To ensure Happy provides callers with the highest quality of support, those applying to be a Giver undergo a thorough evaluation process. It begins with an initial over-the-phone interview, an understanding of guidelines, assessment and a mock call. Approved Givers then must pass a background check and take a test confirming comprehension of Happy’s guidelines before they can begin taking calls. Support Givers are rated at the end of each call to continually hone our intelligent caller-giver matching system and quality of the Happy experience.

We want to provide affordable access to the emotional support you deserve. Rates are only $12 per half hour, prorated per minute, so you only pay for the time you need. Plus your first call is free!

The givers have all been so helpful. All of them are kind as well as a friend when U need one the most!! I was in bad shape and thinking dark. I thot of national hotline number. But when I wasn’t able to provide an address of my location, due to it being very late at nite, in addition to cameunfamiliar roads, I was sadly disconnected. I merely thought of happy and I called them. My favorite part is I get to choose how long I can talk. It feels good to know that I can talk until I feel better and then to assess somebody so understanding and sympathetic on the other end is just so overwhelming to me. In fact, they truly are my life saver. Thank u for thinking of me! Cause we forever will!!!

Highly recommend
I was skeptical at first. It took me 2 months after downloading the app to actually use it. When I did, I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up talking for an hour and a half. It was a relief to talk through things going on in my life with someone who would give honest feedback with no judgement. After the call my level of stress and anxiety about certain thing had gone down tremendously. I’ll defiantly call again.

Happy has been a resource for me through difficult times… Connecting with someone whose main goal is to listen to you and support you through what you’re experiencing - it makes a major difference. Extremely awkward people on the other end
Sometimes there are decent givers who are understanding and know what to say, and pay attention. Other times it’s a bunch of awkward people who are silent the entire time. Most of the time they’re not paying attention to what I say? I keep having to repeat myself over and over again. I’m glad there are some free calls, however. My goal is to vent but to have people actually listen to what I have to say instead of asking awkward questions and being silent.

Promises, promises, promises
Read everything. Watched the videos. Bought into the promise, but when I finally took the leap and made my first call, crickets. No Happy Givers available. Pretty sure I didn’t see that in all the information.

You know those times when you're completely maxed out and have zero margin for anything to go wrong? And someone comes along and dumps a new responsibility in your lap or fails to do their part so you suddenly have to deal with that too? Or the power goes out or your hard drive fails or you get sick or your mom has emergency surgery? Or you get a flat tire in the rain?
You know how you're cruising along thinking, "This is tough but I'll manage" and suddenly you can't? Overwhelm strikes like a sledgehammer and the tears of frustration burn your overtired eyes... You pick up the phone to call a friend and remember that they're in the midst of a personal crisis of their own and you simply can't ask them to listen to your problems... this makes everything worse and you can't think of anyone to call so you feel alone and abandoned and miserable... you know those times?
Happy the App is a dream come true for those moments.
