The Music Drawing Notation by Virtual Sheet Music has been specifically designed to write music by putting notes on a music staff, the easiest way. Any musician will be easily able to put down melodies "on the go" ad share it via email as MIDI or Mp3 files.
You can write music by simply using your finger to put notes on the music staff, move notes around, change the notes' pitches by just moving them up and down, and modify their duration by selecting the corresponding value button. Rests may also be added, as well as sharps and flats. You can also write note chords by adding notes one over another. At any time, you can play, pause, and save the music you created into an archives section of the application, which allows you to retrieve previously saved songs. At any time, you can send or export your created music as a MIDI or Mp3 file via email.

Awful! 🔇
No sound came out when I tried to play the song I had written! I had my volume all the way up but nothing came out. I dislike that there aren't more advanced options. I saw this app and decided to try it out(because of the occasional good review) but I don't like it.
It would be good for beginner song writers but not for people who want a good quality, advanced app. (If they can find out how to get the volume fixed...)

Very poor.
I'm certain many people who try this app will agree with me when I say that I'd rather carry around a notebook and and hand-draw staves than try to notate with this app. It's just unbelievable tedious to add notes, and it's nearly impossible to get them in the right place. Overall, it's not worth using. At least not yet.
For people who want to tough it out but don't want to upgrade in order to be able to save files: I'm assuming taking screen shots (home button + power button at the same time) of your project will help somewhat. At least you won't completely lose your idea this way.

Great app - must try!
This app is working great for me. It i clear that in order to save your songs you have to buy an optional add-on, but you can definitively save songs. I love the ability to put down my music ideas on the go and send them over to my email as Mp3 files. Looking forward in having even more features!

I like it but it force us to buy in-app features why don't you give an update with all the $@?¥€€ Features (and i gonna give you 5 stars to do it ok)and i hope others beacuse we want it tommorow ok if you don't in FEB/10/12(beacuse is the primire of Star Wars) beacuse Fegelin won't stop me do it.:)

Great if you dont have hands
The software works... In Theory. You can place notes in the staff, sleet how long they should be, a tempo, and all that jazz. The problem is that you have to press and hold with your finger where you want the note. How on earth am I supposed to know what note is being placed with my finger in the way? If they'd add a keyboard or some way for me to see what note I'm placing, it'd be perfect for basic music notation.

Program use and support non-existent
I really wanted to use this program, but it doesn't work for more than a note or two. I could put on one note and then I couldn't add any more. There is no provision I could find instructions. A questionnaire later popped up to see if I had questions. I asked if there were explanations on how to work the program but they never responded.

This application is not free. I'd rather to buy it at $3.99 with ability to export the score to .PDF as well as .MID than having this free but just to kill my time. It would be five stars if this application is not free and give me facility to export the music notation to PDF and MID. Please do it to make this application great! There are still no competitors who build this kind of app up to now per April 2012. Get the opportunity! I will pay, I promise!

Needs a little work!!!
I like the idea of writing my music on a music sheet however it would be nice to email when I am done to print it out. One downside - the app is s little sensitive. When I try to go from page to page, the app thinks I want to add

It is a good app overall, but the only two things I can think of that would make it better would be to allow for writing sheet music for more types of instruments than piano, and to make it so that you can add a slur whenever you want.

I don't think it was that good. For simple music yes but the free version doesn't give you too many options. It would be nice to change key signature, do chords, and go to higher notes on the staff. Overall the simplicity of it bothered me since I was trying to write a version if Criminal for the piano. This app didn't help too much.
