Easiest way to train
I’ve used many different fitness methods in my life and the best thing for has been personal training with an actual trainer who gets to know my needs and can personalize my routine for me, but that was the most expensive way of doing things.

This app and company do the same exact level of personalization AND trainer interaction you’d expect from an in-person trainer because they have actual trainers that get to know you and keep in contact with you and bug you to do your workouts for the week (and honestly that’s what I’m paying for, someone to positively nag me to do my workouts). It’s remote training, but the app itself is built to be super informative and useful for when you’re actually in the gym using the weights and machines.

Don’t bother with one of the cheap ai apps that feel generic and impersonal. This is the best way to train if you have goals you want to reach and don’t have the ability to shell out $$$$ every month for an in-person trainer.

Intuitive, flexible, and streamlined
I was very skeptical about a personal training app but I live about 30 minutes from a gym so I wanted to try something. So far my expectations have been exceeded. The initial meeting with trainer, Dr. Brian Boyle, was really helpful, a lot of back and forth questions and answers. Today was my first workout, and I thought the training plan itself was tough enough and varied enough.

I was impressed by the app itself. It sounds like it’s glitchy or has other problems, according to other reviews. But I had no problems, and I don’t even have WiFi out where I exercise. I thought it was pretty straightforward, with clear instructions and videos (and several alternatives for each exercise, to match whatever equipment you may or may not have). It times you and walks you through the whole circuit.

Not sure yet if I will reach my goals, but if I don’t, I don’t think it will Dr. Boyle’s or Kickoff’s fault.

Tried it on a whim, not disappointed
I usually don’t write reviews, but since this is a startup company I really want to encourage people to try it. I’ve been on “health kicks” before but they have never lasted, but the accountability aspect provided with the personal trainer has completely changed that. I’ve been working out and eating healthy consistently for months now and I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been. I also love the format. It’s very organized. I’ve always hated workout videos, but with the app they lay out all the exercises, reps, and weights, so it’s very easy to follow and you can do it at your own pace. I’ve been doing exercises that I never would’ve done in the past and they’ve proven very effectice. It’s a little pricey for me at $90/month, because I’m only 20, but it’s proven to be a fantastic investment for my health. And apparently that is much cheaper than many personal training programs. Highly recommend!!!

If you're looking for a comprehensive fitness and nutrition app with a REAL PERSON COACHING YOU to help you achieve your health goals, look no further than Kickoff. I've been using this app for months now, and I can't say enough good things about it.

Trainer perspective of kickoff
I’ve been training clients through kickoff for over a year now. I love the flexibility of being able to work from home while also being a stay at home mom. I’m able to individualize my clients workouts and send meal suggestions/feedback on their food choices. I feel I’m able to help many different people across many different levels which keeps things fun and interesting for myself. The only drawback I’ve had is the calorie/macro tracking. I give my clients a range to stay within, but it is up to the client to figure out what macros/calories are in each food item, which makes it a little challenging for the client when tracking food. Overall, it’s a great platform and I love being able to help people on their fitness journey ☺️

Love the Coaches App needs work
First of all notice 4/5. There are some useful features like a recipe bank, auto timer that goes through the workout so you don’t always have to click or watch a timer. My coach can load a workout and I can change weight or reps or find an alternative exercise. That is great if I don’t happen to all the equipment for the planned workout.
The things that need work are some of the videos don’t show the right exercise or crops a video that shows it. Like for a leg exercise the person demonstrating has legs cropped out of video. The menu used to be automated so you could pulled up a day and there are suggested meals.
So again notice 4/5 there are some awesome features and automation that make this app pretty amazing. Still some fixes would be nice but even if those things aren’t fixed I am still happy with kickoff, the app, and especially my coach.

Beyond Expectations
I will try to keep this as short as possible as I could write a book about my experience so far.
The app itself is great, easy to work with, love the timer and ability to adjust the time or sets! The program is beyond amazing! Specifically my trainer, Chelsea, an incredible person who I feel completely comfortable with which is very important when it comes to personal trainers. I have two chronic health conditions that have negatively impacted me for too long. She is helping me take back control of my life.

This is not a typical “here’s your exercises have a good week” Chelsea and I text daily! She takes my opinions on the exercises seriously and has been trailering the routines for me when needed. Never has made me feel anything but supported. Thank you Kickoff and more importantly THANK YOU CHELSEA.

Training with Kickoff
I’ve have been training with kickoff for almost two years now. My trainer helps me achieve my goals and keep track of things with the kickoff app. Each week I receive my plan for the week and I can adjust if I need.
Jennifer is my trainer and she continues to challenge me each week. She has conversations in person( on zoom) or with texts that help me see where I need to make changes and where I have been successful.
Working on nutrition has been a challenge . Not always easy to keep track of every meal! But the app helps and then Jennifer can offer suggestions!
I have noticeable strength in my legs and arms . I will continue to work on better nutrition. Visibly seeing it on the app helps me see I need to still make some changes!

An amazing app and a fantastic coach!
I have been so happy to find this amazing program and a coach that makes my exercise more effective. I was looking to move to online training in the wake if COVID-19 and an increasingly hectic schedule. Coach Tayler and the Kickoff app have more than exceeded my expectations. I hear from him every weekday, get great feedback on diet and exercise, and I don’t need to worry about planning my daily workouts or how to correctly up my reps and weight. I appreciate the step by step demonstration of each workout, the built in timing, and the simple interface. Best of all is working with a responsive coach who knows what they are doing. Tayler has helped with an old shoulder issue and really improved my strength and eating. I love the results!

This is a full-on scam
Kickoff should be your last resort if you’re looking to improve your health this year. Even Camp Gladiator, which I also consider a scam, is a better option.

Kickoff’s crimes are legion:

1) Their trainers are not required to be nationally certified. This matters because certifications need to be regularly renewed, unlike diplomas. Certifications prove the trainer is current and competent.

2) There are no registered dietitians on the staff. This matters because it effectively makes Kickoff’s nutrition guidance illegal, because only RDs can legally give out meal plans and you can’t outtrain a bad diet.

3) The REAL kicker, from a former Kickoff trainer who confided this to me: Because Kickoff is really an AI- powered program, the trainers are not allowed to use their professional judgment. Want a qualified professional who truly understands you and will adjust to your specific needs? Good luck with that, because you probably won’t find one here.

This is an elongated way of saying that if you commit to this platform, you were too stupid or lazy to do your homework. The smart money is still to work 1-to-1 with a REAL certified trainer and hire a registered dietitian as well. It’s more expensive of course, but you’ll get actual results instead of being set up to fail by this scam of a platform that only pretends to cater to you needs. Avoid at all costs.
