Mushroom Wars 2: RTS Strategy Hack 2023.38.3 + Redeem Codes

This game used to be my favorite game I would play it all the time waiting for class or just hanging around the house whatever it may be and it would have gotten 6/5 stars, but now I’ve been playing for I want to say about 2 years now and I’ve watched this game slowly become more of a pay to play game. Now I play against players that have purchased chests or season passes which allow them to collect artifacts that give their character bonuses on the battle field, also giving them more runes (a gem type of currency used to upgrade) which gives players faster movement speeds better attack and defense bonuses and it’s become out of reach to play against these players I have spent about $20 to try to keep myself in the game and collect some of these artifacts to improve my characters but I have only gotten the most common and weakest so when I play someone who’s clearly purchased more items then I have I can only beat them if they don’t use any of there abilities and I feel like it’s become a bit unfair. I used to have a 87% win ratio overall and since this I’ve dropped to around 63% and it continues to become more difficult without even advancing into a new bracket. So if you have extra change then I recommend this game but if u are searching for a fair platform this is not it. Not to mention you are cross played with people who use computers or laptops so if u play on ur phone you are automatically at a disadvantage.

This is definitely a fun game to play and you can tell Zillion Wales put in a lot of time developing it. However, if you play regularly or want to get to the higher leagues, especially diamond or pro, then you will likely have to spend money to compete with the top players who spend a lot of money to upgrade their heroes. For forging artifacts, they will also not let you choose which artifact or hero you are forging the artifact for, but they can give you a artifact you already possess. The really powerful artifacts that all of the good players have also cost around 15,000 gems per artifact (it costs $50 to obtain 12,000 gems, which would not be enough for even one of those artifacts). Furthermore, even if you buy premium, you still have to watch several 30 second ads or use gems to open chests (usually paying for premium on any site or app gets rid of ads). Passive skills is another way they try to get you to spend money, as you can only upgrade passive skills with gold and runes. They say passive skills are permanent skills that every hero uses, so I think they should be determined by how many games you have played and/or won, not by how much gold you can spend. Overall, it is a fun game to play, but you can usually tell which games you are going to lose based on your opponents’ hero and artifacts (which flash up right before the game starts).

I originally gave this game 4 stars, but after playing more I’ve found the AI to be a complete hinderance to just enjoying the game. The computer knows INSTANTLY where your units are going and how many are being sent, this is evident because it will not send a single unit if it knows I haven’t sent enough to take the point. The moment the number of infantry I send exceeds the amount holding a point, it will send reinforcements. It’s infuriating, because this creates multiple loops during gameplay that are completely unenjoyable to manage. I need to send a small fake squad from a point to bait the computer, then once it’s answered with reinforcements, I need to change the focus of attack to another point, the computer will compensate, then I must pivot again, and again, and again. I’ve literally gotten the game stuck in a loop where they wont stop sending every single unit that spawns - only because it knows the numbers are in it’s favor. I clicked and sent every unit for about 2-3min until it had finally widdled down my numbers. It’s possible to have fun playing on expert because all you’re doing is basically memorizing what decisions the computer makes and exploiting that knowledge.

Please fix your game, it’s not fun to play when the deck is so wildly stacked against you. If I can’t see the total number of units the AI has on a point, then it shouldn’t be able to see mine either.

I’ll start by saying that this is a very fun rts game. It’s not perfect, but it kills time, has a fun campaign and pvp matches are cool too when it’s a ‘balanced’ game. Having said that, there are two things that I cannot stand that are going to make me delete the game eventually. 1) the trophies/awards for winning/losing a pvp match is absolute garbage. I really hope a dev can hop on here and explain to me how I win like 8 matches in a row, only winning an accumulative of 12 trophies, but then I lose ONE match and lose 15 trophies? I don’t know what coding you guys are using to balance this, but it takes one step forward, two steps back to a whole new level. If it wasn’t already bad enough, check this one out. I played a pvp match against a random, and I lose 8 trophies and they gain 15. I jump into the next PvP and it’s the same person! What are the chances?! But then I won the second match. I gained ONE trophy and they lost NONE. Devs, how is this possible??????? 2) pay to win, just like everyone else is saying. It kills me when I have to face a PvP with someone that has the special skins and the fully upgraded character. I just love it when they have no strategy and I sent 80 minions against 30 and yet they still manage to defend. This game used to be one of my favorites, but it’s slowly getting tiresome and disheartening to play when I have a 72% win ratio but can’t accumulate any trophies.

Mushroom Wars was one of the most unique and original indie games I had ever played on the PS3. The gameplay in MW2 is still solid, but the pay to win mechanics ruin the experience. I’ve played a lot of mobile games with similar issues, but this game has the most predatory monetization schemes I’ve ever seen. It’s really sad to see such a great game ruined by greed. As much as I still love the gameplay, here’s no way I could recommend this game to anyone in its current state. They go so far as to offer a battle pass with the usual free and premium rewards, but they lock you out of ever being able to reach the later free rewards by putting them on a timer that makes it literally impossible (there’s even a pop-up message in-game that tells you this). And if you thought you could at least have fun playing the campaign while you wait on timers for multiplayer, that’s too bad because they lock that behind a paywall also. I almost never leave reviews for games, but this one has surprised me at every turn with more and more desperate attempts to squeeze money out of you. I’m not at all against paying for good games and I’ve been happily paying full price for them, as well as buying the premium pass for the games I play the most. Obviously, developers need to keep their companies operating, but it’s pathetic how hard they try to force people into spending more and more (especially for titles like this that require much less than full-sized games).

