Reading Adventure primarily focuses on reading books aloud. But in seeking out the elusive dream creatures, the player will find themselves face-to-face with fun phonics, sight word and comprehension challenges that use the Osmo Crystal Wand! These games adjust their difficulty to correspond to the current reading level of a child and the specific books they are using.

We've made some performance improvements for older devices with this version! So if you've been experiencing sluggish performance on your iPad, give this one a try!
We also went ahead and adjusted Parental Settings to remain auto-unlocked for a full day. This allows open access to reading settings and section skipping without requiring a parent to be around for every use. We Love Osmo
Everything we have purchased has been such a great learning tool! My kids love it! We did have an issue with scanning the books in the beginning. We were scanning the back of the book bc the instructions made it seem like you had to - you only have to scan the front.

Cannot Add books
Pretty bummed because we have not been able to add books since the initial set. There are no troubleshooting steps on the website for the Reading Adventure and trying to find any level of direct support runs me up against a wall, and being forced to submit a generic form. I have yet to hear back for assistance while our pile of books continues to grow to 12, with 8 of them not yet loaded.

Voice recognition is useless
Voice recognition system needs to be changed. My kid kicks a chair or a table and the app recognizes it as words. So useless and disappointing

Volume too low and voice detection is inconsistent
Overall the app functions as intended but several issues remain after the latest update. The volume is too low when using an iPad 6th generation with latest iOS 15.7. At max volume the sound is barely audible. Even with an external Bluetooth speaker, the sound is still low with noticeable degradation in sound quality making it hard to distinguish sounds the child is suppose to repeat. We finally resorted to buying a headset with built in boom mic for our child to accurately hear sounds and for the software to accurately detect what our child is saying.

Needs Improvements
We are avid Osmo users. So we are very excited to add to our OSMO library. I understand the app and game are very new. Kinks are normal. The app is currently crashing, and we can’t get past the intro. We also can not adjust the volume at all despite our device volume being turned all the way up.
I have confidence OSMO will correct the app issues so we can play this game. At that time I will adjust our review.

Crashes
We were so excited to finally receive this product in the mail. We waited a long time! The program opens but then crashes quickly when the characters ask our favorite animal. We love all our other Osmo tools so I am hoping this is a bug that gets fixed quickly.
