Simple tutorial
To make a GIF with Pixel Animator, you should know 2 simple concepts.
At first you should know what the current button is, the button that is working. The current button is blinking. The color is changing form normal to red and from red to normal repeatedly. The default current button is a pencil. You can change the current button by click the button on the right panel.
The second concept is GIF frame. A GIF animation is made up of many single images, which is called frame. If you click the “add” button, a new frame will be added. If you click the “minus” button, the current frame will be deleted. Pay attention to the color of frame numbers. Red means the frame is added, green means it is the current frame and gray means the frame can be added but not added yet. For the free version of Pixel Animator, you can add as to 10 frames.
Frame rate is the speed of the GIF animation. Large frame rate means quick animation.

CTArt02,
Pretty good, but could be better
So, I found this app, I loved the concept. I gave this app a go. It’s pretty good, but there’s a few things I think that could make it better. For starters, this isn’t as user friendly as I’d like - Some of the controls don’t make sense, but overall as long as you play with them you can mostly figure it out. Another thing I’ve noticed, is if you try to save it makes a duplicate of that file. I’ve been trying to export projects I’ve done, but every time I try the app crashes (I’m never able to save them). Another thing I think would be nice is a way to make an account so you can automatically save and backup files. One last thing, I wish there was an easier way to view what you’ve done/did — a way for onion skin would be great! Overall, I’d say this is a pretty good app, it’s certainly got a lot of potential. I think some fixes could make this even better. It does mostly what I needed it to do, so that was a plus! Certainly look forward to using and understanding the tools more.
Bigtimewhovian,
Works! Not super user friendly, though
This app is pretty great and gets the job done!

Buuttt... it could certainly improve!

it could help a lot to add a color wheel so users can choose their own colors instead of pick from a list of pre set ones! I have a lot of beige and dark brown characters that I’d love to make animated pieces of on here, but I’m limited by the available options.

It also wouldn’t hurt to add a zooming option! It’s really frustrating to use without one.

Also, the exporting and saving options are in broken english and confusing, not very user friendly and hard to understand.

It could be helpful to add center guidelines as well as add a more true to life grid to the workspace! It’s very difficult to figure out where the center is without counting pixel by pixel

I’d recommend making said grid/guidelines a toggle-able option as they probably wouldn’t be very easy on the eyes after a while.

the shape tool doesn’t seem to be affected by the undo/back arrow? Since it’s such a large amount of pixels, it’s a pain to manually erase, so you might want to look into fixing that!

Aaand a tutorial when you first use the app would help new users to figure out what function does what!

Lastly, a mirroring function would be phenomenal!! It’d be so much easier to make shapes that are the exact same on each side.

All in all, it’s a good app! But it could be so much better with a bit more work!
Red_657,
Not what I was expecting...
I saw this and I said, "wow! This looks great!" But, unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. But, I will tell you what I think you should fix, because this has huge potential. Number one, smaller brush sizes, please! We need to do more refined work. Or, me, at least. Second, be able to save to camera roll. Or maybe it already can. Idk, j just started using it. Third, friendlier setup. In my opinion, this setup is ugly. Change it is the title screen isn't as bland, and easier to understand controls. And finally, the last flaw- make it so whenever you save, it isn't a copy! Ok, thanks for reading all the way through and I hope you understand. If you made it this far in a pixel animation program, you can work with what you have to make a jewel. K, bye.
120429300,
It's good but there is better that's free
As a ton of people said if you could add zoom, it's really hard to make advanced drawings when you have to place a pixel in a certain place. This is a app that lets you do animations using pixels but it asks for you to pay money when you could just go get a program that allows you to do all the things you do in this app plus so much more. I also can't share anything with friends and I bought everything. I think there is much more work that needs to be done in this app and when it starts getting better I promise that I will give 5 stars. It is a really good app but could use improvement.
KittyKatl0ve,
Not very good.
Okay, so I'm thinking, 'Wow! This app looks awesome!' At first glance, but it has some MAJOR flaws. So, first of all, there should be a grid for drawing, I can't hardly draw anything with the dumb format you currently have. Second, really? You need to pay to put in your own watermark. That is just unfair. I mean, that's pretty much a copyright law. I can understand the ad thing, but, get real here. Third, the app could use a much better set up. The current is very difficult to use. I accidentally deleted an animation that was actually going GOOD, which is surprising with this thing. And, you should be able to see for yourselves, or you're just that blind. Please make adjustments, but don't make it a super complicated insane thing that nobody can use. And, also, I'm deleting it. I should be able to save MY ART. Talk about stingy.
Thank you,
Lucky
BobbyCat22,
So…
This app has some good potential. The mechanics are a bit hard to understand at first, but after experimenting with it, I understood it a tad. Now, I'm not going to beat around the bush here, but you can fix the small spelling errors you made and make it easier to send and share gif's. Every time I try to share my gif's on other social platforms, all I see is an image of the first frame and some text saying "Check this gif I made" with a link to your app. That's pretty sketchy. It's as if you're using animators and artist's work to advertise this app. I think that's pretty messed up.
Ella Kuver,
Pretty dang cool
I’m wanting to make my own video game in the future (Nothing super cool) and this is the perfect thing to create designs on! Whether it’s sprites, walking animations, or a still picture, it’s an easy to use free template. There are a few things I’d like, for example being able to take something you made in a smaller resolution and make it bigger, but if it does exist I’ve not yet figured it out. The color palette is also slightly muted in my opinion, but those are my only problems!
Q.U.U.,
EDIT APP! FIX IT NOW!!!
Okay, I read the comments, and thought, "Maybe they fixed these minor/major problems." Well, here's the thing, they didn't. Not at all. First, my main problem, is saving the GIF as a GIF NOT a picture. I was actually hoping it would work, considering the comments saying things like "Saves GIF as picture." Second, might be a good idea to add in a tutorial...if there was one, didn't see it (sorry for wasting your time ;D). Third, I agree with the watermark complaints. Paying just to get it, even though those technically protect your work from plagiarism. Like, what the hell, I'd rather find a better app for creating GIFs/Animating-Pixels. This one is just a waste of time, and money if you pay.
CNY123,
Good game just a couple of things
Easy to animate but needs more brush types or stuff like opacity more options of thickness circles could be a bit different too… or the shapes…I don’t play pixel art that much but it’s so easy once I do it and I think I will draw way more with this too :)

Edit; I think more canvas options would be amazing I use this for drawing XD mostly, I don’t know why but this animating is so much easier then most things 🐺🐺🐺I draw wolves a lot too :3
Theluckyemerald,
Good work!
This is a very good app and despite what the others say, this app is still the best. However, Can I ask that you make it so that we could play music from soundcloud in the same device? Letting us listen to music while we make pixel art can impact our art and change our mood. We could also be more creative when listen to music and we will no longer feel lonely when listening to music. Thank you.
