Amazing
I’ve done my research and subscribed to a fair share of online / in person workout training plans. Many of them are targeted towards beginners or basic gym workouts, but this caters to all. Personally I am more interested in heavy lifting and wanting to bulk rather than lose weight. Along with this, it also gives beginner and intermediate guides with thorough descriptions of each movement and recommend sets and reps. Tracking your progress has also never been easier than with this app, making past notes for workouts easily accessible. The meal plans are very realistic and give you so many different options no matter what type of diet you follow and makes it less intimidating than most meal plans.
Only thing I wish would be included is maybe a talk through video description of the exercise showing the technique, posture, hand grip, how to adjust a machine and to what height (etc..) with different angles. The current videos are sufficient enough but for beginners and even more advanced people, a little in depth demonstration can be helpful sometimes.
Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about this app & the creator ♥️

Ownu app has been a saver for me!
I am an ownu app subscriber and always been inspired by Hanna Öberg. Before I started using this app, I would only workout in group training settings, I really wanted to train by my self at the gym, but didn't have the confidence and was quite frankly clueless about what to do. I downloaded for the free trial to see what it was about , and was so excited to see so many workout choices for different levels, different focus, and many guides to choose from. All workouts have videos and tips on form and execution. There's also dumbbell workouts, no equipment home workouts and high intensity. Both trainers featured Hannah and Johanna are amazing at showing the right form. I can honestly say not only that I love the workouts but that I have learned so much and improved overall in form, execution, and strength. Other awesome features include workouts tracking and a recipe library, (there’s also a facebook community support group which is awesome) fully recommend it as it’s a great tool to different levels not only beginner and so glad I subscribed to it! Ownu app has been a saver for me and instrumental to my progress

Best Comprehensive Lifting/Macros App!
I got into lifting a few years ago to supplement my endurance training and have never been able to find a resistance training app that compares to the running/endurance sport apps on the market. I had been using a combination of the MapMyFitness family of apps, but none of those were geared toward lifting. I was literally using the Notes app in my phone to track weight/reps/sets every session — it was super difficult to review my progress that way. On top of that, I had taken some time off from the gym due to illness and housing insecurity and had trouble getting back into a regular routine. This app has been a total life saver. Not only are there a whole range of detailed guides to choose from (organized by fitness level and type! 😍) but I can finally finally track my weights and reps IN AN APP and watch my progress over time. AND there is an awesome nutrition section with great recipes, shopping lists, and a way to track macros. I mean, WHAT. Oh, and did I mention the amazingly kind and responsive app development and customer service teams?? Hanna and her team truly thought of everything.

Best. Fitness. App. Ever!
Ladies, let’s talk fitness. This app has everything you need to start or maintain your fitness regime. Hanna is a Swedish athlete with an extensive knowledge of the body and muscles. Learn from her! She has everything from weight lifting to cardio focused to HIIT workouts. The girl does it all! And she’s the best hype woman to have in your corner. The app also comes with a nutrition guide with delicious recipes to get you on track. I love the user friendly interface. Each workout has a timer to help you know when to move onto the next exercise and a detailed explanation on how to do the exercise PROPERLY and to reduce your chances of injuring yourself. Each exercise also has a video attached to SHOW you (for the visual learners like myself) how to perform the exercise correctly. She also gives you great alternatives if you don’t have a specific price of equipment. The app also has guides tailored to at home workouts and workouts while your pregnant. Come on, the girl does it all! At the time of this writing the app offers a 7 day free trial. So what do you have to lose? Get it now!

Best App I’ve used
I have been using workout apps for years, ranging from sweat, fit by Katy and Alive by Whitney Simmons. I think those apps are good and they definitely are right for different audiences. However, I’ve been using OWNU for 3 months and have completed two programs. This is my favorite app because of a few things.

1. (In my opinion) It is geared towards more experienced individuals. The workouts are longer, more sets + higher reps. Most apps gravitate towards beginners, lighter workouts. I would feel somewhat of a challenge but not overly. With OWNU, I feel constantly challenged and typically exhausted by the end of a workout.

