byeeee!!!!!,
Really great game!! Just a few things to fix...
Pokémon quest is a really fun game! Though, I do think that they can add a few things and fix a few things as well. This does NOT mean bugs just things like allowing everyone to get in-app purchases. I personally think that everyone should be allowed to get in-app purchases because they might really ,REALLY need it! And I think they should add some new Pokémon to this game. Sure they have a lot of Pokémon, but I think they should add some of the newer Pokémon and also add new ingredients instead of the normal ones. And I now that this game hasn’t had an update in 2 years, but some new stuff couldn’t hurt right? I absolutely love this game and it is really fun, but I personally think that they should also add new worlds. I know that there’s 12 worlds (( Yes, I know about the secret world )) but the game is so fun but in my opinion, it’s way too short. This game should really get an update! I think that you need an update every once in a while. Again, I really love this game, and I’ve played it for a very long time, but I also think they should add maybe 1 or 2 new training styles just so the Pokémon can get even stronger, speaking of which, they should add more types of power charms like I know of the basic power charms, power & health, but maybe they could add a new power charm like a shiny power charm that makes the moves 2 times the strength of the regular move. Well I’ve got to go back to playing Pokémon quest now. Bye!!!!!!
pizzadog69696,
Lots of potential, fun, but RNG oh boy
I’ve spent a lot of time playing this and it’s genuinely something really cool. It’s an interesting concept that makes you think about what ingredients you need, the kind of Pokémon that are essential to beating an expedition, and it’s just as rewarding to evolve Pokémon here as in the console games. The only problem is you have to invest a lot of time. RNG for moves are not in your favor most of the time, and RNG for what Pokémon come out of the pots, while expected, is frustrating. For casual players and even hardcore players, they’re going to delete it pretty fast because of how long it takes to get certain types that are worthwhile with great move sets, which takes a longgggg time. In the original Pokémon games all it takes to change a move is evolution, hm’s, and tm’s. As far as I’ve gotten the only way you can change moves is through training, which unfortunately you have to sacrifice your other Pokémon which you’ve spent a lot of time working on getting. If there was a better way to do that then this would be a really interesting game to keep you moving through expeditions. In conclusion, I really love this mobile game, it’s one of the few games Ive kept on my phone for a month. I’m going to continue to play it, but I hope they add some good changes to give the player more incentive to keep playing.
Austinjt53,
Great game, few suggestions
I love this game and play all the time. The controls are simple, only having to push a button to dodge or use a move. The game is great, but I have a few suggestions that would improve.

First, dodging. Sometimes when fighting a pokemon, you can tell if they are going to attack. If dodge, sometimes your Pokémon run towards the enemy or into a wall where the opponent is aiming. If you could make dodging more realistic like where they run so they can get as far as possible, that would be a huge improvement. Next, the move dig. This also may apply to other moves, but I mainly use a pokemon that knows dig. Dig should be able to move under pokemon or rocks and trees. It should also be able to dodge attacks underground like in the main games. It doesn’t make sense that if you are underground, and you get hit from a move that aims above ground. Finally, training. XP training should give more XP as you are sacrificing your pokemon. When doing move training you should also be able to choose your move or at least see what moves it can learn. As you do more move training, the percentage of success decreases. I am always constantly move training with pokemon of the same type only to give a 15% chance of success. Even if it succeeds, it gives a useless move that I won’t use at all. Great game, these suggestions could improve the game but it is amazing as usual, pokemon company.
Ccity588,
Really fun, few flaws
This game is really fun and stays fun throughout the whole game, the variety of ways that Pokémon can be different really makes it fun to find your favorite Pokémon and get the perfect version of them with the right moves, stone slots, and Bingo Bonuses. There are some glaring issues though. First the energy, WHY? I get that it’s a free game but it’s not making any profit, there is no reason for it at all, at least make it 10 minutes instead of half an hour. Second the stones, I like the concept of getting Pokémon with different slots and finding new stones that have their own perks and stuff, but it feels really jarring that all the stones are in one inventory, it makes it really stressful to choose which Pokémon to put it on when I get them, I wish each Pokémon had their own Inventory where they had their own stones, like each expedition you do each Pokémon get their own stone that is different, I feel like that would make it much easier. Other then that this game is better then most main stream Pokémon games, I much prefer RTS style battles then turn based 1 at a time, it makes much more engaging and you have to focus on 3 at once making it much more fun. The style of the cube Pokémon is really nice looking in my opinion. And I love making new recipes and discovering what recipes give what Pokémon. Overall this is a fun free game with a couple flaws.
13ISaLUCKYnumber,
Great game, except...
Pokémon Quest is a great game! It’s adorable, and fun, and super casual, but then you get about half way through the game. The game starts to become incredibly difficult, and I like a challenge, but it eventually becomes that you either, pay for the game in order to progress faster, or you perform a lot of tedious and annoying tasks repeatedly until you get exactly what you want.
This game is very fun in its early stages, but it eventually gets to the point where you have to grind to get specific Pokémon with specific stats and do a lot of technical stuff in order to even make it to the final boss.
If you want to include difficult sections like that, sure I’m fine with it, but the game shouldn’t force you to grind for hours, and repeatedly search for one specific Pokémon, and then grind in order to get the right move, in order to just make it to the final boss. Include stuff like that after the final boss because it is incredibly annoying that I can’t even beat the main story of the game without getting all technical.
This appears to be a very casual game, but it is in fact more technical and difficult than any spin off Pokémon game should be, and a lot of the mainstream Pokémon games, if not all, are actually easier than this. Even difficult trainers, you can just grind in order to get your Pokémon to a high level, in this, if you don’t use in depth strategies, you have no chance of beating the final boss, if you can actually get there.
