Thinking about kids
I recently went off birth control and have been using Modern Fertility to track and understand my cycle. What makes this app different from other apps is that the focus is on ovulation and understanding your ovulation even if you have an irregular cycle or PCOS. You do need to buy Modern Fertility’s ovulation strips, which are $16 , to see your ovulation graph (other strips won’t work with the app). With the app and the modern fertility ovulation strips, I’m finding the app’s recommendations to be the most trustworthy compared to other apps I’ve tried. Their strips are semi quant, telling you a more exact LH reading which is helpful when you are approaching your two most fertile days. I like being able to see my LH surge and get reminders of when I should test for pregnancy.

This app is buggy and customer service is non responsive
I have yet to have a good experience with Modern Fertility and I’m very confused as to why there’s so much hype around this brand. From the moment I ordered my fertility test I encountered issues. The first issue was the purchase confirmation email didnt include any details about what I ordered or paid. My employer reimburses employees for fertility treatments and such so I needed to be able to send them a receipt. When o reached out for support I was met with nothing but incompetence and it took weeks to get what I asked for, which was simple receipt! Now my order doesn’t even show up in my account and I didn’t bother following up about that because trying to get a response from someone takes so long that it’s not even worth the wait.
Another issue I’m having with the app is I wasn’t able to select the correct start date for my cycle because the calendar was cut off. I emailed and texted for assistance, asking them to adjust it, but it’s been nearly a week and no response. How am I to even rely on this app to accurately track my flow and other things when I’m not even able to enter in my data correctly? Also really annoying that it’s not adjustable in the app. I shouldn’t have to reach out about simple stuff like this. Overall I’m very underwhelmed with this brand and won’t buy anything else from them and I’m deleting this app.

Great idea, frustrating app
I love these ovulation tests and app. HOWEVER, when I go to log my LH surge , it is soooo annoying how I have to hold it steady and it keeps saying “perfect this will take a few seconds” then it’ll say “it’s too close” then “try holding it over the strip” THEN it’ll do that so many times!! Over and over! Also, it’ll give me 4 different numbers on one test back to back! I’m looking at a test now and the line is as dark, if not DARKER than the control line and it says it’s only 30 LH! HOW?!?! On the package it SHOULD BE 65+ ! That’s what I would manually log! Soooo how is this possible? Also, it is pretty accurate about the days I ovulate as well as when my LH will be most elevated! That’s impressive that it gives me that knowledge!
This company should sell vitamins to help men and women conceive! So, all in all, yes I love the product. The app is great. HOWEVER, It’s soooo frustrating and annoying to take the photo and it always takes at least 10 min for one!! And it’s super annoying it doesn’t give me accurate LH numbers! Other than that, it’s ok. If there was another company that does this same thing, I honestly probably would try their app and test. I hope the app gets fixed for all of this bc otherwise this would be wonderful. Good luck.

Updated review: I’ve found that stabilizing the phone on an object makes the photo taking process much less infuriating (a toilet paper roll is the PERFECT height) so I’m still sticking with the app at least through all 20 tests. The tests are saying I’m surging while easy@home says I’m nowhere near he oh surge. I’m actually more inclined to believe Modern Fertility 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Love the purpose, needs more tools
The MF app is super easy to use and beautiful design - not cluttered with ads and content like the other period trackers out there. I like that it’s focused instead of including unnecessary things like community forums etc. However, it could use a few additions to really be the *only* app I need to track my cycle:
- i wish you could log notes in addition to LH surges / period / sex days (i want to be able to input period and ovulation symptoms like mucus tracking)
- the scanner is so sensitive to light i usually have to manually add my ovulation test, even on a white background and bright lighting
- i wish it would auto adjust my period cycle now that I’ve been using it for months and it knows that i ovulate on day 19! It keeps showing my most fertile days as day 13/14 based on a standard cycle and that’s no accurate for me. Even if i could manually adjust it would be helpful.

Best fertility app hands down
I am very impressed with this app! I am 32 and I have not had issues getting pregnant however I have been pregnant accidentally because I didn’t understand how everything worked. This app helped my learn to understand my cycle and gave me some insight into my own body. I never realized how amazing and complex women are! This app makes me feel in control like whenever I’m ready to get pregnant I will be able to do it no problem! In the community support inside the app is incredible! The other women are very supportive knowledgeable and easy to talk to. If you’re thinking about trying this app I would definitely recommend it whether trying to get pregnant or just trying to get to know your body.

Discouraging
First of all, this app is not very user friendly. I have to enter my tests manually because it will not read the lines correctly ever. I use the guide on the back of the test to enter the result. I do use modern fertility brand tests. Second, I feel that the cues it gives are discouraging. It says on 12 DPO your pregnancy test is 99 percent accurate. I’m going to that this is false considering implantation can happen anywhere between 6-12DPO. I tested on 12 DPO with my first daughter and it was completely negative not even a shadow of a line. I didn’t get a positive until the day my period was supposed to start. Third, you can’t track bbt on this app. Which means you will either need a separate app or a paper chart. Can’t track cm either. The only thing I use this app for is to compare with my Premom app. My predicted period and predicted ovulation are usually more accurate on this app than Premom. But Premom is so much easier to use.

Very Basic
This is a very basic app for tracking. I wish I could write notes with my “logs” such as “mild to moderate cramping” and to also be able to write down basal temps along with test strips for added documentation and having a better outlook of what my cycle is doing. For now I’ll just keep using a separate journal. The test strips are so far the best I’ve ever used. I can’t stomach the cost of digital trackers and cheap test strips have proven to be a bit inaccurate. I do think there is a learning curve with the camera and lighting to accurately read the test strips. Once I figured out what worked for my phone camera and lighting it read the strips correctly 9 out of 10. It also took a few days to understand how the app worked. Overall I am happy with the app but hope improvements are in the works for a better experience.

Amazing
I really hopes this goes well. I’ve transferred from my Apple health app to this one! The app is so secure and organized honestly! I love how they have an option of connecting with other women, I’m trying it out. If I don’t like it, I can always withdraw - and that’s what I like about it the most. && the fact they’ll ship items over without shipping fees!! That’s so helpful to us mothers and mothers to be. It’s like a market, a mini Facebook, a cycle and fertility tracker... and I love their subtitles, they are so cute and funny.
Seems very legit and I support it, especially with women in science!!!!

Not So Accurate
I got trapped by the numerous ads on Instagram so I decided to give this a try after unsuccessfully TTC. I’ve had such a hard time getting the camera to focus on the lines, especially that close. It gets blurry and then my hard is unstable that close to the strip.
When it does read the strip, I don’t think it’s very accurate. I tested three times in one day because the line was getting significantly darker- I was definitely at my peak in the middle of the day. The app said it was at 25, so I rescanned 2 more times. Then it finally read 40.
At times I’ve had to manually input my LH levels, which defeats the purpose of the app tracker and the MF branded strips. Also, there’s no place to put notes or add symptoms. Going back to my Flo period tracker and just writing it manually. (Been using a dry-erase marker on the top of my toilet to mark the dates/times, super handy!)
