Release notes from version 1.1:

- Advertisements have been completely removed, making for a much more pleasant gaming experience.
- Maps have been added to Campaign Mode, giving a better sense of progression.
- The first level of each map is a checkpoint, so when the player dies, he or she is returned to the start of that day, instead of having to start a new game from scratch.
- Each new map starts with new enemy types and increases the number of enemies, keeping the game challenging and fun.
- Next to buying the full game, players can also purchase ability refills and revives, helping you to get past those last levels to reach the next map. Of course, these are completely optional.
- Players who enjoyed the previous Campaign Mode, where you have to start a new game upon death; can still enjoy this style of gameplay in Survivor Mode.

More improvements and changes - including an upgrades overview and new enemy types - are currently in development and will be incorporated in future updates. Please keep sending me you feedback and have a great day!

hibird89,
It’s good but like....
Overall the game is not bad, the art style is very nice, gameplay is interesting and actually requires thinking (similar to chess). Music chosen is totally cool.
I have some complaints about just the game play. I suppose part of it is just to make it more challenging and whatever but
A) Please make it a thing to be able to attack units directly in front of you. I find it very irksome that you need to be 1 unit away from an object to attack it. If that’s just something that would make the game to easy then
B) Please please please at least have a skip a turn button. So instead of getting stuck in a situation where one has no way of skipping of a turn and no way of moving that they can just skip a turn.
gadgetgeek2,
Fun game that requires strategic thinking
Infinite West is a very clever use of chess-like strategy in an Old West theme. Your lone gunfighter faces am increasing number of enemies on each level. There are different types of enemies, each of which can only attack in certain ways (like chess pieces can only move in certain ways), such as straight horizontally or vertically, or diagonally, or to any adjacent space, etc. Your goal is to use your various moves and upgrades to defeat them so that you can move on to the next level. (Yes, you can get to the exit point and go to the next level without killing all of the enemies, but that's not the point of the game.)

I played and was entertained for several hours before i decided that I'd beaten the game because i had collected all of the upgrades and could win each new level. In other words, i got to a point where the game wasn't getting any harder. That's the only reason that i gave it 4 stars instead of 5: the computerized opponent that controls the enemy pieces isn't super clever.

I did not encounter any major bugs. Very occasionally, the "watch video" button (I was playing the free version) did not work so i had to hard exit the app, but everything worked fine when i restarted it and it had not lost my place.
72Jay27,
TL;DR: Fun game, small bug, annoying mechanic
This game is extremely fun. I got it recently, and have been playing it daily since. You have to watch an ad every time you get to level 5 to continue, which is slightly annoying, but much less so than some games.
I only have two complaints: Firstly, you can’t kill things in front of you. Normally, you step next to an enemy to kill them, but if an enemy steps next to you (enemies can’t move and attack on the same turn), then you can’t use your turn to kill it. I get that it’s an added strategic element, but sometimes it results in you getting trapped in a corner, which you have to either dash out of or shoot the enemy blocking you. If you have no dash or shoot, then you have to restart.
Second, there’s a minor bug: When you are standing on the other side of a diagonal wall across from a knife-holder, like so:
-0@-
-$0-
(@=you, $=knife, 0=rock/obstacle)
The knifer can hit you, since its hit radius extends diagonally, and it’s not blocked by obstacles like the riflemen and gunners are.
Suggestions:
-Add more enemies; maybe one that charges straight forward in a line to attack?
-Add bosses every 10 or 20 levels

