Description

Built from the ground up for better security and reliability, the Home Audio app is now the best app for total control of every zone in your HTD whole-house audio system. It is compatible with the following central controllers made by HTD: Lync 6, Lync 12, MC-66, and MCA-66.

Initial Connection: Automatic system detection with most Wi-Fi networks has you using the app for the first time in under a minute. In the rare event your router configuration blocks automatic detection of our gateway, the app includes a simple one-time process to connect manually.

View and Control: The Home Audio app allows you to view and control all zones from a single system status page or drill down into each zone for more granular control. Control volume with both a scroll wheel and slide control. Mute and un-mute all zones with a single button press. Power off all zones with a single button press. Power on all zones to their previous state with a single button press. Power on all zones to a common source with party mode.

Customize your zone names and source names for both the app and keypads. Set treble, bass, and balance for every zone. Hide zones and sources you don’t want to appear in the app. For Lync 6v3 and Lync 12v3, also easily hide sources from appearing on LyncPads and LyncTouch keypads on a per zone basis.

Zone Groups: Create groups of zones to set a common source, set a common volume, or relatively control volume across multiple zones.

Presets: Create audio scenes called presets that set up multiple zones in your home with a single button press. For every zone set power on/off, source, volume, and DND (Do Not Disturb, Lync only).

App Shortcuts: Customize the app by adding shortcuts from a list of more than 40 popular music and audio apps, making it easy to toggle between the Home Audio app and your favorite audio service provider apps! Please note that a music streamer (not sold by HTD) that is compatible with your audio app(s) must be connected as one of your sources. To read more about music streamers please visit https://www.htd.com/streamers.

Lock custom settings on specific devices for use by kids and guests.

Backup and Restore: Account profiles make it easy to set up one phone or tablet and then “backup” those settings to our secure cloud so that other phones and tablets can be quickly set up with the same settings by “restoring” this information. You can also save every device’s unique configuration to the cloud by backing up with a unique phone number for that device.

Please note: The Home Audio app uses a new, more secure cloud backup system. Current users of the older HTD Lync or MC app will lose their profile data. Source names will be pulled from stored keypad names, but you will need to recreate groups and presets in this app. We apologize for this initial inconvenience, but it was necessary for us to create a more robust backup/restore feature.

This app works in portrait mode on smaller screens and both portrait and landscape mode on larger screens.

HTD whole-house audio systems are designed to work with virtually any audio device you connect as a source. As your audio sources change over time, your whole-house audio system will accommodate! Most users choose to connect at least one music streamer that is compatible with their favorite audio service(s). Read more at https://www.htd.com/streamers. The GW-SL1 or WGW-SL1 gateway provided with your system is used to connect your mobile phone or tablet to your whole-house audio system over your existing WiFi network. These gateways are not music streamers.

Needs minor improvements
Love my HTD system. I have twelve zones. Works pretty much just like the old app, but it would be nice if the zone name column and the source name column widths could be adjusted. I find that I need more width for the zone name. Also would be nice if it would rotate to landscape for ability to see more text and controls if needed.

HTD
What a stand up company that has been there for any needs I have had. Mike S. Has been a celebrity every time I spoke to him about the minor glitches and he’s been able to solve very quickly each and every time. I’m a very satisfied with the units and especially the support.
Rockymtnrick,
First impression is great
I’ve used the HTD Lync system (12 stations with a total of 37 speakers) since 2014. Of the three apps HTD has offered, this one is far above the first two. It found my system and had me working quickly.
AJ_Lonestar,
Love the app. The support is even better.
I had written a review about some issues I was having with the Home Audio app that seemed to only happen when using it with my iPhone. Short version pf the story was that I just couldn’t get the system to connect reliably. Hit and miss. And I was pretty frustrated thinking I had something that would never work correctly I was very wrong. When Brian Wines and Chris Ashmore of HTD heard I was having problems they jumped in. We did a LOT of trouble shooting and Chris (after a whole lot of testing of the app) zeroed in on the possibility that my router was causing the issue. On his recommendation, I swapped out my router for the EERO solution. Problem solved. I would NEVER have found the issue had these guys not stayed with it, run a battery of tests with me and got to the root of it. The outcome? Perfect! Zero issues with app (there really never were) since changing out to EERO, which is definitely a mesh system worth installing. The problem I had been bumping along with for months went away. As soon as I fired up the new mesh. These guys know technology, they know their product and they know customer service. They are the best. Period. I am more than happy to admit that when I posted a critical review I was dead wrong. And should have spent some time with these guys early on. Do yourselves a favor. Buy their stuff. You will not regret it. And by the way—-they are staying in touch to make sure that all is still good. You just can’t find service like this a lot of places. Thanks guys.
Lawrdent1,
Not connecting
Have had this system for about 7 years. Had trouble when using multiple iPhones. System would freeze up. Now downloaded this app and doesn’t even see the system. Not even entering manually
CUNSC,
HTD - New app makes system more friendly
First, I love this system (Hardware) and the options for various types of connections. They make it as easy as “falling of a log” to get connected. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Multiple source devices can be attached to the system. The source/output room can be mixed and matched as desired. One source for all rooms, different sources for each room and additional sources may be attached to the system via wifi, bluetooth or hardwired. There are simple ways to expand the number of input devices and availability of input locations. There are many device connection options and the more wired you location the more unique options are available.

The App is super easy to use and the network connection interface is simple to install and set up.

The app is very convenient, logical and easy to navigate. Set up (naming devices and output location) is straight forward.

After setup is completed the main screen (System Status) provides individual access to the room (zone), source and volume for each room (zone). Simply touch the screen over the parameter you want to change. To change all parameters on one screen touch the room (zone) name. Tone (bass and treble) controls as well as source and volume controls are found on this one screen.

Adjusting any of these parameters is easy. Simply touch the item you want to change and a list (on a rotary dial) appears. Touch your new setting on the rotary wheel and press select.

Another feature I like is the ability to group zones for quick selection, the ability to hide sources and zones and the availability of presets.
DRocksIt,
Joke
Setting reset no way to move between devices really a joke I can’t believe this app was even published