I really enjoyed this game in the past but it has become pay to play. To have an edge you need to upgrade your base troops, to do this you need runes. To get runes you have to level up, to level up you need to upgrade the heroes, to upgrade the heroes you have to earn lots of gold and cards. It takes a long time to save to really upgrade your heroes. The average chest, that takes 3 hours to open, only gives 400 gold. The first time you upgrade a hero ability it’s 3,000 gold which only earns 90 XX to level up. This is crazy. Now the as you continue to upgrade your hero abilities it becomes more and more expensive. The only way to really advance in this game is to watch a crazy amount of adds as well as spend money on gems.
A solution would be to add ways to level up that do not involve spending gold or gems. Maybe actually playing the stinking game should level you up. I am very disappointed to see this game turn to pay to play.

EDIT for latest update: nothing buy pay to play now. You have to upgrade through XP only gained by spending gold and gems. If you don’t upgrade you’re at a serious disadvantage to those that do. With this update you cant even choose the order to get your upgrades to support your play style. You are seriously turning a great game into trash. You need to choose, pay to play or adds not both. I’m about to delete it, no more add views from me.

So close yet so far. If I considered only gameplay when writing reviews, MR2 easily deserves 7/5 stars. In a market full of uninspired mobile games that repeatedly rip each other off, MR2 provides something truly unique. Hands down, I would rate this game in my top 3 mobile games of the year. Every game, there are many opportunities for players to “outskill” their opponents on the strategical level, making gameplay extremely satisfying.

However, this gets me to my second point, it is beyond Pay-to-Win. BEYOND. Ok fair, lock the campaign behind a paywall. Copy supercell’s idea of “leveling up” skills in order to gain an advantage over your opponents before the game. BUT WHERE I DRAW THE LINE, is when you make an energy bar for skills (this means that if you use enough skills in a match against an opponent, you will literally not be able to use skills in the next match against a totally different opponent). Skills are a HUUUUUUGE part of the game, without them it is impossible to win against any half-decent player. So WHY? WHY? Why, are these skills hidden behind an energy bar? Why is it that every match I have to handicap myself before deciding if my opponent is “good enough“ that I must use skills to win? At some point, I can’t even play the game like it should be played.

About one year ago I praised this game for its unique mechanics, supportive community, and ability for the player to improve. In one year, Zillion Whales has overcomercialized this game by adding the rune, ticket, and item systems that all rely heavily on in-app purchases to get ahead of your opponents. Instead of a being game dedicated to its player base, Zillion Whales has ignored our many voices and taken the game away from what it once was. Many of the top players have struggled with this change from skill to money as many of them have quit or turned to casual play. As the company focuses more and more on money, less time is spent to maintain the social aspect, which is often the last tether for someone about to quit, and the game’s fundamentals have been drastically changed by various upgrades and runes. If Zillion Whales is to keep falling to greed, then they will lose the most unique aspect of the game: the wildly dedicated players who grind out not only to improve their skills, but also to support the mushroom wars community and the various events. In one year I have seen so many people leave and struggle with Zillion Whales (as is my experience). At this rate, mushroom wars is becoming an example of an institution falling to its own selfishness and rejecting the humanity of its clients. We cannot wait another year. If this has been your experience, please leave a review and close up your wallet. That is the only way Zillion Whales will listen.

I understand to a point that you want people to pay for the campaign but on the other hand do you know how many people you drive away with that? I thoroughly enjoyed this game up until I saw you wanted me to pay for “episodes”. I know developing the game isn’t cheap or free. I understand completely that you need some way of pulling in extra money to pay for labor to push out bigger and better updates but from what I’ve experienced and read this game is the biggest pay to win I’ve seen in awhile. You get a bunch of downloads on a daily and then your customers or fans have to pay to play the rest of the game and I didn’t see anywhere in the description stating any of this and not to mention you have to pay for tickets and runes and better Troops? If you are going to make a game that feeds off of the consumers pocket at least make the game free so that you can keep your “fan base” and let people enjoy a single player game that’s actually a lot of fun. Overall mushroom wars 2 is a fun game up to having to pay to finish the campaign. Anything after that isn’t worth it, id rather spend my time finding a game that lets me play through the campaign for free than have to pull out my wallet to get some enjoyment. Granted I know you won’t reply to this because why would you and if you do I won’t be emailing you because I’m uninstalling this sad excuse for a money grab.

I used to love this game. Probably one of my favorites ever and definitely the best multiplayer strategy game on mobile I’ve played. That being said, it costs way too much to stay competitive due to the ability charges and rune system. Ability charges alone, if I don’t pay for it and face an opponent with unlimited charges, they will win more often. Same with if they have better equipment. I would literally pay $60 for this game to be able to play it forever, or even for a year - if the playing field was fair for everyone. It is a huge shame that a game with such great strategy and mechanics has become pay to win. Many have posted on Reddit and discord but the moderators/devs just get defensive. Sure you might make more money from casual players, but hardcore rts or strategy players aren’t going to play a game without a level playing field. So why not have both??? Why not have a version of ranked, like a pro league where you can pay a one time fee and play on a competitively fairly? I’ve proposed that before and was told that that is what mushroom wars arena is for. But Arena doesn’t have a long term leaderboard to climb, it’s not the same. I really hope the devs consider implementing something for competitive players who want a level playing field. I sure would pay to access that.
