Mraykova,
Effective although Sluggish
I've been using this app for over two years after reading the book TCOYF. I'm very happy using the FAM method, and this app does what it needs to do. My main complaint with the app is that it tends to be slow...slow to log me in, slow to enter new data, and slow to pull up my chart. As soon as I save a new data point (BBT for example) the app shuts me out for a few seconds while it shows the dreaded "updating cycle information" progress bar and I can't enter additional info during that time. I wish that it would wait to do this until the app has been inactive for, say, five seconds so as not to interrupt me. It's especially problematic when I'm entering my BBT in the morning (before I'm fully awake), because I tend to fall asleep again while I wait to be logged in! To get around the sluggishness, I was hoping to create a shortcut using Workflow or Launch Center, but sadly ovagraph isn't compatible with these apps. It would also be nice if it could integrate with iOS's Health app. Overall I give four stars because I'm grateful for the app being free and without ads, and I do recommend it. These are just my suggestions for the developers to further improve. I know there are many similar apps out there, but I'd rather not switch away from ovagraph after having used it for so long. Thank you and please keep updating! :)
St. A's Student,
Needs to Sync with Apple Health
I loved the book TCOYF, and I love fertility tracking. That part is great - 5 stars. However this app needs a little polishing. I have been using Kindara for years and have their wireless syncing thermometer (Wink). The Wink syncs with Kindara and Kindara syncs with Apple Health. If OvaGraph could read and write to Apple Health, that would save me from having to duplicately enter all of my information in both Kindara and OvaGraph. I have the OvaCue Mobile, so I need to keep my data in two different apps since they can’t get along with each other. Whichever app is able to bridge the gap first (also syncing cervical signs) will be the one I stick with. Having 3 sensors (Wink thermometer, OvaCue oral sensor, and OvaCue vaginal sensor) and 2 apps is a lot to manage every day.

Also, the view my chart feature is super slow and glitchy on my phone. The bars move around and don’t line up sometimes, especially when first loading or when scrolling around.

Way Too Slow and No Security Website
I’ve been using this app for a few months per my acupuncturist and if this wasn’t her preference, I would dump this app yesterday! It’s annoying. It’s slow. It’s most used/common functions are all in separate places taking multiple clicks to access (i.e. the charts which show a summary of your BBTs—and is what you want to see most of the time—takes 3-4 clicks to get to from the landing page and takes long to load or won’t load at all many times). The main page has to “log in your credentials” first in order for you be able to access your chart summaries and that can take 10-30 seconds; I know that it’s a matter of seconds, but if this app didn’t have to connect all the time, meaning the most used functions are just stored locally, it would be a matter of a few seconds. NOW, the app unraveled my stores login, and when I try to login, it takes me to their webpage that is UNSAFE! They let their security certificate expire meaning their information—their USERS information—is now unsecured! This app hold highly sensitive HIPPA-like info! Are you kidding me?! How do you let that expire?! I am talking to my acupuncturists today to have her look into another preferred app for her patients. This is unacceptable!

Quality customer service
I was using this app for a month and everything was great. Then with the next cycle the app started to slow down. It stoped synchronizing my current data with the chart and the app became so slow in general, it was too painful to use. I contacted their customer service and got a replay the next day. They asked me to check if I have good internet connection and did I scroll down the page to make sure the page was completely visible. I’ve been doing it all along, so I knew it was not the problem. I responded to them with more details and my assumptions on this issue. The following day I could see that something was adjusted within my account and the app had to get rid of some data duplicates through updating itself. Once that was done, Voila! The app went back to normal fast working program, showing my chart with all the information.
Thank you for the excellent customer service! I’ll keep using this app and enjoy it’s convince.

