Next Anime Episode (NAE) is the best anime episode countdown app for iOS.
Next Anime Episode does one job: To help you keep track of airing anime and when they will have a new episode available in Japan.
Generally, sub based simulcast streaming services have the newest episodes available within one hour after they air in Japan.
Simply browse the currently airing chart, select which anime you are interested in, and you will receive a notification when a new episode for your selected series is available. It's that easy! You can also monitors what will be airing next, as Next Anime Episode will show you your anime series sorted by the closest episode first.

i’d actually rate this three stars, but i’m giving five because the developer seems really dedicated and i think they have done an excellent job as the sole creator of this project. interface is beautiful, the promotion at the beginning was a bit aggressive. a lot of people have already suggested fixing the winter/spring/summer/fall thing (combining it all into one list). i would also suggest displaying what season and what year an anime is from in the “notifications tab” so that users (especially first time users) know what season they’re subscribed to for updates. i haven’t used this app long enough to test the notification feature, but i’ll keep it downloaded because i know the developer is working hard. keep up the good work!

Ready for the Next Episode?
It’s pretty reliable when you need it for any upcoming Anime I found myself really enjoying using this app for quite a lot of anime even so to catch up and be first on what anime to watch sure its selection it’s huge even so the notification doesn’t always seem to appear at times or notifies me on time or even shows and even so it appears that on certain streaming service such as FUNimation or Crunchyroll for examples don’t get the show right after it airs as it says on the app? or maybe that just time rather than when it’s available for streaming anyway the app has some sort of glitch or bug that always kicks you out when you check the Chart or want to update your anime selection that it just stops working kinda getting bothered by it even so I kinda had to pay just to add more anime to get notifications from since I’m kinda getting enjoying many upcoming shows hopefully the problem can be fixed, I’m assuming using or clicking the Chart button on the app maybe there quite the bug on the Charts that affects the app from seeing more upcoming anime or even being able to use this app kinda stressed out not being able to see my shows on this app been really enjoying it so far.

Needs work
Really happy to finally find an app like this, but I wish that we could look at more than just the name of an anime. Like we should be able to click the name and open info on it. Also, having to add anime individually by season, special, movie, etc... while having to search individually between fall, winter, spring, and summer for each individual year to add each part of an anime series is slightly frustrating. It’d be cool to add any series to our list and have it add everything for that series, or at least be able to search it and have it pull up everything relating to it regardless of air date. One more thing, it’d be super cool to add shows that aren’t yet confirmed for the next season and be notified when it does.

I paid for the premium and now I can’t even get to the settings tab without the app crashing, but yet the ads still play. Cut this scam and remove the ads to use the app until you make it useable enough for me to redeem my prior purchases. Absolutely ridiculous. If you fix it I’ll change the review to a better rating, but as of right now this is 1 star.
Edit: The app no longer force quits every time. However, I purchased premium previously and restoring it in settings does not actually restore the features that came with premium. Can a developer help me out with this?

I was searching online looking for an app just like this. I saw your post on MAL asking for beta testers. Nobody responded and that was awhile ago so I was sad thinking you never went through with the app :( Then I decided to scroll through the App Store and I found your app!!! I’m so happy right now! I can wait to use this!

Went from hero to zero
I was very happy with the app before the last release. It was missing some items, but delivered what was promised. However ever since the app was updated to bug us for a premium purchase it became less than useless. It brings up the banner to purchase, when selecting to skip the option it loads and shows no items that I had setup to alert me on, and then crashes. Next time you’re going to ask people for money, so try to actually make sure your application has I bugs. Pathetic.

App Crashing on latest version
Love the app, however after the latest update, after watching the ad, the app kept crashing while accessing the settings. i ended up repurchasing the full app again, however it still crashes in settings. It’s disappointing to see the dev has given up on updating this, I really thought this app was going places

Major crash
I can’t even open the app without it crashing after the most recent update. All of my info is gone as well from the icon. I had the number 23 on top of the icon, now it’s blank.

Crashes + Scam payments
I have made multiple purchases and I still get pop-ups and the app crashes when I try to change the anime title language or notification sounds
Also after getting a new notification the number of notifications shown on the app is not accurate to the amount of new episodes that came out, but after going into the app and then closing it, the number updates accurately.

Change search format
You should seriously think about changing how you search for anime. It’s really hard to understand and find the anime u want to track because of the fact you search by year and season(spring,summer,fall,winter). I think you should have a list of anime, like what’s trending or what’s new, and let us search for any anime you want. Please consider this.
