✔ Added a pillboxie:// URL scheme so that Pillboxie can be launched from Launch Center Pro (update pending).

✔ Improved the appearance of the dose button in the Schedule screen so it's easier to discover how to set a custom dose.

2.2
2012-04-02
WHAT'S NEW IN 2.2:

✔ ¡Bienvenido! Spanish localization!

✔ Benvenuto! Italian, too!

✔ Custom Med Images: New med type "Use Photo" pretty much does what it says. Snap a photo, or choose one from your library for all those meds that just don't look like any of the cool images that come with Pillboxie by default.

✔ Various bug fixes and performance improvements.

✔ Fixed: Missing 1024x1024 App Store icon.

✔ Fixed: Missing launch images.

==============

NEW SINCE 2.1:

✔ Retina Display Graphics for the new iPad. You won't believe how incredible it looks on that gorgeous display.

✔ Renamed "Snoozing" to "Nagging Reminders." Now the name more closely matches what the feature does. Nagging makes your reminders repeat once a minute every minute until you mark them complete. Snooze a reminder for a few minutes by tapping a "SNOOZE" button in the Due Today list.

✔ Set a custom time interval for the Snooze button. Keep in mind this only applies to the time delay after pressing the SNOOZE button. Nagging reminders will begin repeating every minute again after the snooze interval finishes.

✔ New Med Type: Drops (Eye, Ear, Etc.)

==============

BUG FIXES FROM 2.1

✔ AM/PM not appearing in Due Today items marked complete on iPhone/iPod Touch.

✔ Med icons weirdly resizing in the Due Today list on iPad.

✔ Privacy Mode not persisting between launches.

✔ Bad EULA link in disclaimer. Thanks Jordan!

==============

QUICK HELP

Can't cancel a reminder? A small subset of users have had trouble with their repeating reminders. Some quick fixes: try powering your phone off and then back on, then tap "Reset Reminders".

Reminders not going off at all? iOS 5 has made changes to the way notifications are presented. You now have many options to configure, which is cool, but it ends up changing some people's defaults when they upgrade to iOS 5. Go to the Settings app for your device, then "Notifications." Select Pillboxie from the list, and make the changes you need. Make sure they're turned on!

NEW STUFF

- New med types! Gelcaps and injections.

- Reset Reminders Button: in certain circumstances your reminders may need to be refreshed (if you've been travelling and the time zones are incorrect, or if a reminder you've deleted is still going off). Pillboxie version 1.3 is better about preventing these events, but for when they do occur, there's now a "Reset All Reminders" button in Settings that should do the trick.

- Tap a med in the Medications tab to display it's details.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed a bug that sometimes caused time zones to be incorrect when using Pillboxie while traveling.

StomakMonkee,
Great app!
*Update* I am going back to this app after trying many others. The “snooze” feature brings me back, because no other apps do it properly. I really wish it was formatted for my iPhone XR screen and that sometimes when I mark my pill as “taken” I didn’t have to do it twice. All in all I’m grateful that the developer keeps it in the store “as-is” rather than pulling it altogether.

