Locus91,
Generally good, but with some quirks
Initially, I had some problems updating to v3.0, but I received help from the developer to fix those issues.

The current version is certainly prettier, and allows one to track water consumption as well. Also, I can graph my weight loss over time. It might be useful to be able to add notes as we go of things that one finds useful/problematic to their weight loss journey. And be able to call them up along with the weight chart or just a history of events.

The only problems that I have noticed recently relate to the app’s need to ‘phone home’ almost every time that I switch to it. When I don’t have WiFi, that sometimes prevents me from getting to the entry screen. Also the ‘ads’ presented when I switch into the app can get repetitive.

Profile restrictions
I’d rate this app higher, but the Profile won’t let folks enter their start day and date. I tried calling customer service to get them to change it and they said that they can’t either. They claimed the fates were based on the day of the week when I opted to have group phone calls. What malarkey! My group call date is based on the convenience of my work day and personal time; that is totally irrelevant compared to the date I started the program. My start date was a Thursday (food arrived in the late afternoon. and I began at dinner once I got home.) My first full day was Friday. I would’ve been happy if the omnipotent being who entered my start day and date had used either of these days. Because they didn’t and I’m told those fields in my profile can’t be changed, all the summary data I see id either half the right size or twice the right size depending on when in the week I am looking at it. It’s my data, my start date, my group phone call, but “they” insist I use “their” week definition. Makes data that is collected useless to me. How frustrating!

Recent Issues
In general, I've really enjoyed having this app. It has super simplified sending mid week and full week numbers to my coach. I have 2 major issues though. From the start, it has populated my class time as 12:09pm, despite what I have listed in my Group settings. My second issue just started yesterday. When I populate information for the current date, it also populated the information on the following date. So instead of showing 12 shakes and 8 entrees at my mid week, it was showing 15 shakes and 10 entrees. I thought it would resolve itself when I updated it with today's data, but now it shows the data populated for tomorrow too. Please fix!

Santa Barbara Guy
Sure this program doesn't do everything in the world but it's not designed to. It's supposed to work with a very specific and highly regarded weight loss program that is offered by Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara and other facilities around the country. The weight loss program works very well. The computer app works very well too.

I just wish the authors would add the capability to track daily water consumption as that is the final item that needs to be tracked.

As a retired computer professional I imagine this would be a relatively simple addition. I hope the developers are watching the comments.

Disappointed
The HMR diet is decent but the ios app is aggravating. First, I use a password manager for all my identity info including account name and password. With other apps I can fill in these values automatically or with copy and paste. This app forces you to manually type account name and password. Most of my passwords ( different fir every site) are at least 30 characters long. Very painful to have to manually type. It also makes things LESS secure since I now have to actually expose the value to read and manually submit.

Also, the app forces you to provide personal information like birthdate to use it. Again, a security/ identity info vulnerability. I would not recommend using this app. If you do, do not give it real information. There is no need for them to have it.

Can’t view tips
Where is the ability to see the full version of the Tips? I can see a description that ends in ... , but there is no way to click to see the entire text or to take you to another page to read the entire tip. Occasionally there’s a button to link to notes or another part of the app, but you still don’t see the full text of the tip. For a feature that’s supposed to be helpful, it’s incredibly frustrating!!

Otherwise, I find it generally easy to track my progress. Please fix the tips!!

Cumbersome
Not exactly sure what the mindset was in the updated version of this app. The last version of the app was far more efficient. One example: Swiping to change dates in the log was far better than now having to go to the top of the page to pick a date to review.
Why was the notes page removed? Very useful to log times when I ate or drank something.
When we open the app, there are recipes or suggestions that pop up which is great. Problem is- I’m not interested in getting that info right then. Couldn’t there be a page that directs us to the tips etc? Then we can reference it when we want. I like the HMR program but the app is amateur at best.

INVALUABLE TOOL
Successfully keeping off weight is a lifetime work for me. I’ve been using the HMR system for nearly 30 years. The support has only gotten better! The addition of this app has improved the ease of the program. I’ve found the app to be intuitive to use. HMR supports it exceptionally well via personal phone support, which is unusual. Each upgrade just makes it better. THANKS HMR!!
Old Man Dancing,
App doesn’t know what day it is
I can’t enter data for today. When I try to swipe left to go to today, it tells me that I can’t enter data for future dates. It may be a future date in some other universe but, in THIS one, it’s Tuesday, 7 April. The app won’t let me go past 6 April.

Aside from that, the app is adequate, but no more. It takes a ridiculously long time to open. And entering your current weight takes about three times as many taps as it should.

The app has potential but, in its current form, it needs a lot of work. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s getting much attention.
HMRProgramParticipantWI,
Phase 2 Not Useful
I have had a lot of successes in the program, that’s great! The app is not even able to track servings of grains and proteins in phase 2. This is a primary objective of phase 2 and the app doesn’t even allow a simple tally counter. I have used LifeSum to track calories and exercise. It actually syncs with Apple Health for nutrition, water, and exercise/steps. HMR app doesn’t link to anything or any tracking devices or apps I need. Counting calories specifically to recipes has been extremely useful to my success and not being able to do it in the app doesn’t make any sense at all to me.