Yu Hiroshi,
No Forced Micro-transactions(Love the game)
As said above, it’s not like the Harry Potter Mobile Game where you constantly have to spend time for energy to show up. Instead, the energy system feels in place with the core game mechanics and the platform.
In addition to that, I love all of the character animations and their designs. My favorite thing about the game as a whole is their over design of the game. However, even that has some flaws.
One thing I would find to improve about the game is to have the player actually control the Pokémon they have on their team, so we can actually get a game out of it. What also doesn’t help is that the Pokémon just do everything on their own, which is further exemplified in the auto battle button.
Something I would personally love to have is a multiplayer mechanic that ties in with the said controlling your Pokémon. Maybe you can directly control a single Pokémon with one or more friends playing as the other Pokémon in the team. Or maybe a competitive option where you can battle another team or player that has left multiple Pokémon out on the field to defeat you!
I really hope this game goes further beyond what it’s supposed to be because I really really love this game. I just wish it were a bit immersive and engaging. Good luck to the game devs and I hope you find my criticism good. Thanks for the game!
GeneralSpazz,
Great! +Flaws
The game has a great cheerful vibe Plus a whole bunch of wonderful colors. It’s a really good time killer with my favorite first GEN Pokémon. The only problems I can point out is.. The scarcity of energy and the leveling up system and amount of Pokémon and gives you after each soup.
The scarcity of energy speaks for itself, once you do five quests, you’re forced to wait over an hour for the quest battery to recharge to max. I feel like the leveling up system is a little messed up. When you complete a quest gives you a moderate amount of energy which is good, BUT, when you’re trying to level up a certain Pokémon by feeding it other Pokémon it gives you an extremely unfair amount of xp for that Pokémon. I feel like it gives you a very small amount of Pokémon for each soup that you make... i’m pretty deep in the game and I still haven’t seen a soup that attracted TWO Pokémon, It’s always been one Pokémon that has a extremely low level. It’s unfair knowing that I have to go out on quests to get food knowing that the energy scarce and finally making a stew that attracts low level Pokémon that can’t even assist in helping my main team level up. I really do hope that you fix your energy and level up system. Overall it’s a really great game and I still recommend giving a try.
Jahshwiwoskjfkslakw,
RNG is ridiculous
Never have I played a game where the RNG feels so against the player. For example, I have a Wigglytuff that I really like, it’s one of my highest levels but it’s moves aren’t too good and don’t fit very well with it’s pretty solid bingo bonuses, I know it learns multiple moves I would really like! But the only way to change moves is to sacrifice other Pokémon to change its moves, this process can feel totally against you. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have changed wigglytuffs moves I get something not too great. Kind of annoying but that’s not the real problem- EVERY OTHER TIME I HAVE CHANGED IT THE MOVE CHANGES BACK TO FLASH. This move is completely useless on my wigglytuff, I’ve sacrificed so many Pokémon to change this move and the possibility of it changing goes down with each consequent move training. Not to mention, the chances are much lower if the Pokémon you’re sacrificing is not of the same type or species, this means that my wigglytuff is going to likely be stuck with flash for the foreseeable future unless I get 2 jigglypuffs or something extremely lucky like that. And even then, if the chances are lower than 90 I have to be totally worried since I have lost at this chance many, many times, it’s completely disappointing and a lot of work can disappear in mere seconds due to this. This game is so fun. It’s extremely addicting I’ve really loved playing it but it has huge glaring issues that make it not worth sinking more money or time into.
Jeremy Adam,
A Good Appetizer
This game is a nice little treat to keep any Pokemon fan busy until the new Pokemon Let’s Go comes out. Now keep in mind, it’s not like your usual Pokémon game so don’t go into it expecting the same catch, battle, breed mechanics. It’s a very much simplified kind of battling with mostly letting your Pokemon do all of the work. Each Pokemon has at max 2 skills that you can use by tapping the corresponding skill followed by a cool down period. Instead of catching you attract Pokemon by using ingredients you find along your expeditions to make soup with. And shinies are still present within the game and seem to be more likely to find than in previous Pokemon games. It’s a unique approach to Pokemon and it works. Especially for being mobile, it’s easy to play if you have a couple minutes of down time. The game does prevent you from playing long periods of time by only being able to have 5 units of energy at all times no matter how far into the game you are. Each expedition you go on takes one energy and it takes 30 minutes to regain back one energy. Of course you can make in game purchases to regain energy and other things to speed up the games process. All in all if any other this seems interesting to you I strongly recommend the download.
Pinkfloyd73!!!,
Could be fun but is AWFUL right now
HORRIBLE. Why do I say it’s horrible? Because it’s so close to being fun that it’s maddening that they won’t update this game. ITS SO GLITCHY!! The game mechanics are so broken. Half the time the Pokémon sit there and don’t move when they should and just get hit after pressing the scatter button. Using a move like whirlpool just makes you sit in one spot and get hit over and over. The delay between pushing a button and when they actually attack or move is just atrocious. This game has the right idea but the execution is totally off the mark. The computers attacks work perfects and always hit but my Pokémon will literally turn around and shoot it the wrong way and just sit there and get hit. I was 3000 over the suggested power with good moves and good Pokémon and lost because my pokemon missed all of their attacks on the boss. Very frustrating when it’s something you have no control over. Move training and experience training is a complete joke. A level 2 Pokémon will get you the same experience or chance to learn a new move as a level 40 and unless you get it to 100% success rate you might as well not even try. 90% will almost always fail anyway. Makes no sense!!!!!! If this game would just act like it’s supposed to it would be a great free mobile game. As is it’s a maddening and frustrating game of “let’s see how the computer decides to glitch and cheat today”
