Next level app and experience
There’s no reason this app shouldn’t be 5 stars from everyone because the team is actively seeking input and implementing it into the app which is just beyond the normal experience.

As far as the app itself goes, I’m a retired D1 athlete so I’ve always written my own programs and had success but recently I’ve just been too busy to switch up my programming and write home workouts and having it done for me takes a lot off. There are so many options and for the first time in my life I’m actually resting between sets because it’s planned for me and the knowledge base taught me that I’m an idiot for never resting before. Beyond programming you get a weekly shopping list and meals which just takes one more thing off my plate planning wise.

I was reticent to start given the price but it’s fully worth it, the daily cost is fully offset by the benefits! And you really are getting a personal trainer type experience because Matt will respond and critique your form on Form Friday’s, just did for me with deadlifts, which is really just above and beyond.

Overall amazing experience in every area and beyond impressed by the ability to both listen to feedback and give form feedback to customers.

It needs improvement….
I wanted to wait about a month to get used to the app before I have a review. Overall it’s okay. It can be quite frustrating that when I enter a weight and a rep count for an exercise and the next time I go to enter the same weight and rep it totally resets! The app should be intuitive enough to understand that the next weight will be the same not more than 10 LBS LESS. I have also ran into the issue of when skipping a cool down that the app turns off my music which is also frustrating, there should be a feature that completely turns off cooldown off we choose. When selecting through workouts and meal plans, the app completely exits out and it’s a loop. All of these are bugs and can be fixed. The workouts are good though, I like that it gives me structure and variety. One thing I would like to see, is a feature where Matt gives a brief description of what form to look for with the instructional video. I know there is a page where he explains how to do exercises but for when someone is in between sets it can be a lot to scroll through that separate page to look for a specific exercise. There could also be a quick description under the video. I am NOT disappointed with the app though, I don’t regret my year subscription and I look forward to the updates !

Good concept but the app needs serious improvement
The exercising logging function has been adequate and I have no problems there for the most part. The nutrition part of the app however has been VERY glitchy and has made logging in my meals a very frustrating experience. FIRST gives you the “option” to add custom meals but limits you to adding one per day for unknown reasons (if you try to add another it will not count them accurately towards your daily totals) and sometimes is inaccurate in adding them in first place (ex you will select completed on the meal but daily macros are unchanged). SECOND the switch meal function for a different recipe/custom meal is completely broken and has not worked since I downloaded the app. THIRD there’s an “add a meal” button at the bottom of each day but instead of adding to the same day it adds to the next days meal plan instead (not intuitive at all) and sometimes doesn’t add it altogether. FOURTH there’s no way revise your daily totals if you log in an extra meal by accident. FIFTH the computer generated shopping list is completely useless in that it will be based on eating different recipes everyday which would be extraordinarily expensive for the average person (I would recommend they redevelop this concept to allow people to choose 3-4 recipes for the week, which is how most people shop/eat).

Terrible App with Good Workouts
The app itself is terrible. Here is a list of very common issues I encounter every workout:
1) I constantly get logged out of my account when switching between apps (to change music). Often the app does not automatically log me in when I open it, and I have to sign in manually in the middle of a workout, multiple times.
2) the app freezes when I swap a movement for something else. I have to force close the app and relaunch it (and pray that I stay signed in). This happens 9/10 times.
3) often the sets/reps tracker glitches and does not track properly. It will sometimes say I have already done a movement when I haven’t, sometimes it will display sets/rep counts that are obviously not for the current movement, and sometimes it will stack additional sets that aren’t supposed to be there.
All of these issues compounded make me resort to screenshotting the list of movements for my workout and then using the timer on my phone instead of this app. I want to emphasize that these issues occur very regularly, sometimes every single time. And that’s not acceptable for an app that costs this much. It’s a shame that they skimped on the app development side of things because the features would be great, if they worked.

Great App
Close to one of the best apps out there for fitness. They really listen to your buddy and the workouts suggested have gotten my blood flowing through every muscle. Your really feel the burn. They listen to their users and really give a good lasting experience in the gym it is one thing that I can count on to get me a good work out is this app. It allows me to add new things try new things and learn new things. Different types of movements and really sets a plan when u get in and when you get out it is something that I will always want by my side on my phone and on the go!

Hi Morsia!

First off, I love you guys, I’ve watched everything you guys have put out, you guys are amazing and constantly developing yourself and helping others develop themselves as well.

I love the app, I think that the pricing is very reasonable, I think if I needed to change anything about the app I would say being able to add any additional workout sets to the current set, sometimes I like to add a little more cardio or one more set to get a good burn out.

I think being able to see your body animation as what body parts are more exhausted than others, where as, you do a large amount of bicep workouts it will show a darker color of that muscle group. Light bicep work would be a lighter color. I think it’s a great way to show people that are new to fitness where their exhaustion can be visually. Anyways, you guys will always be 5 stars to me. Thank you!

Good plans, poor execution
I love Matt, and the plans included seem really well thought out, but the app itself is kind of garbage. The user experience is nowhere near as good as other apps (like Fitbod). Having to constantly scroll through the weight used after every set is tedious; there’s no easy way to clear an exercise the app seems to think you did, just because you were reviewing the next day’s exercise; and once you complete a workout you can’t go back in and get your overall numbers. Plus the total weight calculations at the end are completely off. Matt deserves something better, and at $20/month, this just isn’t worth it.

Pretty good
The functionality of the app is good. I like the knowledge base section. The meals seem great, but really need a section to be able to document other ingredients for meals that you use (such as my fitness pal) to be able to track own calories. You can only use their meals to track, which does not help me. The workouts are decent. They are fairly similar to each other. It would be good to incorporate more HITT training throughout a fat loss workout for example. Finally, it would be awesome to have a section where you can track
Your maxes. Even better would be a calculation to tell you how much to lift (a target) based on your maxes.

Wonderful App
Tho app is so great. Super easy to learn the app and very client oriented with the ability to switch out like workouts as well as meals to keep you on your goals. One thing I’ve been having issues with is deleting a meal… the app delete option is broken and doesn’t actually delete the meal.

As someone who struggles on how to cook, I would LOVE a video step by step on cooking each meal. That would be so incredibly fantastic and make making these meals easier and less stressful

Almost perfect
This app has everything you need. The programs are top notch; however, when making a switch in exercises in a plan it does not seem to save that input. Then when re-opening the workout to see what you had done or for any other reason it reverts back to the original and then I have to remember what I did in that workout. Please implement something that will make it so when you complete a workout that you have switched an exercise in that it will save that switch and not revert back.

Otherwise very good app.
