Lady Picky,
Outstanding Innovative Moves But one caution
The high pulls and walking bench push-ups provide great challenges to participants👍. Be aware that the backward stepping lunges can easily cause Achilles tendinitis… It did in my right leg, and as a result, I have been unable to teach for three months and counting!😩

I’m really glad that the app is so user-friendly, facilitates creating playlists quickly and efficiently, and that everything I need to practice is all in one spot.

I have one complaint about the download (not the app). Sometimes when I print out a page of the choreography notes, they bleed off the page and sometimes as much as five lines are cut off; yet when I view the page preview, it’s all complete and NOT cut off. Why?
anaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh,
Constant glitches. Please fire your developers and start over.
I can’t count how many times I’ve had issues with this app. I’ve decided to write it off and download all materials to use through iTunes. The app is no longer new. It shouldn’t have such massive issues anymore. Instructors pay a huge price for access to these materials and clearly not enough of that money is spent on improving this tool.
1. The CX is cumbersome. I want to be able to browse releases easily without constant back and forth.
2. Every time there is a new release something breaks. This morning it just started pausing constantly in the middle of my class and because I stupidly relied on this app to serve it’s purpose my class was a disaster as a result.
3. Music disappears or won’t play often and without warning even if downloaded. Before they launched the ability to refresh a release you had to delete the entire app and redownload to get it back. And there was no guarantee it would work. Sometimes would have to do this a handful of times.
4. The refresh release function doesn’t work! Why give a feature that won’t work? So perplexed.
5. If you try to watch a part of the video then leave to go listen to the music the video is still playing in the background unless you quit the app and restart it.
6. Instead of fixing glitches they launched new ways to gain our trust then screw us mid class aka playlists!

Basically don’t bother with this unless you have some desire to have it crap out on you mid class.
ruthkack,
No sound with video
I fully understand all the money les mills pays to have the right to use music. And they want that protected. However, this app is a disaster and rarely works. It is a hope and prayer every time. And I have ended up using old releases because of it.
Right now, I can see the video, but there is NO sound with it. The music plays well just as music. But then why are we paying for also the video if there is no sound? ( there has been sound in the past, it is just inconsistent and unreliable)
I kept the expletives out of my review, but you can insert them at will to feel my frustration.
CV1229,
Love ease but still not 100%
I love the ease of having an app instead of printing off choreography notes & separately downloading music. I love how you can use while not connected to WiFi.
I’ve walked into class & out of the blue all my releases were hone....not the best feeling & definitely didn’t look professional. Even after downloaded, the app is slow & I have to reboot iPad. I can open the app on the way to work, close it, walk into class & it not open. I also hate you have to delete all releases to download the new release.
Having all the info together is amazing but there are still a few issues.
thebrayngame,
Much much improved!
This app has come a long way! It is very stable, and offers essential learning features that iTunes just can’t match. The ability to fast forward and rewind in 15 second chunks is probably my most used feature. So helpful when you want to zoom in on one section of choreography. The ability to see the choreography notes along with the video has also been a game changer. Now that it has a playlist feature where you can add spaces of silence between certain tracks, clutch! I highly recommend this app now to all instructors. I’ve made the switch to using it in all of my classes.
disappointed in the US,
LMI is great, their app is not
I used to be able to use this app no problem. A great tool for instructors like me on the go and learning choreography as we work our full time jobs and parent. But now I have to reload the app EVERY time I want to access it. I’ve tried it on and off WiFi. I can’t even get the app to load to get to my programs to download. After making a tool that gets us hooked on it as a resource, why is it not maintained so that it can keep up with new phones and bugs? So very disappointing from a company with the clout that LMI has worldwide. (And when I tried to post this with the nicknames “disappointed, “let down,” “frustrated,” “so disappointed,” etc. they were ALL taken. Than should tell LMI something.)
Bozdvr888,
Customizations
I know you can add tracks to the app under the custom tracks. I think it would be more user friendly if you can substitute tracks or add a track between tracks you’ve already selected. Example: If I put all of Bodypump 105 on a custom playlist and want to substitute the back track with one from Body Pump 107 I have to delete all the tracks following the back track, add the track from 107, then add the rest of the tracks. If we can input a track between two tracks would make the app much more user friendly.
JBD-C,
Just so many quirks
I have the iPhone 10 and can hold a lot of data. This app needs constant attention! At times It takes forever to reload a video much less trying to watch one without the constant buffering or pausing or stalling on this app is super frustrating! Not to mention having to reload ALL of your music and videos after an update! This is one of the most important apps for me as I teach 5 programs and am on a constant go and this is by far the most annoying and broken app I have to deal with! The concept is great because it is so convenient with rewind, voice and a lot of other options you can use to learn the program but whomever built this app has far to go for it to be functioning at good standard.
Hank Brekke,
Great In-Class, Not for Studying
With this app, I can separate my Les Mills music from my Apple Music, and it’s certainly been the right choice—now I have a single place for workout songs, and my Apple Music account doesn’t recommend workout music nonstop.

My biggest complaint in Releases is that they don’t use the built-in PDF viewer, and there are problems with the custom viewer in this app:

- Scrolling is really slow, so trying to “flip” through the PDF and move 16 pages will take too long
- After pressing a link to jump to a page, there’s no easy way to return to the table of contents, except closing the document and re-opening it

If this app had better PDF support, I could stop using Instructor Portal all together. Often I’m trying to brush up on choreography right before a class, and have to use the real PDF download.

Also, making playlists is really difficult because there is no search to find a specific artist, and you need to tap into each release just to see which tracks are available.
CrashTimes3,
Inconsistent Functionality
I had previously rated this app with 1-star, but the issue of connectivity has resolved. The issue that keeps happening to me now is that I will download the music and chorey for offline use, but after a few successful logins, the release will “reset” and remove the media from my phone, and (seemingly) always when I do not have network connectivity. This is assuming the app doesn’t make me reset my password (happened twice already in 20 calendar days). It would also be great if Face Recognition worked. I understand DRM is a real issue but if you’re not going to relent and help us out, what is the point of these beautiful bells and whistles?
