Jess52789013,
This app changed my life
This app changed my life and helped me restore my health. I’m 20 years old, and a few months ago, I could not digest more than a couple ounces of protein at a time. I never felt well- I suffered from severe acid reflux, bloating, gas, constipation, and hair loss, and the anxiety surrounding food ruled my life. After a few months on the low FODMAP diet, all my digestion issues have resolved, and I feel so much better and happier. This app makes it possible for me to quickly and confidentially make the right choices and feel well day to day. The information about FODMAPs varies from source to source and is often inaccurate, but I have found that this app is always accurate and reliable. Thank you for developing this guide and helping IBS sufferers like me reclaim their lives.
Anastasia Rene,
FODMAP app is a lifesaver
For unknown reasons I developed “adult-onset-allergies” to dozens of foods, vegetation, etc. From getting allergy shots to developing SIBO (small intestinal hydrogen issues) my ability to eat anything has become so complicated! All my life I’ve rarely eaten anything “processed” or sugar (only Stevia and fresh meats, veggies & fruit). This APP” has become my guide from just shopping in supermarkets to dining in restaurants. I just returned from Europe where restaurateurs - and waiters - are totally in tune with ingredients and happy to help. It’s getting a bit better here, but is still slow to catch up.
When in doubt, CHECK THIS APP! Right at the table or in the market. It’s saved me physical pain from digestive issues and sleepless nights.
Ready Set Read,
Very helpful
This app is very helpful when stating portion size for each item simply by tapping on it. This way, a person can know how much is considered an average portion and that a smaller portion of a certain food may not cause adverse effects. The app also breaks down the components that can cause possible bad reactions in each item so a person might learn which components they are most sensitive to. I like the three color system for this and for each food item in general. I’m glad the developer will continue to add more food choices as reliable information about them becomes available.
Isisisgreat,
Helpful for most
It’s a simple and straightforward app that does exactly what it says it will do. Only problem? I have IBS but don’t have issues with all kinds of polyols, only really mannitol. And I can’t filter by mannitol — only all polyols. So ultimately, this has become a mostly useless app unfortunately, since I just have to search online for the mannitol list and try to recite it in my head.

Would be nice if there was a way to (a) filter by specific polyols (since the information exists) and (b) put notes and feedback about my own food sensitivity into the app for future reference. Ah well. Back to app hunting.
figuringthisout,
Super helpful but with potential for enhancement
Love this app as a quick reference - I’ve already started to nail down how to adjust my diet to avoid triggering my stomach issues.
There are a couple of potential enhancements I can think of that would merit this 5-stars though. First, I wish there were more ingredients listed since sometimes I want to look up something I see on a label, but 90% of the time the app has what I’m looking for. Second, I wish I could tag a food/ingredient into a “good” and “bad” bucket to help me track what I’m finding as an irritant and what I’m not.
KLD505,
Great App
This has been the only app I use or need for following a FODMAPS diet. They have 99% of the foods I search for in their database. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the design/layout of the app is unappealing, & because there is no way to save past searches, or save a list of items for quick access to view info again. But it does all things I expect a FODMAPS app to do, it works smoothly & with no hassles, so I'm very happy with it. Recommended!
Susie Q Jones,
So far.. mostly helpful/useful
I’m trying to find my way through the 3 phases of Elimination diet and what I can and cannot eat. There are some things that don’t come up here and I try and search google for answers. There are also things I have no idea on here what they are? Kangaroo? As in those cute things that hop around in Australia????!! Yikes why would I eat that!?! So I think it’s still a work in progress, but helpful in a pinch for shopping/cooking or in a restaurant.
PhelineCat,
Offers worst case scenarios
A food might show up as not ok but a closer look shows smaller servings will do. I guess a user could memorize the workable food; can't label or sort them. Pity, that. Really, there's not so much reason to worry unless you really can't afford the $8 for Monash University's FODMAP app (it is a bit pricey, isn't it? I'd forgotten how much I'd spent) There's good and bad lists online, the nutritionist should give you information, UM University of Michigan has a Pinterest with specific brands.

It all points to the stupidity of "I'll just go gluten and dairy free; that'll help", doesn't it?
Homeschooled Misfit 1,
I kinda like it
It’s a good app to show WHAT FODMAPs are in a product (unlike Fig). I can see if a product includes FODMAPs. However, I think they should also show the amber and red servings so you can see how much is too much. Like, I eat coconut cream dairy free yogurt, and all I know is that FODMAP a-z only gives me the 1/4 cup serving list, but nothing bigger. It would just be nice if it also gave bigger serving sizes. Otherwise it’s a good app and the ads are actually helpful for us IBS (I think, though I’m going to get tested for IBD) sufferers.
GFvegan,
It does what I need mostly
I like that this app tells you servings of FODMAPS. That helps me a ton. However, I wish it had more food choices and that it was easier to look up a specific item. Also some conflicting information such as searching for soy milk. One says it’s high and the other says low depending on how you searched for it. I do like having a quick reference though and it saves me from buying the $8 app.
