Happy Birthday to us! We’ve been lucky enough to bring you ten years of new maps, game modes, and more since Mini Metro was first released in 2013. To celebrate our Miniversary, here’s one of our biggest updates yet! This update includes:

• Three brand-new maps! We’ve brought three of our most popular cities from Mini Motorways and their gorgeous colour palettes to Mini Metro. Another Shinkansen map is yours to enjoy in Tokyo. Or you can carefully traverse the rivers of Warsaw. If you want more than just rivers, the Portuguese coast is yours to explore in Lisbon, a tricky five-line map.
• An all-new photo mode! Export screenshots of your metro networks with decorative frames to show off your unique cities.
• A much-loved feature from Mini Motorways comes to Mini Metro in the form of a new way to capture GIFs. Export colourful animations of your metro networks at any stage in their growth to share with friends or just for bragging rights.
• This update also features various improvements and bug fixes.

If you haven’t played it in a bit, we’ve also brought three Mini Metro maps into Mini Motorways! We’ve dusted them with a bit of Mini Metro magic, too, as each map requires you to build around an existing railroad network with spawning train stations.

kikikayla1065,
Great game but can improve game play experience
I love the Mini Motorways and the Mini Metro games, it’s challenging but doesn’t lack the fun. However, in both games, there are some logically/common sense things that the game doesn’t allow us to do. In Mini Metro, it’s awfully hard to play via a phone. Sometimes you are just trying to extend a line and the game thinks I am trying to start a new line; You can’t drag a line to connect a different station if that section is already connected to a station; You can’t re-draw lines in the middle, and you have to find the head/tail to go back and fix something; All these things distracts from actually solving the puzzle to trying so hard to get everything how I want them to be. There’s not so much in Mini Motorways… but there was something that kept bothering me… I’ll write another review if I remembers later.
However! These are still some great games! I’ll be trying to find a way to get a higher score in motorways.
Angalisey,
Great game, but tracking progress is tedious
I’ve been wholly addicted to this game since finding it a few weeks ago. I love how simple it is on the surface but how challenging it can be, and it’s a great game to play while listening to audiobooks which are my favorite.

There’s one thing that bugs me that I either can’t figure out or that doesn’t exist, and that’s around how to track whether I’ve gotten the goals for each city. I want to replay ones where I haven’t achieved all the goals, but I can’t tell which ones I have or haven’t completed.

I’d also like if I could see my history on a level over time. The graph next to the Challenges icon seems like it should do that, but it’s just a blank list (maybe because I don’t have any friends who also play?).

They’re small pet peeves but are the QoL kind of things that keep this from being a perfect 5 stars. Even something as simple as changing the color of the challenges button when they’re all complete would knock this game into 5-star territory!
Karaokekoncerts,
Fun until….
I’m an avid sim city/City skylines ‘gamer’. I’m drawn to the construction aspect and moving traffic. This game is fun, LOADS of fun, so don’t get me wrong here: there is a horrendous algorithm that drops the same station type repeatedly and right next to each other (most prevalent is the circle station, 7 to 8 in a line?!? Woah….). There is such a thing as making a game challenging and a whole other thing making it discouraging, disappointing and extremely frustrating 75% of the time. I’ve opened every city, so it’s not as if I can’t play the game with success. I know that I can reroute and remake the lines, but when you’re starting out the game and all you have is one triangle, one square and eight circles…. nah. I play games for fun, not to tick me off more than my kid slipping out their bedroom window at night. Let’s get back to work and rewrite that algorithm so it is still challenging but doesn’t make me want to throw myself off a pseudo bridge (when I manage to actually get a bridge in the “rewards”……🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️)
Jojamu,
Fun, Plain, & Simple
Mini Metro is a minimalist masterpiece. Everything just works and looks so well. The theme extends throughout the game making time spent playing it really immersive. It’s a puzzle game to a degree, but also a game of chance and faith. There’s no way a human mind can come up with the perfect solution to the puzzles, if we could then public transportation wouldn’t be as bad as it is in some places. But for this reason, I don’t really get disappointed or mad at myself if I “lose,” making the game all the more enjoyable. The sound design is also a top notch compliment to the visual style of the game. I love that I can just pick it up and start playing with no 20 minute tutorial. It’s just a calm, serene an enjoyable time. Possibly the only time you could describe a subway experience with those words.
ghostygrill,
Visually confusing
I love mini motorways and decided to give mini metro+ a go as well. Unfortunately, I found the game very visually confusing. The use of shapes needing to get to separate destinations was good in theory, but it’s often difficult to even tell what shapes they are, which train they’re on, or where they need to go. You often have to sacrifice being able to tell what going on visually for efficiency which results in train lines overlapping and being unable to tell where they connect or where they go. I believe it would make more sense to move colors around (like you do in mini motorways) and have the trains be numbered or patterned. However that’s just my personal opinion and the game has a lot of potential. If you aren’t one who has trouble with visual processing, you might enjoy the game more than I did.
Serene sunny star,
I love this game
I’ve read other reviews where people get very frustrated with this game, but that isn’t the case for me. The puzzle has a simple object: get the passengers from point A to point B (or C). As time goes on, you get more stations, more passengers, and more supplies to grow your metro. When it’s simple it isn’t boring, and when it is chaotic it isn’t stressful. Compared to others on the leaderboard, I am awful at this game, but I still feel a sense of accomplishment when I lose. I’m aware that how I feel about this game won’t be how everyone feels, but many would agree with me that anyone could enjoy this game. I hope you found this review helpful.
BeanWritesReviews,
I’m obsessed
This game is so incredibly addicting and fun, I’ve been going through the different cities super fast. I would recommend this to anyone, honestly, it’s a good time. I have my whole family playing it haha.

My only issue is that you can’t see how many items you have if you have more than 4 and it’s hard to see how many trains are on a line at a glance. It would be so useful if there was a numeric counter next to the lines/object inventory to show the amount of trains/items on a line/in your reserves.

Thanks for making a quality mobile game, we all know how hard those are to come by these days. :)
Chumpy2003,
Deceptively simple
I haven’t downloaded a new game for a while. I found this when I was looking for a Transport Tycoon-style game, and I’m addicted! It’s beautifully designed (graphics and sound) and both relaxing and stressful at the same time. On the surface, it’s a simple game; keep the passengers moving, don’t let the stations get overcrowded. Limitless ways to achieve that, but as the number of stations increase, so your networks begin to get overloaded. Will you make it to Sunday night, when you get additional lines, trains, carriages, or bridges? If you prefer roads, try their sister app - Mini Motorways. I’m addicted to that one too.
Jeremy John 413,
Beautiful challenging game
At first play this game seems like a “chill” easy game that you play to relax. In fact it’s a deceptively deep strategy game where you learn to develop principles that guide your choices. Each map is also slightly different, so you can’t play each one the same way. Some maps are annoyingly hard, but you can pick whichever one you want. My only complaint is that you should be able to record a score with the daily challenge every day. If not, what’s the point of waiting for 8pm? Lol
ARRow7,
I apologize but I did not enjoy.
I started playing again after playing the original and I remembered why I quit the game. I got to the point where it just got too aggravating. Half the time my tracks for some reason hardly connected. Every time I try to remove a track and put it somewhere else it would mess up my entire thing. I remember it being easier than this. I simply find it as one of the most rage inducing games on the market at the moment. There needs to be a way to slow the stations. I had 5 locomotives on one tack 3 of which had 3 carts. And that was the track that filled the fastest.

I would say to stay away from this game, but if you can handle it, by all means go ahead.