2. It encourages progressive overload. I can visually see and feel a difference in my strength because you are doing the same workout over a period of a few weeks as opposed to once or twice in a given program on other apps.

3. The history tracker is top tier. It tracks your history across the app as opposed to in the program itself. I can easily see what I did in previous weeks and not guess. The PR tracker is motivating and I can see how far I’ve come.

My only complaint about the app is the rest / count down timer. It is extremely loud. To the point I have to take off my head phones sometimes. At other times it doesn’t work, especially on supersets. A small issue that I overlook.

Overall if you are more experience and enjoy following an app, I highly recommend this one!

Worth it
This is the first app I’ve ever paid money for. My friend found it and we split the cost to use the workouts. I’m a beginner in the gym and honestly the little tips for form and the videos help so much for me to figure out how I’m supposed to perform the movement. The app is simple and so organized, you can find different workouts catered to what you’re looking for and for your level. It has helped so much, especially for someone who doesn’t know what exercises to do. Being able to track my weights is also nice cause I can see how much stronger I’m getting. :) cost-wise, this app is so worth it. It’s nothing compared to what you’d have to pay for a personal trainer and you still get so much structure for workout goals. I’ve not had any problems at all with the app. So if you are looking to get fit, I’d say this is the app for you! I highly recommend. :)

Detailed and Encouraging!
This is the 3rd workout app/program I’ve tried and I feel like I have learned the most through OwnU. Other workout apps give you basic exercises to do, most often for beginners so I still see results but don’t get a great pump.
This app teaches me where I should feel tension, for how long, and how to hold my body properly so I know that I’m getting the most out of my work out. I am only one week into my first program but I am very happy with how I feel after each work out.

My only struggle is some of the exercises require going back and forth from different machines. I work out in a very busy gym and it can set me back to have to swap machines so often when I have to wait for each one. It would be nice if I could reorder the exercises within my program to make it easier to follow along.

Love it
Been following Hanna on insta for YEARS. When the app came out I had to get it. This app is easy to follow and keeps me on a check list, which I LOVE! It helps keep me on track without over whelming me. I love that I can just click on the program and my next workout is at the top and I don’t have to search for it. I also really love her workouts and the set up she has for them. I’m half way through and have already lost ten pounds. I’m also feeling much better with more energy. It also helps that it shows the percentage of the program you have finished.... which helps keep me motivated. 50% done and cannot wait to see the results when I hit 100%! The food part of the app and amazing recipes and easy to follow directions on keeping up with calories. All and all I’m super excited to be using this app and seeing results. I’ve recommended it to all my workout buddies.

Love this app
I am enjoying the app and the access to all the guides. Everything is laid out and categorized so well. I really enjoy the types and combos of tjeee workouts. Stays true to traditional weight training but unique in combos and approach. I love the timer feature that tracks rest time between exercises!

Some of the functionality could be improved. For example if I go back to a guide I used and restart a workout it doesn’t properly clear it and restart it. Also if you go to look at another guide and open it up I loose the guide I was using for my workouts. It seems like you can have more than one guide open at once. While these are things that I noticed and are opportunities for enhancement it does not affect my overall experience using this app. I love it and am a huge fan of Hanna. She’s such an inspiration and amazing person! Thank

After two weeks
So I made a review after my first use of the app and now that I have used it for 2 weeks I can say that the app needs work.
The times only works if you your phone is open and on the timer. If you move off the timer it will continue to count down but not let you know when the time runs out. Big issue for me. Sometimes I need to answer my phone or text during my test period and I end up running over time because I wasn’t alerted.
Also I still have the same issue as I did with my first review. The part of the app that chooses a program for you based on how you answer the questions still doesn’t work. For example: I put that I was a beginner and that I wanted to work out three days a week I only got programs for advanced five days a week.
I understand this app is small and new but for the price that I pay monthly for it to have these issues it’s grossly over priced.
