2300hrs. That’s silly. Some people’s days/nights end later than that. Also, not myself, but some people work midnights and don’t have normal days. Why limit the app in this way?
Lightshaper,
Great App!
I love the clarity and simplicity of this app, and that there are no annoying ads.

Making the entires editable, so you can accurately log all your water consumption (dead batteries, lost, stolen, or forgotten devices all happen) would definitely improve this app, as many reviews have noted.

It has changed my water intake habits for the better, and made me healthier and therefore happier. I highly recommend this app!
RWD4,
Dead Simple and Very Helpful
Having recently gotten an Apple Watch and finding its tracking surprisingly motivating, I decided to try a water tracker app. There are some good apps for doing that, BUT you have to log (and remember to log) every intake.

Paired with the H2OPal bottle, this app does it automatically and accurately. And the manual logging of my coffee is dead simple on both the iPhone and the Watch. I’m enjoying using it, and it is helping me change my water intake habits.
LakerGur13,
Best Water Tracker!!!
I have downloaded many many MANY water trackers and this is by far the best one in my personal opinion. My favorite thing is that your water goal adjusts daily depending on your activity and weather. I also like how it tells you how much water your should drink in that moment to be on track. Great great app. For some reason it doesn't work on my Apple Watch but it's still a great app!
Nicciberkman,
I want to love this bottle!
I really want to love this bottle especially for the price. However, I can't say I do. It doesn't consistently track the water I drink so when I go to refill I will have to manually add the remainder of the 20 oz that was in the bottle. What a bummer. Especially for the price. I also wish there was a way to sync with my fitness pal. It will sync with the health app but will not rollover to my fitness pal. Hopefully the developers can fix the frequency at which the app updates the totals that has been drank and the syncing ability.
dancouns,
Great app, but
The app is wonderful, however the bottle not so much. It worked wonderfully, until the battery died and I had to replace. The bottle doesn’t work the same since I replaced it. In fact, I had to contact customer service to replace the part where the battery is located (the tracker). This process took over two months to replace. And, it still doesn’t work like the initial part. I manually enter my water intake, rather than relying on the tracker. Not the point of this bottle.
