Description

Mutility is a simple, refined, and customizable MTG life counter for 1 to 4 players. Designed to be used on the gaming surface with large, beautiful life totals and tap targets, Mutility makes keeping track of life totals simple so you can focus on the game. An editable history of the current game, secondary counters, visual customizations, and more advanced options are available through a single in-app purchase.

To decrease life, tap the left side of a player’s life total; to increase, tap the right. Tap and hold to continuously increase or decrease life.

A one-time in-app purchase unlocks all features of the app:

• History: All life transactions in the current game, and at what time they occurred. Use it to settle disputes and delete mistakes.
• Secondary counters: Add an additional counter for poison, energy, wins, or Commander.
• Customization settings: Colors, player names, screen layout, starting life totals, and more.
• Settings for fussy folks: Change the long press life increment, enable two-finger-tap for lifelink or extort, automatically clear the game timer when the game is reset, and allow dice roll ties.

Ushdui,
Efficient App for MTG Players
I've been using this app for about a year, and I believe that it is the best life counter app available on this platform. This app works for two, three, and four players, and the dice roller is a quick way to determine who goes first.

The in-app purchase isn't necessary, but it does add many features for customization. Particularly, the sub-counter option is great for counting infect counters or commander damage if you are playing EDH. Unfortunately, it looks like only one sub-counter can be used at a time (so you can't track commander damage from multiple players, for instance). Custom counter coloring and name settings make it very clear whose life is whose. It is very easy to make contact with the app creator.

If I had suggestions for improvement, they would be mostly for offering 5+ player support and simultaneous sub-counters. Maybe some more freedom with color selection too (like custom colors from a color wheel/hue instead of from a pre-selected list).
GoldenFlyerTCG,
Best life counter
My friends all have different life counters, but this one is the best of the lot. Some have even switched from theirs to this one.
The colors are easiest to read here, dice rolling is an amazing feature, the secondary counters are great.

The only thing I can realistically think of to improve would be having multiple alt trackers for each player. Even just one more (total of two mini trackers per player) would be awesome.

Must-Have App for any MTG player
This app has it all: track your life, manage counters (energy, poison, etc.), and see your game history. It will allow you to spend less time tracking, and more time strategizing. It's perfect for 1v1 as well as Commander.

The developer is also very friendly and responsive. They were quick to fix a bug I had discovered upon emailing.

Get this app and you won't be disappointed.
thezisko,
Changed my life
This app literally changed my life. I can now count my life so much better than before. It’s the difference between having to hunt for all of your food and enjoying a grocery store. The developer is amazing and there’s literally no bugs at all. The only thing I’d want is airplay support and possibly AR features, so you can see life in real life, possible tap on camera view to take life? Amazing well made
Kevinbob,
Best life tracker I’ve used so far
I’ve used this app since 2017. I think I paid for the premium version sometime in 2018 or 2019. I don’t regret paying for the premium version at all. I love how I can change the colors for each player and assign names.

I’ve spent more money on Magic boosters containing crappy cards than this app. And this sees more use. It was worth the money.
zacharycalderon,
Design is top notch!
I use Mutility as a point tracker mainly for Star realms the card game. The design is top notch!Works with up to four players. I also use it to keep track of my personal victory points during bigger point salad eurogames.
Very customizable! You can even change the layout and the color of each counter. It’s got Large buttons and you can set timers and roll dice. Very handy!
GrOcErY_GiiRL_69_xoxo,
Amazing app! Many uses!
I use this app all the time! Not only is it great for counting just about anything (I like to use it for remembering how many bananas I got at the grocery store) but it's also amazing for checking our different colors that your phone can display (I like clicking grey!) definitely worth the $2.99 upgrade fee ;)
Senpaiismydad,
He’s life counter I’ve come across.
Hands down the best life counter I’ve used. The amount of customization is always great to have. My one ask (not complaint) of the devs is to incorporate a way to keep track of commander damage from more than one player.
obug09,
It’s great for playing magic and keeping track of life
I love you because you could keep track of your life while you’re playing magic The gathering. and just for $2.99 you can get different colors for the background and a lot of other nice stuff. and the application is free
Strymonesm,
My favorite life tracker
Super useful. Worth the small cost for the full version. System is intuitive and easy to read at a distance. And keeping track of life changes in a log is also great for when there’s a dispute in life totals.
