RCGViolet,
Absolutely Fabulous App
So I have grown to dislike social media over the years. It causes my anxiety to go crazy and you can find so much negativity everywhere you look. But this app has been one of the most positive communities I’ve ever seen. Everyone has been incredibly kind, and I’ve learned about so many new books to add to my tbr! It also helps encourage reading through reading challenges, where you can join groups and discuss your books and what you might be struggling with. There are other cool things like interviews with popular authors/authors of the books that Owlcrate sends out in their boxes. You don’t have to be an owlcrate subscriber to participate in the app, but honestly I don’t know how you could resist once you see the images of the items and books from the boxes each month. If you’re looking for a safe space to find fellow book worms and discuss books, or if you’re even just thinking about trying to read more, I highly recommend this app!

Amazing and inclusive
After years of following tons of Facebook and instagrams just to get book recommendations I am in love. This unbelievable app brings it all together in one place without having to sift through ads and random additions to your stream. The groups allow you to choose the genres and activities that appeal to you and the community of people is so outstanding. It’s only been a month but I have already made new book connections and the upcoming author chats have me doing a happy dance.
Best news? It’s all free!!! Chats, books discussions, challenges, data tracking, author chats and SO MUCH MORE! Updates are continuously happening and I love that if I think wow this option would be incredible if it could be tweaked to include…wishes do come true.

Great for those looking for more Bookish Community
As much as I’d love to have time to participate in a book club or group of fellow readers, I just don’t have the time or the network to work such a thing. I joined Owlcrate Nest expecting to get inside scoops and discounts for their box. What I didn’t expect was to find a place where book lovers (and likers) get together to talk books, tv adaptions, book news and all bookish things. It’s really a bookish network and community in an app and I’m here for it!

Great potential
This bookish social network has a clean, eye catching visual interface that’s really pleasant to scroll through. It’s a small, generally supportive community, but fairly homogenous in book tastes. There’s a LOT of Fantasy and YA discussed. The most active participants all seem pretty demographically similar. It can feel a bit like an echo chamber as everyone appears to be reading the same books.

For app improvements, I would love to have members be able to make their own groups or lists, like on Goodreads. And to make the app functional, I need to be able to choose what types of notifications I receive, instead of getting a notification every time someone posts in any group I’m in (some of which are mandatory). Right now responses to my posts are buried in my notifications and I miss them.

Love this Community
I joined this app in the very early days, and I don’t regret it one bit. The community is so overwhelmingly positive and helpful, from providing amazing book rec’s to helping with finding info, as well as the ongoing book club and challenges out on by the admins and moderators. While OwlCrate is primarily focused on YA and Fantasy books, there are groups for every type of reader and you’ll be sure to find something you enjoy!

Amazing Bookish Community!
I’m so happy a space like The Nest has been created. It’s a space where you can feel like you are on Bookstagram or BookTok but it’s only people who are there for the same reason as you—to share a love of books! There is space to discuss topics outside of books (ie TV, journals, cozy crafting) but the primary focus is books. It’s an incredibly positive community where everyone seeks to support you and your reading life!

Creating an Amazing Community
I’ve been really impressed with the Owlcrate app. Not only is this amazing bookish community so opening and welcoming, but it is also ran extremely well. There are many events and read a longs of different genres, along with chats with authors (both Owlcrate authors and not), members of the team, and creators! I can clearly see that this can only get better in the coming months and beyond. 💜

I LOVE the nest
This is the perfect app for book lovers. It’s not focused on numbers or aesthetics, it’s just an inclusive place for people to get together and talk about books and reading and similar hobbies. There are reading challenges, too, like the Words & Whimsy challenge that chooses a new theme each month and it’s just a super fun time. I highly recommend to any and all readers out there looking for community!!

Books Glorious Books
Love all things books but don’t have anywhere to yell off the rooftops about them? Join us on The Nest app! There’s thousands of users and more joining everyday. I love this app because it keeps us OwlCrate lovers in-the-know but also on your toes to keep reading and converse with each other. Give it a try! I promise you won’t regret it.

New favorite place on the internet
I love when I find a community of folks who enjoy reading as much as I do. Even better when it can be found off of major social media platforms like Meta. With the possibility of a TikTok ban and with that the loss of BookTok, the existence of this brilliant app and inclusive space would make that loss sting a little less for me.
