Description

Thirstic is the first fitness water tracker that automatically adapts your water needs to your daily activity and the weather conditions!

Thirstic is the perfect fitness and health companion. Doing your regular workout on Tuesday evening? Thirstic will learn the patterns and update your suggested water intake automatically. Heatwave on the horizon? Thirstic will automatically increases your suggested intake.

Drinking enough water is important for your health. Thirstic encourages you to drink and log your water intake during your day. The water tracker has a simple and straightforward user interface, with no ads and strong focus on privacy: it reads and writes from your Health app (via HealthKit) and keeps all your data securely on your device.

This is the water tracker app that automatically updates your estimated water needs in the background and sends you reminders as soon as you reach your preferred water needs threshold. For example, Thirstic will send you a notification if it's time to drink another 300ml (10 fl oz).

In addition to your activity, your daily water intake goal changes depending on your local weather conditions (in-app purchase required). In the app settings, you can customize the parameters of your water needs estimation to your preferences, resulting in higher or lower daily intake goals.

Thirstic works best with Apple Watch or any other fitness tracker that writes active and resting energy into your Health app. If you are not using a fitness tracker, the app will use the step counter from your iPhone to estimate your daily activity instead.

Privacy and data security is a key concept of Thirstic. The advanced calculations in this app are powered by the computing power of your iPhone. Your water intake is stored securely in your Health app via HealthKit. Thirstic does *not* send your activity or health data to remote servers.

Drinking enough water is essential to our health. 2/3 of our body consists of water, yet many unknowingly suffer from chronic dehydration. Thirst is signal which our body warns us that our body has lost water balance.

Water is very important for our body. It transports nutrients and oxygen into cells, regulates body temperature, helps with metabolism. Drinking enough water can help us lose weight, look younger with healthier skin, support our immune system, help in digestion and constipation, relieve fatigue, having a good mood, reducing the risk of cancer and much more.

While it is not to say that the more water your drink, the healthier you will be. Too much water will also hurt your health! Drinking a healthy amount of water at the right time is best.

katm027,
Great app!
This app is such a gem. I was using WaterMinder but was frustrated that the reminders could only be set to go off at set times of the day and not when you actually need to drink water. This app takes into account how much activity you’ve done and the weather at your current location. It adjusts the drink reminders AND your needed water intake accordingly. It’s brilliant! I use it with my Apple Watch and it’s beautifully integrated. The user interfaces, on both the watch and the phone, are minimal and effective. This is the best water app I’ve come across.
woltab,
A Promising Start
I’m giving Thirstic a try and it seems there are a few things that it doesn’t use for calculating my water needs. It seems like it should be pulling my age, weight and height from Apple Health, as well as any workouts. Perhaps even period tracking information as hydration needs can change over the course of one’s cycle. Also, it doesn’t let me log drinks other than water. While coffee might not be as hydrating, there is some hydration benefit to it, which should be counted. And it would be interesting to see how soda or a glass of wine increases the need for hydration. I’m not sure if these are things under consideration, but it would probably help me make the change from Hidrate, which is what I’m currently using, but have grown unsatisfied with over time. Thanks for considering!

Update: After using a little longer, I really like the simplicity of it. I like that there are no streaks to worry about. You either drank enough water or you didn’t. I still think the above updates would be helpful, and a response from the dev would be appreciated. Either way, I’ll likely buy a lifetime subscription as it is doing exactly what I need it to do.
Thomas_Ella,
Falling behind
Thirstic should be the beat water tracker hands down but it’s still just missing the key features to put it over the edge, like a Watch app or logging different types of drinks. I bought a lifetime subscription when it launched but admittedly the lack of meaningful updates have made me regret that purchase. I always end up switching back to Waterminder.
jmmt18,
One complaint
I actually really liked this app, but find I'm not using it, because unless I'm missing sunbathing really obvious, I find it annoying that every single time I want to add water I have to scroll through all the quantity options to find the one I want. I wish there was a way to set a favorite or have it default to whatever quantity you last drank etc as I usually am recording when I finish a bottle of water, I don't want to start at 2 Oz and scroll all the way through to find what I need every time.
eXoDuS!,
Needs work
It’s new, so I know there’s things to add and fix..but I didn’t understand the app much, maybe a guide to help understand the circles better. I think I got it but I’m not sure if I’m correct. Also, I work at night, and I couldn’t adjust the hours to my liking, only from 8am - 11pm, nothing after 12am and forward. Reminders confused me as it would say I needed, for example, 21oz and it would keep reminding me, and if I didn’t drink it the number kept going higher. Did it mean 21oz all at once, sips? A little more info would be incredibly helpful. Hopefully it gets better.
Converted to GTD,
One of the best apps I own
Hydration is under-appreciated for its impact on both general health and sports performance. This app lets me quickly track hydration and it’s smart features keep my hydration goal tuned to my activity and weather. Absolutely an essential app, especially for athletes. (There’s a reason Tom Brady watches his hydration like a hawk.)
Lakshmanreddy,
Awesome APP. Does the things what it does exactly.
Best water tracker app i came across. No Ads and a clean UI. Best part of the app is the developer. Responds to the feedback very well. When you want to track water intake get this one over the other apps which have ads and premium features are too expensive.
thecitystate,
Legit water tracking app
This has everything I’ve wanted in a water tracking app. I’m switching from waterminder to this. Looks very well made.
TechFamilySports,
Best Apple Watch app
Really simple and does exactly what we need
25311,
Great but missing some features
I wish it had a watch app and the ability to add custom drink types and sizes.