This app is great for reminding me to take my medication! It is relentless in not allowing me to forget even if I'm busy, which is important since my medication is time sensitive. Also, the time can be extended a little by "snoozing" which is nice if im busy. And for those who don't like this feature, the author added an option to turn off the "snooze" feature, which returns app to previous functionality of leaving you with a notification or badge! Love that I have variability in dosages and times of dose, and that I can mark my "wellness". Thanks do much for this!
Jendayi781,
Great App!
Wish the developer was still updating, but this is *still* a great app after all these years. I love that I can use pictures of my actual medication if I want (instead of just having generic graphic representations). And I love the choice of reminder sounds that are so vastly different from my regular iPad sounds that when I hear it, I know immediately it’s for my medication instead of some other reminder. If anyone ever came back to work on this, I’d love to see an “archive” section where I can save old medicines I don’t take anymore (so if my doctor asks if I’ve ever taken xyz med, I can look in the archive and see or even tell him I took it and had some kind of reaction to it in the past as a reason that I stopped). It would also be cool to have some kind of backup/restore (even if it’s to my own personal storage space) in case I want to buy a new iPad at some point so I can still have all my data history. But anyway, thanks for such a great app!
papafrank,
Good App, seriously in need of an update
Updating as I had switched to another app.
It would be nice if development of this app kept up with iOS updates but it seems as if the developer is happy to let it limp along. What I have said before is still true. Maybe they will be embarrassed into updating the app.
I really like this app and depend on it but it is getting very long in the tooth and needs an update. Doesn’t scroll to current date and time, needs a backup, needs better historical info
iKaff,
Still the Best Medicine reminder out🩵💊
I’ve been using this app for over 7 years. Pillboxie is easy to use to remember my medication. Other medicine reminders are complicated and not as customizable and visibly appealing. That’s one of my favorite features. The photos I use. Also Scheduling a reminder is easy by just dropping a pill into a pillbox. I also love that you don’t have to have Wi-Fi connection to use it. Always reminds me of schedule even when the phone is on sleep mode. Just a great app to have.😃
MellyEV,
Repeat alarm setup needs work
I really need something in between "alarm that goes off once a minute (even though I can snooze)" and "no repeat alarm at all." Since my medication is to treat anxiety there was no middle ground between screaming at the once per minute feature and just flat out forgetting when I turned it off. If you're wondering, "how can that stress someone out so much," I bet you've never needed anxiety medication! Anyway, this app would be totally perfect for me if that was an adjustable feature (like every 10 minutes! 20!). Alarm-alarm-alarm-then-snooze is so irritating for me, and the alternative being no repeating at all renders it totally ineffective for me.
jpwinkle,
Please update, debug
I’m redownloading for a final try to get banner notice to work. Been using app for years on iPhones. The 1st 2 wks with iPhone X was fine but now the reminder box on home page isn’t connecting with app when “take” or other command clicked. Instead I have to go into app to check off taking med. It used to notify me on Apple Watch but that stopped also with statement “have to open app”. I can easily live without the Watch notification, but the phone problem shouldn’t be happening. Also, would you PLEASE unscrunch the header so the words are visible. Please—this is the best med reminder as it’s short n sweet—quick & easy, simple to set up & use (when working right)
Nettiec1,
I like this app - Update
UPDATE
I posted before that I wasn’t able to be notified in my Apple Watch after the recent update...well I was wrong. The watch is still new to me and I had forgotten that it “mimics” my phone! Low and behold...this morning my Pillboxie reminder showed up on the watch! This really is the best and easiest pill reminder out there.

Prior posting...
This app is great for folks that need reminders to take their meds. We all get busy and forget. It was working great on my Apple Watch 5 until the recent update. It promptly disappeared! Still on my iPhone X and works well, but I don’t always have my phone with me.

Sure hope that the developer updates the app to be compatible with the updates that Apple has issued. Seems that this app hasn’t need updated for 2 yrs.
Zwerlie,
Terrific app but...
I love this app, however it looks strange on my new iPhone X with iOS 11. It was updated two months ago but I’m not sure the developer is keeping up with iOS changes. When I opened it the display is scrunched with text overlapping on the top edge. This app has lived on my front page for the last several years. I hope the developer will update it and keep it current so that it looks nice and continues to work well. It’s a terrific app.
trhdavis,
My most important app!!
I absolutely love this app. I have had pillboxie since it first came out. It helps when I go to the Dr. , it helps that I can email my med list to other people when they need it. I feel one day and hit my head on the pavement and was unconscious. The paramedics asked my daughter when meds I was on and she remembered I had this app, so she grabbed my phone and was able to give the paramedics my medicine list. Thank you for this app!!!
Elizabeth in MN,
Alarms quit working, Meds scheduled but don’t show on list
After using this app for literally years, today it had a major hiccup. Alarms for 9 AM meds quit working. The others all worked. I tried resetting reminders, which looked simple enough, but now most of my meds in the due now list have disappeared. I went back in and rescheduled all of them, but they no longer appear in my due now list. It makes this totally useless for me. I’m terribly frustrated. This went from being the best app for medication reminders to useless just this morning.

I’m just sick about this! Wishing there was a fix!!