Designed for TTC - not Avoiding Pregnancy
I like a lot of things about this app - it allows me to put in lots of info. It’s sometimes slow, but hasn’t been as much of a problem since I switched to an iPhone. I really REALLY wish it wasn’t JUST designed for people trying to get pregnant. I’ve been using FAM w barriers for 3 years avoiding pregnancy and now TTC. It frustrated me that the app had a place for birth control under medication, but the whole point of FAM is not using hormonal medication for birth control. The app would be much better if they 1)have options for birth control barriers used on potentially furtive days (condom, diaphragm, etc.) and 2) wasn’t so pushy about asking me if I wanted to take a pregnancy test 7 days after ovulation or telling me I should take Supplements since I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.
Srn67,
Ok
I have been using this app alongside working with a fertility doctor to get pregnant. I appreciate that it allows me to feel a bit more in control and knowledgeable about my body.

However, I find the app much more confusing to use than necessary. Inputting data is fine, but figuring out how to do anything else is a hassle. There’s a laundry list of FAQs in the app, but it’s the FAQs for the mobile app and regular website - which is more confusing than helpful. It would be helpful if there was an actual page that explains everything, so when you start using the app you know how to customize things, figure out the language you all are using (abbreviations, etc), how different components of the app and charting are referred to, and take advantage of all parts of the app - which I’m sure I haven’t because it’s impossible to know how to do or where to find anything.

Also, I’ve been wondering this for months - what do the numbers in the BBT circles on the chart mean??? I can’t find the answer anywhere.
Megantron88,
Great charting app
I got this app after reading the TCOYF book and love that the app can serve many purposes, depending on why you chart. It’s easy to use, easily personalized, and the graph can be viewed at any time to get an ‘at-a-glance’ look at trends and timing. It’s flexibility and adaptability are much better than the other app I was using, which didn’t adjust or account for things that may influence the timing of ovulation or your period. I can add notes to each day and keep track of when my temperatures change. It keeps my information so I can look back or show my OBGYN. I’m so grateful for this app and how much it has helped, along with the book, to educate me about my body, fertility, and what to expect! The support staff is also super helpful if you need help editing or customizing your settings; they responded within 12 hours! Great app, highly recommend!
Extreme Satisfaction,
TCOYF necessary companion
I've been using FAM since 2011. I charted with paper, then purchased the program for my computer. After my second child I stopped charting regularly and realized that my computer upgrade made my old program useless. I'm happy there's an app now that's so dang convenient.

If you're looking for a simple app to dive right into charting, this one may not be for you. This is specifically a companion to the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book. If you haven't read that book then charting with any app isn't going to help you much. Read the book; gain knowledge and insight. It's only going to make your life better. Then you won't need an app to tell you when you're going to ovulate. You'll know before it does. But, the app is great for keeping all the info handy. And, way better than having a bunch of paper everywhere.
NiKuRa33,
Needs some design + functionality improvements
I’m just getting started using this app. I really want to love it. It gets the job done, and I appreciate being able to see my chart digitally instead of on paper. The app is in need of some love on the functionality and design sides. I wish there were less clicks to enter/edit data from day to day and an auto save. It’s slow to respond and to save data. The manual save is frustrating and there is no prompt to remind you to save, so there have already been a handful of days where I took my temp in the morning, thought I recorded it, but came back to find no data saved. Since my thermometer only saves the last temp taken, it’s definitely frustrating. I still use Clue for my period tracking and wish one or the other would do all the things (but with Clue’s interface). Either way, i appreciate the tool and will I’ll continue to use, especially while reading the book!
kcheney6,
I Love This App!!
I am usually not one to leave a review, but I feel that this app has helped me understand my body, my cycle, my overall health, and my fertility. OvaGraph allows me to follow the Fertility Awareness Method correctly. I can track all three of my body’s bio markers: cervical position, cervical fluid, and basal body temperature. I used the app Clue at first and found that it was predicting my ovulation at the same time every month, which is inaccurate. Based on what I have learned about my body, the timing that I ovulate is not the same every month; therefore OvaGraph is such a blessing because it allows me to chart my body’s biomarkers and thus, predict, on my own, the timing of ovulation for a particular cycle. I also love how I can go back and look at past cycles to see how they compare to my current cycle. Thank you to those who created OvaGraph!
