Description

When it comes to helping your child learn to read we know it can be difficult to find the right starting point. That’s why we have created a fun reading level finder app that helps you find the best point for your child to begin Osmo's reading curriculum while introducing them to the lovable characters of Reading Adventure!

Fill out a few questions, then watch your child read aloud to loveable companion, Oliver! After listening to your child's reading, our app will assess your child's reading strengths as well as those things they can work on, making a recommendation as to the best place for them to start in Osmo’s Reading Adventure learn-to-read program.

FEATURES

-Analyzes your child’s reading, using speech recognition on-device that will assess your child's reading privately and effectively.

-A playable gameplay excerpt of the real Reading Adventure experience that introduces your child to the mysterious and playful world of Mot!

-Developed with educators, our starting recommendations are designed to ensure the best learn to read experience for your child.

NOTE: As this app is looking to hear exactly how your child reads right now in making its assessment, it will NOT make any corrections during play. Corrections and support can be found in the full Reading Adventure product once your child gets started in the program!

Chsmamaof2,
Want to love
PRO OSMO. Concept awesome, kids have loved OSMO since it was a start up. This app just needs improving. Freezes, doesn’t hear her yelling the words and wand is touchy. I’ve already paid for 6 months of books so gonna make it work. I hope they update and fix the glitches.

Our Favorite Game
My 3 year old is pretty particular about her learning games. She won’t play iPad for iPads sake — the content has to be high quality or she’ll get bored quick. She also gets frustrated with buggy or difficult apps quickly, and usually wants to play learning games while I sit beside her to solve issues quickly.

We’ve been playing Osmo Reading Adventure app for about 3 weeks, and it’s our new favorite game. After playing it with me for a week or so, she now will play it completely on her own, because it so rarely gives her trouble (e.g., crashing, confusing instructions). It’s so awesome to hear her from the kitchen reading stories by herself, and sounding out words she doesn’t know. This game has really accelerated her interest in reading independently!

We’ve already played through the storyline to where it ends now (though it’s clearly not the end of the story), and she still will ask to “catch some dreams” after dinner. I hope we get to see more of Oliver and Nebula’s adventures soon!
Sblueyez,
Great idea
Thanks for making this app to help decide which level of books to order. First, the app helping my child understand how loud to speak was really great because he tends to get very quiet when he is unsure. It was a phenomal way to start out and I’m very excited for the regular program now. I really like that the app just listened to my child and was able to report which parts of reading were still a challenge for him. I heard him struggle with certain words and when the app picked out those words (digraphs) I felt very confident that it was judging correctly that he needs to start there. Can’t wait for the preorder to arrive!
landays,
Voice recognition needs improvements
Voice recognition seriously lacking. Being the main feature of the app voice recognition takes around noise as my child attempts to say words/sounds. It’s very annoying and frustrating for kids learning and adults supervising.
