We’ve added new words and meanings to the dictionary! From ‘superspreader’ to ‘self-isolate’ and from ‘JOMO’ to ‘Gen Z’, we’re keeping OALD as up to date as possible.
In addition, we’ve created a widget so that you can see the OALD Word of the Day on your home screen (iOS 14 and above). If you have ideas for improvements to the widget, please let us know.

Text selection problem in ios 13.4.1
I’ve been using the 9th edition of this awesome dictionary for years. Then when this new app was released I got thrilled by the new features included in it e.g. CEFR tags. But now after upgrading to ios 13.4.1 things have turned into a nightmare. This is because there is no text selection capability in 10th edition from this update on. Besides, there is a huge bug in text selection and copying in 9th edition from this update on. So, at the moment I can’t use either of them and that’s a pity because I’m completely dependent on them. Please help out!

The bug of search history and suggestions for improvements
There are a few aspects that need to be improved:
1. It seems that the history function doesn’t work very well. Usually it only keeps a few items of the search history, not all of them. 2. Besides, search history also records some unnecessary words that are only partial of the intended words generated while putting in the input box. 3. Words placed under the “favorite”are automatically sorted in the alphabetic order, but I think it’s better to sort them according to the time of search history, or at least such option should be available. Overall it’s a wonderful app, and I will love it even more if you could make the above improvements. Than you!

In general I'm loving this app
In general I'm loving this app. Nice features and contents and all that. But there's several bugs, especially when I'm using this on my ipad as the side app. Sometimes searching doesn't work so I have to close it and open it again. And It kind of annoys me when it pauses my music whenever I start this app. Also history needs fixing. It often includes words I didn't look up.
That said, other satisfying features make up for those. Full text search is amazing and helpful. I would've given five stars if it weren't for a few bugs.

Good dictionary with some tech issues.
I do love the dictionaries and how they organized, this is for sure.
Used it for Mac as well (yeah, it works pretty well on Mac), but to buy a subscription an to make it work needed to buy it on my phone first to be synced with the Mac app (but to be synced, while "restore purchase" doesn't really work, I needed to uninstall and install again.
Message to developers:
1. Make please the option to "go back" when you browse on words links inside the word
2. Fix the ability to click on any word in the desctiption of the word to go to its articls (it works on the mobile app but not on Mac).
3. Make an settings options to be some sections to be opened by default (for instance, "word origin" as for not to click to it each time to unfold.
4. There are plenty of other little issues with user interface, but they are not so critical as disctibed above.

Incompatibe with older version and web subscription
A brand new dictionary version that ditches compatibility with old version and Oxford ID web subscription, forcing us to pay twice for the app. Also, the dictionary app is now subscription-based contrary to previous version when we just need to buy it once. And ironically, the web version is free (with ads but I don’t mind), you only pay for some premium features (iSpeaker, iWriter). Why would you want us to pay for this app just for looking up the words when it clearly lacks premium features?
Not to mention, we cannot change the font size of the definition, only the UI, which is a major backward compared to OALD8/9.

Can you fix iCloud problem?
I can't sync my data from iPad to iPhone so I deleted data in the iCloud. But when I want to re-sync my data, it just reminds me "iCloud syncronization is unavailable. Please check your settings". The app can't create a new iCloud data in my iCloud account. So I can't sync data in any device. Can you fix this problem in next version？I really need this function.

Really disappointed by the fact that no discounts were provided for the purchasers of the 9th version. I paid full price less than a year ago :(
The new app (besides an horrendous icon), looks much better. There’s s big omission in my opinion: I love the introduction of Oxford 3000 and 5000 word list, but...why not include those lists in the app??? It’s common sense! It should be in the favorites and not in a link to a website which is just useless (since I cannot see the meaning of a word in the website). Please correct that and offer at least one year for free to 9th version owners.

I know this is the comment page of oald10 but since oald9 has been deleted from the appstore, I have to write about the issue of oald9 here.
I recently bought iPad pro which has m2 processor and i found that i couldn’t download oald9 data at the oald9 app. the same problem occurred when i tried to download oald9 app on the m2 iMac. oald9 is an ios app, so i can understand that i can’t download on the imac. but it’s ipad. I am heavily dependent on the oald9 app. I hope you could find the problem and fix it soon.

OALD 9 deleted from apps store
I bought the OALD 9th edition for iPhone few years ago for 30$, and today I noticed that the app is simply deleted from the apps store. So I presume you no longer provide any further support or updates for the owners of the mentioned version.
What I don’t understand and makes me feel like I have been fooled is that a new version is available on the apps store , the 10 edition. Which is not free. I don’t really understand why I have to subscribe and pay again for another update. This is what we call a theft.

Bugs!!!
Hey, I’ve been using OALD 9 for over 3 years and recently purchased 1 year plan. Overall, I find it OKAY.... but what annoys me the most is a lot of bugs! I mean, whenever I open the app, it suddenly stops music, podcast or whatever I was listening to! I suppose this app itself is quite unstable and it keeps crashing especially switching from another app to this! Please fix these issues as soon as possible. :(
