marmoo,
Good but won't post to Facebook!
I really like this interval app. I've used it to, er, restart my running habit just about every year after I inevitably fall off the wagon. I like the simplicity of it, and the directness of the spoken instructions during a run - nothing gimmicky, just a direction. My only criticism is that it never allows me to post to Facebook! I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times, and it still won't post! I don't know what's wrong, but it has been a problem since I first downloaded the app in 2012...

Still Great, Despite Shortcomings in Customization
Very clean & intuitive. Building new workouts is quick & easy.
I wish I could custom label the steps in the workouts, though. Most timer apps have this feature, allowing you to build more than just running routines. Still, I use this app over the dozen or so others I've tried because it is otherwise perfect. 👍🏽

Great but No Apple Watch App?
I LOVE this app! Will you be coming up with the Apple Watch version of this app soon?

Nice concept but doesn’t work
Used this today, day 1....started well but half way through workout it just stopped and then there was no way to get back to the same point or even to start over the workout and push a start button at my previous time marker Super disappointed and trying to cancel. Work out the functionality and try again.

Needs Apple Watch Support
Good but, really needs Apple Watch support. Can't use it without my phone so, I don't use it.
Mustache Villain,
Very nice, would be perfect with one small mod
Very easy to use and even comes with several interval programs pre-loaded. A great value, especially if you're planning on doing the Couch 2 to 5K program. With this app, you've also got the option of creating your own workouts if you wish.

I'd give it 5 stars except for one minor issue with the pre-loaded workouts: they include the suggested 5 minute warm-up but not a cool down. This isn't a deal-breaker by any means, but it would be nice to be able to modify the pre-set workouts to include the cool down.

Otherwise, a solid app, useful for those who want a structured program as well as those who want to create their own interval workouts.

Interrupts Music Every Minute Even on Silent
This app gas a minute counter that turns down your music every minute — EVEN WHEN YOU PUT THE MINUTE COUNTER ON SILENT MODE. I want my 1.99 back!!
Elisabetz,
Actually has me running!
For some reason I decided to start running... And a friend told me about c25k and her iPhone app... I got an iTouch and decided to shop around for my interval program. I really like this one... I just wish it had a pause button and that you could use iPod controls while it was running. Today, I had to both stop and re-tie my shoe, and my earphone jack came out... Had to stop the program and restart to get the music going again. Would have liked to pause to tie my shoe, and not have 2 "workouts" for today's run, but I didn't have to start over at least! Overall, fabulous since I actually went out (again) today! Which for a beginner (aka... Previous "I don't run" - er) is a HUGE deal!
Lou2005,
This fits all the needs of interval training timers.
First I tried the free app GymBoss. But the alarms aren't audible when the ipod is sleeping.
Then I tried the free app WOD Timer. It was fine but I sometimes lost track of what I was doing.
So I figured I would pony up the $2 and check out this one. I'm glad I did.
First of all, for beginners you have the Couch to 5K program built in.
Then for the intermediates you have the Gateway to 8K program built in.
Then for the advanced you have the one hour runner program built in.
If you have your own plan, you can create your own program in the "My Workouts" section. I created one and found the interface totally intuitive, flexible, and easy to use. It's even got the "Tabata" workout pre-programed.
I went out today, started my playlist, started my Nike+ workout, and started up my Interval Run workout. The thing worked without a hitch and i never once had to look at my iPod.
What's also cool is that if you want to modify your workout on the fly it allows you to skip intervals. I also like how adjustable the spoken feedback is.
broken_ankle,
Perfect app for almost any interval training protocol
I really like this app, its easy to use, very flexible, and works flawlessly. I wanted to do a variety of different interval training, -from 10-1 run/walk, to LT running test, to a tempo run, but, still be able to play my running tunes. This app will do just that - and simply interrupt the music to advise you on the interval and/or status. It also has a number of built in running programs such as the c25k. I like that you can create both long (up to 1 hr) and short intervals, and also have more than a simple 1:1 type interval selection.