That’s all. Good game!
Hzlinzhi,
DO NOT BUY!!!!
After playing the first few levels, I was convinced that this game is worth the money, but soon I realized I was wrong. First of, paying money is suppose to unlock a new campaign(land mode) and enable us to save some progress in Day Mode. But guess what, the BUG made the entire Day Mode unavailable to play. So you only get half of what you purchased. DON’T BUY
Furthermore, the enemy in this game is too smart, especially in Land Mode, it is probably smart in Day Mode as well but SINCE I CANT EVEN PLAY IT, I don’t know.
The enemies in this game are so smart that they give you NO CHANCE AT ALL, they can trap you in a corner and keep us trapped forever. As a result, you can’t get far unless you pay again for upgrade. Because the enemies make no mistakes, you can’t kill them unless you use special skills, which are limited unless you pay again.
In general, screw you developer, this game is so bad that I wouldn’t play it even if it’s free.
Mahavites,
Great Game, Serious Game Breaking Bug
Infinite West is a great in concept and execution. It’s like a more complicated game of chess with a western theme and really cool art style.
However, as others have pointed out, it’s not uncommon to run into a bug that renders the main mode unplayable. After I purchased the full game unlock I would repeatedly run into a bug that would not let me make a selection to continue or quit after a failure that meant that I force close the app. This would work and let me get playing again... until it didn’t. Now if I try to load my save I get a black screen with the day number at the top and nothing else. Force closing the app no longer solves the problem.

I would definitely recommend Infinite West if it weren’t for this issue. Don’t spend your money until this gets fixed but when it does, by all means give it a go.
Tiny Ogre,
In-app purchases done wrong
I looked at the store page and saw only a single in-app purchase to unlock the full game listed. I am happy to support games that do that. But it’s a lie. There are many, many repeated in-app purchases for extra lives and upgrades. Without these, it is difficult to progress. The app store’s layout must have changed, seeing all of the in-app purchases is now hidden in a later section. Apple and this developer have both fallen down in this instance. There is even a point at which you are given two options, “Give Up” or “Buy a Revive” and GIve Up doesn’t even work! Nothing happens when you click it. You are forced to either spend actual money, or force kill the app.

It’s too bad because this is almost an amazing game, ruined by greed. Don’t spend money on this game. Vote with your dollars and support developers who sell you great games at fair prices.
butimnotracist,
Quite good
A fun, creative, and novel idea! Gameplay is well conceived; no complaints there.

Except…on my fourth play through of the game, I focused on upgrades rather than restocks, reloads, etc. and found that after 26 upgrades your character is fully upgraded. This wouldn’t be a problem, because the game gets consistently more difficult, but being fully upgraded in dash actually lets you complete each level in exactly two moves. I did this for three levels before quitting the app, and I’m probably never going to play it again (what would be the point?). It’s a shame, because even though the game is “infinite,” it’s not, really, once you get to a certain point.
Graetor123,
Entertaining, but needs work
The game is entertaining, but gets too difficult too quickly. I would suggest:
1) Allow an option to spend your turn attacking an adjacent square. Many times an opponent will block you in and force you to spend some type of resource to get past. Being able to simply attack them would resolve that issue.
2) Less randomization in whether an item shows up on any given level. Just make it so that there’s one random item per level, which will help with strategizing on how to best beat the level knowing what item you’re going to be able to get.
gonif,
Be “Blondie”; Outwit “Tuco” & “Angel Eyes”
You have to play like Eastwood’s character would in “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” rather than going at it like Rambo. People complaining about paying to win aren’t thinking like a chess game. You have to play moves & countermoves in your head, before committing to an action. It’s about being clever, not blasting everyone in your path.

The widespread bug that stops the game on the map/progress screen is real. Can happen at any level, judging by reviews. For me, it’s level 5, round 3. The bug is a game killer, with no way around except to restart your progress. Otherwise, it’s a nicely polished strategy game with a fantastic theme.
Rhomphaia,
Great game with a hitch
The concept of this game is excellent. I paid the $2 and am very happy with the purchase. However. There is a really annoying glitch on the iPad version. If your character is in the lower left area and you try to use one of your specials it will either move you that direction in stead or move you and use the special if it is the healing one. I tried to turn off the swipe controls but that option does not actually turn off the swipe controls. It just enabled the ability to touch where you want to move.
