Based on an analysis of the learning history of more than 100,000 MochiMochi users worldwide over the past 1 year, Mochi continues to improve the original algorithm to help you learn more effectively.
2. Release a brand new feature - choose words that you want to revise:
This feature will help you can remove words that are familiar or words that you do not want to revise.
Besides, you can easily search a word in the list of learned words thanks to the search feature. And you can choose words from each level with the new interface of the vocabulary list.
3. Save your learning result no matter what:
In case you are finishing a lesson or reviewing and experiencing a slow network situation, a crash, or accidentally exit the app, the results will still be saved on the device. As soon as you reopen the app and have a stable network connection, the results will be synchronized with the system.
4. Update notice feature:
The app will remind you whenever there are more words to review, so you do not forget the "Perfect Time" to revise.
5. Improve the lesson loading experience:

Very helpful and kind of fun
This is a spaced repetition style learning app, where you have choices about how the vocabulary is organized. It’s grouped into themes, into N? levels, etc. The memory quizzes are short (anywhere from 1-8 words unless you put off doing them. Then they can add up,) and they are unevenly spaced throughout the day (though it does tell you when the next quiz will be.)
I found that I actually enjoyed the gentle game-ification (moving words up levels of fluency) and looked forward to the next quiz. I would NOT use this as my only app for learning Japanese, but it would pair well with WaniKani (for Kanji),DuoLingo, Memrise, or other Japanese language app. It’s probably helpful to combine use of maybe 3 different style learning apps if you’re serious about learning.

Good but frustrating at times
The app works well and does a good job at helping you remember kanji/ Japanese words. But one thing I find absolutely annoying is how you’re not allowed to set a “maximum cap” on the words you learn during golden time sometimes it gives you 1 word, other times it gives you 47 it would be nice if you set an amount you’re comfortable with doing every golden hour because when you have 40+ words to review it makes it difficult to remember the words you just learned. it would also be nice if you could set a range of times to where it wouldn’t add words to golden time like when you’re sleeping. It’s quite annoying when you wake up in the morning and see you have 60+ words to review because the timer never stops. I will give it a 5 star rating if/when those features are applied.
UPDATE: Downgraded to 2 stars because it gave me 104 words to review as I woke up this morning. A Completely unacceptable and absurd amount of words to review. This is supposed to be a teaching app right? All that does is make me frustrated and discouraged.

MochiMochi
MochiMochi is a great app so far! It’s straight forward, easy to use, and it HELPS! I downloaded it just yesterday, but I feel like I’ve had it forever! It’s helped so much already. The only Kanji I knew before using it was “日本”, a couple of numbers, and countries. Now, my Kanji vocabulary has increased. I love it, and the art style is adorable. I love how it doesn’t rely on Romaji, just Hiragana and plain English. The app seems so professional, I don’t see why more people don’t use it. Way better than Duolingo in helping with memorization. 4.7/5!
P.S. It is helpful to know Hiragana before using this app, since Hiragana is basically level 0-3 Japanese, and is really easy to learn. Kanji is by far the most difficult to learn, but having previous Japanese knowledge is very helpful. <3

The app is great and so is the customer service
This app gives keeps you on track for learning Japanese by reminding you almost hourly to review the words you previously learned in lessons
Another thing is I had an issue with being able to review and error popping up saying “No Data” but I reached out to customer service and they were absolutely amazing in helping. Instead of dealing with a robot trying to solve your problem you get an actually person to chat with while you try to work out your problem.

More fun SRS app than others
This spaced repetition app is much more visually appealing (read: less boring) than others like Anki. If you like Japanese kawaii culture you’ll love this! I’m very happy that Minna No Nigongo has its own deck because I’m using that textbook. Please add a deck for Genki which I and many others also use. One note: I’m not ready for golden time after going through the day’s words one time… or even several times. I don’t remember them well enough to spell them that fast. I have to keep going over them many times first before I’m ready for the golden time challenge. Please make earlier golden time sessions easier because the words aren’t that good in my memory yet. For example, multiple choice at first before spelling a word out with no hint.

Some reasons I won’t be renewing
The spaced repetition is great, BUT … 1. NO OFFLINE MODE. This is terrible. The data is already downloaded. Why do you need to be online to use the app? (Syncing could be done later when back online. ) This means you can’t use the app on your long flights to and from Japan for example. Are the developers tracking you??? 2. No ability to review on demand. The app does not allow more intensive review. You just have to wait until a word or phrase comes up. I want to be able to test myself more often. 3. The timing for reviews has no concept of sleep. Requests for review pop up all night long. 4. Lots of errors. Several terms and phrases don’t have audio and a few don’t match what is presented in a sample sentence.

Good, but frustrating
I took two semesters of Japanese and my biggest weakness is learning Kanji. This app seems like a really good tool to learn it.
But I have one problem. Yeah, I should use a Japanese keyboard, but I don’t have one installed. So I do romaji inputs when it asks for me to type.
This app does not seem to consistently recognize the rule of double consonants (for small tsu in romaji) which can get you dinged for words you would otherwise input correctly. Thus wasting your learning time by delaying learning other words and putting you in a vicious cycle of just getting the same word wrong over and over again (mikka is a good example).
Currently I have a bunch of words at level 4… and I have one word stuck at level 1 - Nile River. This word gets counted wrong everytime I input the english romaji and it is no end of frustration for me.
If these things could be fixed, this app would work amazingly. But these issues, despite being small, sorta sabotage an otherwise pretty great experience

Need to know Hiragana before starting
Played with this for a bit. Saw no way to turn off music.
This is my first app to try to learn Kanji, I would appreciate if the words were grouped together. Like learning days of the week and months of the year together. It was a bit all over the place and with not basis I was learning January, Sunday, Monday, Thursday, with tree and Mount Fuji. I’m sure everyone learns differently, but mastering things in groups to grow associations works best for me.

Best Space Repetition App!
This is by far the most effective space repetition, and vocabulary building app I’ve ever used! However, the app could use some quality of life upgrades. Here are some personal pros and cons;
Pros
-Charming and visually appealing
-amazing system for tracking progress
-Includes all major Kanji from N5-N1
-Uses various methods for memorizing vocab.
-Uses “Golden Time” to remind you when to study again.
Cons
-Not recommend if you aren’t comfortable with hiragana & katakana yet, there are no romaji options as far as I can tell.
-App does not consider a sleeping schedule, you can literally receive a “Golden Time” reminder at 3am
-Study plans & suggestions are minimal. A simple “that’s enough for today” message could really help those who may have difficulty with pacing.
Overall an amazing app! Looking forward to future updates!😊

Fun and appealing!
So far this is the only app that has kept me learning for multiple days in a row. Usually I have a hard time sticking to an app and studying. The only thing I wish is that if you get an answer wrong that you could see the picture again to help with memorizing new words. You only get the picture once when learning the vocabulary. I also wish we could see all the words we have learned in our notebooks just in case we want to review quickly.
