jamesh48,
Don’t try to slur V1 notes to V2 Notes!!!
It’s a good app but I was composing recently and I created a corrupted file by slurring v1 notes to v2 notes, now the app crashes when I try to access that page of my music.

Also, looking forward to a better lyric engine in an update.

Otherwise, very enjoyable, intuitive app.
I.A.Rose,
Excellent! But could be fine tuned in places
This app satisfies most of my compositional needs. It has a great diversity of instrumentation and they sound accurate. There is a great learning curve, and I have emailed the support address with questions but have yet to receive a reply. It’s been about 2 months now. Although the lack of user support is irritating, the user interface is much more friendly than piano plus pro, another app by the same creator, so I have not delved into that app very deeply. I bought the bundle but have yet to need piano plus pro.

One place needing fine tuning:
Time signatures are not easily changed when you have already composed music after the measure you want to change. It changes the whole remainder of the measures. One way around this, i change the measure to one 8th note increase (e.g. 4/4 to 9/8) and then change the measures after back to 4/4. This keeps the measure I adjusted in 9/8 and I can change it to whatever I want after that. Annoying and would rather not have to do that.

Another place needing fine tuning is reaching the upper extremity of the piccolo register. It stops about five notes short when you have the more than two parts in there (it thinks you’re trying to add to the part above it)

Otherwise 9/10 would recommend
georgedonnelly,
Good app
So far, I've used this app to compose a couple, pretty short, simple songs, but it's very useful. I used to use a DAW for everything; but, well, I find Sheet Music to be a lot better, even if the instrument quality is a little low. That's why I have the daw, though. Just dislike that you have to rate it five stars to unlock a couple features. Builds distrust with possible buyers; I was almost not gonna buy it because of what I saw in the reviews. However despite the shady tactics, this app is still great.

As all apps, however, there are a couple issues:
1:
I can't seem to move midi tracks into Notation Pad, and trying to put the notes itself in, manually, is time consuming, as well as confusing, since I'm not exactly practiced enough.
2:
Where are the drums and the cymbals? That's an incredibly important part of music.
3:
A search engine for the discover music category. Would love to find some pieces there, but searching endlessly isn't very interesting.
msl1954,
Not as advertised.
Be very careful purchasing from this developer. This app has limited functionality. I purchased it to write tablature for Guitar. The description led me to believe that it would do this. Not so. In order to write guitar tablature, the app directs me back to the App Store to purchase yet another app from this same developer. When I requested a refund, the App Store turned me down, referring me to the developer’s site for help. The developer’s site has nowhere to contact the developer, request help, request a refund, etc. If you want to waste $20, this seems like a good place to do it. And shame on the App Store for allowing this type of deceptive advertising, then refusing to help resolve the dispute. I can only hope the developer reads this and contacts me to make this right.
bgcdrhllhcfth,
It’s Perfect but...
Personally it could use some more functions, like 8/15va, the petals, gliss, and Actually percussion (like a drumset). How do you import files? (Unless it’s not a function yet) And being able to support more parts (Orchestra). Other than that it would be perfect.
Jimmy's job,
Very Good
I love this app because I love messing around and creating new music easily. The only thing I wish they had was to put a drum machine in there so you can out a beat to your creation
Diana Yunting W.,
I really dislike writing inflated reviews
Three stars is really generous, but I really should have given it two, because of a few factors: it promised to allow imports of existing electronic files of sheet music, but I don't see it at all... Maybe it might be because I might have missed it, or it is reliant on five star reviews- if the latter is the case, it is really dirty.
user28707,
Difficult to understand.
I got this app so that I could create music without actually having to know how to play an instrument. Unfortunately, I cannot hear any music when I press play, so that’s about $20 down the drain. I’m not sure if this is due to a bug, but if not this is a very expensive app just to create sheet music without any music. Not to mention, I don’t see anything about exporting your music. So that’s also a bummer.
sontersmctingle,
Blackmail and direct links to the developer's other apps.
Sprinkled throughout the UI are links to the developer's other apps, which seems a bit cheeky considering this app is $20. Want to change the background color? You can, but only if you rate this $20 app as five stars. This seems extremely shady on the part of the developer. Avoid this app and save yourself the $20.
SuitmanX,
Frustrating
Just trying to write a simple duet for clarinet of just eighth notes and half notes took me 30 minutes to write one phrase. I can write out a full song in that amount of time. Something as simple as notation shouldn’t have such a strong learning curve and require so many adjustments for a simple staccato or slur.
